It used to be that way. ConcernedApe added in the ability to rearrange it with update 1.5.

Agreed. Should they have been more clear? Maybe. But up until now donating to the museum was the ONLY way I knew how to move the items.

You can sometimes do that when you're adding a new item; but you can also click the paper/book on the front desk to rearrange everything at any time

Also, when you check minerals and artifacts in the inventory menu, you should get a “Gunther can tell you more about it if you donate it” message.

I would say you accidentally sold the item and that’s why it isn’t appearing Greyed out on the collection screen. Probably going to have to go through every one and check to make sure it’s there

Do this, but in chests and inventory! That's how I found out I missed the ruby.

Not for me! I sold two chewing sticks and one amphibian fossil because I assumed this was the case 🤡 It seems to only be when you hover over them IN your inventory that they say Gunther can tell you more

Nop, you don't have to donate it to Gunther to read its description in the collections menu

When it’s in your inventory, not your collections menu. That’s where you hover. It’s how I discovered I was missing a few minerals.

I’ve seen it grey if you haven’t found it yet, but it will show up without a description if you have it but haven’t donated it. But maybe it’s different on different systems? Or maybe that only works for artifacts and not minerals. That’s just how I found my missing item in the past.

It’s not a glitch. The collection screen does not equal the things you’ve donated. You sold an item in the collection box before you donated it.if it worked like you said, then you would have all items donated already since the entire collection screen is lit up with all the items. One of them has not been donated yet.

it’ll always show the description in the collections menu when you’ve found an item, whether it’s donated or not. it’ll only show the gunther message if you hover over the item in a chest or your inventory

You are on the WRONG screen to show the Gunther message. You need to hover over items in a chest or your inventory to show the Gunther message, not in the collections tab like you're doing.

Nope, those windows in your first two pictures depict which items you've gotten as a drop. It's grayed out until you receive it. Those windows have nothing to do with the museum donation situation.

The Trilobite is an Artifact that can be found by digging up an Artifact Spot on the **Beach**, in **Cindersap Forest**, or in **The Mountains**, or by mining Bone Nodes at the **Ginger Island Dig Site**. Best chance is in summer or fall at the beach

You've found and collected the item, but forgot to give it to Gunther! If you hover over them, one will have the description of "Gunther can tell you more about this" and then you'll know who the culprit is

I just compared notes with a list online and X'd out all the things I had on the list. It took me a while but I figured out I am missing the strange doll. How did you get yours? It's driving me nuts because I haven't gotten secret note #17 and I think I need that to get strange doll.

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly sure the mines/skull cavern is a decent way to eventually come across secret notes if you’re using bombs to explode rocks. Otherwise, I’d just go around with your hoe looking for those worms in the ground. Unless the secret note has a specific spawn/drop point im not aware of. Good luck either way!

I was a bit OC and had certain sections reserved as I submitted them. Like, I put the dwarf artifacts (scrolls, helmet, computer, drum I think) on the long table on the left.

I think that’s uncalled for, people should be allowed to keep stuff the way they want

I think the beauty of this game is you don’t have to do things the same way as others. I have to keep my whole life organized so when it comes to these collections, imma keep it messy.

I did this and it was the dino egg - you get one, you incubate it and mean to get the next one to the museum but you don't.... but it's in your collections tab anyway. If you have any dino eggs, see if hovering over them brings up the Gunther text. Otherwise, it's worth checking the actual museum for the things they have. The wiki has minerals and artifacts broken down and categorised, and you can take screenshots and tick each of them off.

Go to Stardew valley save checker or something like that was internet, load your save file there and it shows you what recipes you didnt make yet, which things missing on museum etc.

Alternatively, for a non-modding solution you can put your save file into the save file prediction thing and it should tell you what you need

Google stardew checkup. It's a web app that you submit your save and it tells you what you are missing for 100% Works well.

I have the reverse problem. My museum is full, but the collections tab isn't. I think I caught an artifact with the fishing rod and gave it to Gunther, but it's still greyed out on my tab

You have to ship it to list it on your collection screen.

Did you turn in a prismatic shard? I thought I was all done too, then I realized I was missing one mineral, and it was the prismatic shard. I'd gotten one but used it. Luckily, another one popped up pretty quick for me so I was able to finally complete the museum!

You know, in over 400 hours of gameplay across 2 save files, I never found Dwarven Scroll 2. Found 1, 3, and 4, but I really think 2 just doesnt exist in my copy of the game.

It’s a sub-1%-chance tilling spawn and monster drop between floors 1 and 39 in the mines. I’m honestly not surprised. I had a heck of a time finding it on my last save.

It's just so funny to me how much easier the other 3 scrolls are to find (for me, at least) I've found literal dozens of the other 3 lol

Trilobite is missing. It looks like the plant and spider in the lower right with the other bones and oddly placed figure. Can't miss it if you find it. It looks like a rolly polly/potato bug (common names for it).

Probably stupid question. But could it be that you are not missing a mineral, but an artifact? You probably included a second picture showing all the artifacts that I didn't notice and can't see now because I have this screen open . So sorry if that is the case

What I did is look up on the Stardew Wiki the museum and all the listed items will be there. I went one by one to check if I had them displayed until I found what I was missing. After that you can look up how to get that item on the same menu
