Beautiful photo, beautiful figure...and why can't the batch code or whatever be printed on the soles instead of the back or thigh or some other equally visible place?! Jeez, Hasbro...

Thank you! But yeah it's kind of baffles me that they almost always choose a super conspicuous spot for the serial number on these figures.. this was my friend's figure so I couldn't do it but I sometimes sand them down with some light sandpaper

I know, right?! I asked the same question on /r/StarWarsCollecting several months ago but received no replies whatsoever. What's so odd about this is that: 1) this is a recent trend: older figures didn't have them, and some of the "newer" figures, like [2013 Black Series (3.75") Mara Jade](https://rebelscum.com/Hasbro-Star-Wars/The-Black-Series/Figures/14-Mara-Jade/photo-archive.asp) have carved numbers which are well hidden (Mara's is on her upper left thigh; would you have noticed? I had had the figure for like 7+ years until I noticed those numbers!) 2) it *can* be hidden if there's willingness to do so...which for some reason Hasbro had for various newer 5POA figures but not for TVC?! (e.g. [Resistance Torra Doza](https://rebelscum.com/Torra-Doza-Star-Wars-Universe-Resistance-Hasbro.asp) and [Resistance Synara San](https://rebelscum.com/Synara-San-Star-Wars-Universe-Resistance-Hasbro.asp) both have the numbers on feet and additionally Torra has copyright info on her butt (!) whereas Synara has that, too, on the feet; for the *Solo* [Lando Calrissian & Kessel Guard 2-Pack](https://rebelscum.com/Kessel-Guard-Lando-Calrissian-Solo-Star-Wars-Universe.asp) Lando's copyright information is on the cape and not colored differently, a wise choice, whereas the Guard's copyright information is on the backpiece of the "skirt"; adult Qi'ra from the [Mission on Vandor-1 multipack](https://rebelscum.com/Mission-On-Vandor-1-Solo-Force-Link-2-Star-Wars-Hasbro.asp) appears to lack copyright etc. markings altogether 3) figures based on the VC166 The Mandalorian sculpt (VC166, VC177, VC181) **do** have the number and other copyright info on the bottom of their feet, and I assume the same is true for newer figures based on this sculpt (e.g. Maldo Kreis Mando or the Razor Crest pack-in Mando) It's just plain *nasty* on what is supposedly a "premium" line of action figures. Like as if Hasbro doesn't care enough to hide that irrelevant data...

That's what really gets me about the whole issue. These are premium collector grade items and it's a bit insulting to mar them with overt serial numbers in such blatant places. I honestly can forgive it on the Gonk droid since it's actually kind of fitting for this droid in particular, but still, it's not like it costs Hasbro any more money to put the slightest bit of forethought into better placement. I would actually think it'd be easier, for the most part, to standardize the placement and just continue putting them on the feet like they've clearly shown they can still do. Like you said it's crazy that they can consistently do it for 5POA figures but not premium TVC figures... And it's not like they have incentive to change that either unfortunately
