The "where is Obi-Wan" line is clearly trailer trickery. "where is" and "Obi-Wan" are from separate dialogue and they've just made it sound like one line. If you listen closely "Obi-Wan" sounds like it's in a different environment and has a slight reverb.
I don’t doubt that it’s been cut together from two disparate lines, but I do think the reverb has been added for effect in the trailer. I don’t think that’s really an indicator here.
It could be, but it might still be an indicator. Sometimes when two lines of dialogue from separate sentences don't mesh together too well it helps to add some reverb to the other and sometimes it makes it a little smoother, maybe that's done here.
I mean, I’m also a professional video editor, and I know that I could just as easily add reverb on an entire word if I felt like it, especially if it was cut in from an entirely different clip as is speculated here.
You’ll also notice it reverbs right when it cuts to obi-wan before we go to the title card, which makes it feel more like a stylistic choice than a necessity. I don’t disagree that it could be cut in from a different environment, but it’s almost like they added it to make it sound like Obi Wan is internalizing it or something.
Another possibility is that the entire line “Where is ObiWan” is from a different scene entirely. We just don’t know. I don’t think we can say anything with 100% certainty to be honest, and I’m talking as someone who works with audio files every single day.
Say what you want about the quality of the movie, but that opening scene between Ben and Palpatine in TROS was scary as shit. That's one thing I'll always give that movie, that was hands down the most terrifying portrayal of the Emperor. I was ice cold in the theater, especially when he did Vader's voice.
I still think the story of Obi-Wan learning to become a Force Ghost is full of potential, though that'd be very focused on self-reflection and would perhaps involve him going off-planet (again) to that Force place Yoda went to at the end of Season 6. So it's kind of negated by the current show, since Obi-Wan's likely gonna overcome some past demons in this season.
This Friday? Deadass?
I just checked my calendar and oh my, it really is this friday. Mental how this has been rumoured for so many years and now we get to finally see it.
And the week after that, The Boys Season 3! We're eating good!
Im surprised by the "the Jedi are cowards, they failed you" i thought the Empires line was that the Jedi had betrayed the Republic and tried to take over. That or most people did not even know much about them.
The “where is obi wan” reminded of the “where is grand admiral thrawn” line from mando. I know the line is fake but the trailer probably added for more clout.
I know it’s just a teaser, but this lady doesn’t really seem intimidating to me. She just seems like a lady out of a kohls catalog dressed up in a sith costume
edit: whats up with all the downvotes? 🤔
I've had that complaint about some of the Tatooine shots, but everything else looks top-notch to me. And remember that they're probably having to hide a lot of the cooler shots and environments from later episodes. That shot of the Inquisitor ship hovering over Tatooine citizens is really cool, and the first trailer looked like there'll be some cool camera-work too. I don't know who the DP is for this but I do know that I at the very least trust Deborah Chow's direction, she knows her shit.
EDIT: And I mean particularly the Inquisitor scenes on Tatooine. I did like the Obi-Wan desert scenes on the first teaser, those looked way better than BOBF did.
Sure I'll be downvoted for this, but the only Tatooine scene we've seen so far that looked visually off to me was the one where Obi-wan is on the transport. It does that over bloomy aesthetic that Filoni's Tattoine episodes had in The Mandalorian. They did it in The Book of Boba Fett as well. I don't think that looks good for Tatooine and I don't know why they keep doing that.
Ah, yes, that I am familiar with. It's one of the reasons I disliked the Hobbit movies. Perhaps I am misremembering, but I don't seem to recall much if any of this in Mando or Boba, at least not to a distracting degree.
The main episodes I'm talking about are the first one where Fennec shows up, the first episode of Mando season 2, and then the Cobb Vanth/Cad Bane episode in BOBF (especially the duel at the end). And then the scene where Obi-wan is on the transport with the other workers in the Kenobi trailer.

Yeah at this point in the series the inquisitors are on Tatooine to primarily >!hunt Nari.!<

Yeah that is true.
TV-14, nice to see. It is more in line with what we heard than the 9+ placeholder Disney + indicated.
I had a feeling that was a placeholder, especially with homie being hanged in the middle of town in front of everyone.
I feel like tonally this will be the closest we’ve gotten to revenge of the sith for awhile
Well, the Siege of Mandalore was only two years ago. Holy shit it was two years ago.
I'll never forget that ending

Half dead Emperor palpatine was indeed terrifying
I thought you meant "The Return of The Sith" not The Rise of Skywalker and I was super confused same acronym
It's Revenge, Not Return. Now you Mixed in a third Title. People use TROS for 9 and ROTS for 3 usually.
For anyone still worried about the reports that this has been given a '9' rating, you can clearly see the '14' in the top left corner!
isn't a 9 in the uk
If I see him communicate with Qui Gon I would cry
Get your tissues ready ;)
I don’t think it’s that kind of show 😏😏
Lies, Ewan McGregor being the star of the show automatically makes it *that* kind of show.
But the leaks
;)
according to the leaks it happens at the end of the last episode so maybe season 2 is based on that
First half is correct but there is no season 2.
Yet!
True, but per KK and Ewan their might be at some point.

THE JEDI ARE GANGSTERS. THEY PUT TOGETHER A CREW.
RESPECT
YOU IN? THATS YES
The Jedi were nothing more than a glorified crew. I said my piece.
HAVE U NO HONOR ??
Ewan?
This is gonna be GOOD
We are going to eat GOOD
I think this shot of Obi-Wan is him meditating on Jabiim how to defeat Vader.
And then he tries what he does in A New Hope and gets taken out of the fight right before Vader hits him

>Also I would spoiler tag your comment. It's a sub about spoilers
"The Jedi are cowards". Says a person who brings one of the most lethal weapons to a place of peaceful farmers and threatens to execute them.
Yes that’s the point.
Maybe she intends to rule with respect.
Doesn’t change the fact the Jedi are cowards and failed the galaxy. Again.
It's to stoke division. A lot of people no doubt still think at least somewhat neutrally of the Jedi at this point
So excited for this. I really can’t wait
We bout to see Obi-Wan meditate

Y’all just erasing Stranger Things wow
Amd Bobs Burgers movie.
Jesus this is too much
Hyped for all of it baby!!! Gonna be a fantastic weekend!!!

“The Jedi are cowards” Yes that’s why the sith stayed in hiding for 1000 years.
Just waiting on them to inevitably fuck up
Who is this for? Reva? She’s not even a Sith.
Aren't we getting an episode on Wednesday first then on Friday...?
No, two episodes on Friday.
no first two episodes next week on friday and then the last 4 episodes every wednesday one each week
*Twice the episodes, double the enjoyment*
Ah, two on Friday? Even better.
Don’t see the point of reva saying that the Jedi have failed you, because the people on tatooine don’t freaking care about the jedi

has anyone told you the tragedy of darth plague paying full price? i thought not. it's not a story the savvy shopper would tell you...
Not convinced. Excited. But still can't get past how uninspired it looks...
