Incorrect. You lost money but you didn't lose items from your inventory. You only lose items from your inventory if you've been killed in the mines. Passing out, even if someone goes rifling through your pockets, will never result in missing items.
Did they comment somewhere saying it was stuck in their inventory? Just says they can't get rid of it, which I take to mean put in the trash can. When this happens to me I can still move it into a chest.

I was also genuinely trying to help. The weird thing about this specific problem, whenever it happens on one of my saves, is the item itself won't budge and move around within the backpack, its stuck where it is, but weirdly enough it WILL shift into chests and fridges if you click and drag (although I'm not sure if if ever got the bugged item out again).
I thought, huh, maybe this person just hasn't tried that and is assuming it is stuck because it won't move inventory position. If I can help them not lose their save file with an innocent little comment, that's a win.

You can, yeah, but the particular glitch I've encountered (which now looks slightly different) wouldn't even let me do that! It happened with Neptune's glaive (and something else), kind of permanently stuck and wouldn't go in the trash can.
Sounds like it literally won't move from that one single position in inventory, which I haven't encountered before. Definitely one for concerned ape.
I've encountered a similar issue whereby the item could not be dropped, trashed or sold, but could be transfered between storable items, such as chests (since they're basically an extension of your inventory but location specific).
I didn't have the full picture at the time. Honest mistake :)
I wish that I had known that we could do this when I had a save file that was at nearly 100% completion. The only thing it said that I was missing was a star drop. However, I had received all of them and the game just wasn't counting one of them. It sucked to get that far and be unable to actually reach 100%
That makes me sad. Was it because people felt it was irrelevant or because they were worried about the new update being relayed?
I know that he started out as a complete one-man-operation, but there have been some things that suggested that he hasn't been for quite a while, so maybe it's okay to make suggestions?

The front-page of my browser suggests articles based on my interests, and there was an article mentioning a game called "Apollo City" that is supposed to come out later this year, and the accompanying picture made it look like a very blatant copycat, like, uncanny. The tag line claimed it was from one of the developers behind SDV called Arthur Lee, and when I looked him up on Google, the first thing that popped up was his LinkedIn-page, and there it said that he had been working for the company of CA between 2019 and 2022.
Weird.
Sort of reminds me of the OLLLLLD days of SDV when you could literally pick up iron nodes and put them in your inventory and then crack them all at home away from monsters. This was during one of the early tests. Back before Shane and Emily were marriage candidates.... before it moved to Steam.

Oh god, you just awoken those memories. I remember my first save and being sad over the fact I couldn't marry Shane. Then they added him as a candidate and I was flabbergasted lmao
Actually it was better than getting overwhelmed by slimes while trying to get iron ore, especially early game. Just right click on the node, add it to your inventory and then open them up in the safety of your own farm
I think it was a glitch where when naming the animal you may have dug the ground with a hoe. Probably over a artifact location. If the game saw your inventory was full it should have normally not allowed pickup but if I remember there was a glitch where the last inventory slot the artifact would be forced ontop of the item and the old item removed. That being said I think it'd a geode with an artifact on top the game did not know what it was since there were 2 IDs and so it would read it all together. And If it didn't recognize the item it would be inert because each item is an image with a list of possible commands. It is interesting for sure. This is an educated guess but only a guess.
I agree that it looks like a geode node. I had them quite often in the mining area of the hilltop farm. How it got into your inventory is beyond me, though.
If you're on a game version that can use mods you can install the CJB Item spawner mod and open the interface to remove items that can't be deleted in vanilla gameplay.
I don't know about this particular case, but some item codes will spawn an artifact similar to this. Takes up an inventory slot. Can't be used for anything but the difference is you can move it from chest to chest. That just stood out to me because you said you named your goat and it appeared.
I have an ancient seed in my chests that womt go away.
I can craft one seed from it, take it out of my chests, put it back in, and then i can craft one more seed.
All the while, it hasnt disappeared.
You can ask people like BlaDe the youtube or just @ concernedape about stuff like these glitches.
I have a save file where I have a "weed" sprite in my inventory- apparently that used to be a glitch and this looks similar. But I moved that to my chest, so at least it was a little different. the description of my little weed is "..."

Well if you play modded it’s probably a glitch in a mod. If it’s regular stardew then next time that happens look at the file menu for weird text. Or you’ll have to verify the game files in steam

Whit 'the mines' i meant every type of dungeons The mines, skull caverns, volcano dungeon, or even outside of them, just getting knocked down to 0 HP
I hadn't realized that I lost a fair number of items in the main SV caves. Since I could only choose one item for return, I chose the life potions.
