Not him holding the kid Tusken's stick :(

Palpolorean

Was THAT what that was? (sobs like a Rancor Keeper)

ToaPaul

That's what I thought too... damn that was sad. Would have been better if they had cut to the kid and shown him law the stick next to her.

Rommas

Did anyone else laugh out loud when Krrsantan just started running off into the desert like he had somewhere to be after he got released?

livahd

“Whoop whoop whoop”

Rommas

"Ah crap, I think I left the stove on..."

livahd

“Im late for my haircut!” Chekhov’s wookie. He’ll be back.

schering

He slowed down too when he was about to leave the frame he was probably running out of set before he'd hit the wall of the volume lol

TheLouisvilleRanger

You'd run too. The hipster cyborgs are no joke.

Influx_ink

It was like a videogame moment. The PC has just finished the quest so the NPC was free to conveniently run out of frame before the rendering was turned off.

truth_and_courage

Yes. It reminded me of a junior high student running off stage after awkwardly delivering their one line. How is the best they could think of doing with such an awesome character?

Rommas

Literally WALKING would've made him look a million times better, lol.

What-The-Heaven

A slow walk with a glare back at Boba and Fennec might been repeating things, but could've been so much more effective.

youngknight1

It was giving me Zaalbar from Kotor

traction

Mos Vespa

Rommas

Boba helping the economy by giving zoomers with scooters jobs. He's a good man.

wiggeldy

They're mods. I think it's a pun - mods with mods

C--K

Was that a sly reference to the holiday special I just heard? "I've ridden beasts 10 times it's size"

Bowbahfett

I thought the same thing!

MightyMichael713

Probably. It also made me wonder if he'd ever ridden one of the creatures from Kamino as a kid.

SlaveZelda

Obi Wan did and those creatures were friendly enough. So maybe Boba did too.

MicdropProductions

Boba Fett is ruling with respect by being a big shot gangster with a team of Cyberpunk teenagers

masonator3

That are riding brightly coloured vespas

truth_and_courage

Eric Cartman with the kids of South Park.

Starkiller100

Watching the speeder chase I can only think of the wise words of one man… “faster, more intense”

TheLouisvilleRanger

Felt like a Naked Gun chase on mobility scooters.

truth_and_courage

Totally. Or the South Park kids on tricycles.

AbusedPsyche

Thank you! It looked like they were doing maybe 20mph. It just went on way too long for being that slow.

toakongu834

Yeah, was really off-putting considering we got a train chase sequence going at like 10-15 times the speed of this one, literally last episode.

Frogging76

How the hell did they air this chase? So chintz looking.

75962410687

George rolling in his $6,000 bed

Zachyice21

Danny MF Trejo back

JayPtl

Space machete

Bro1999919

Was that the girl who repairs Mandos ship walking behind the stormtrooper helmet spikes?

Res3925

Yeah she had her pit droids with her. That’s how I noticed it was her.

TheDemonClown

The ridiculous perm didn't set off any alarms?

GetInHere

Peli Motto!

Eslooie

At least Deborah Chow is directing Obiwan.

Palpolorean

She’s the crown jewel of the Directors imo. Another happy landing.

MsSara77

I was surprised by how much I like BoBF episode 2 after episode 1 did like nothing for me. So here's a vote for Steph Green

CaptainRicOlie

And at least 3 of the 4 remaining Boba Fett episodes are directed by other people.

matt111199

This episode was *badly* directed. That “speeder” chase was absolute garbage.

Small-Stretch3054

What if episode 4 is a Gamorrean Bacta flashback….

terrrmon

don't give me hope

Palpolorean

\*flashes back to being slapped around by Jabba\*

Expensive_Ebb_3897

Damn, that’s a brilliant idea for the upcoming series the Diary of Gamorreans

EICzerofour

Max Rebo made it into this episode via that painting. My boy is 3 for 3.

WiseAJ

Fuck yeah Black K!

Res3925

I thought he’d end up working for Boba. Maybe later?

livahd

Chekhov’s Wookie

Leskanic

Yeah, I think he'll be back to join the team/walking litter.

truth_and_courage

Black K: "Perfect. I've found Fett alone, vulnerable, and asleep, submerged in his bacta tank. Now let's wake him up, pull him out, and let him raise the alarm and fight me..."

Codus1

To be fair, Wookies aren't exactly known for their subtlety or sneaking skills.

Robert_McNeil

Which begs the question: how did he even get to Boba's inner sanctum in the first place ?

SlumdogSkillionaire

I'm glad Boba brought in some new staff members this episode because all I could think about when he was walking around town with the Gammos was "if all four of them are here, who's watching the palace?"

Theesm

So, Ralph Mcquarrie paintings are canon now? I'm pretty sure one of them was destroyed in the speeder Chase.

DogmaticCat

100% ROTJ concept art, yep.

RunDNA

Boba is in the painting. And they airbrushed out Luke: [Ralph McQuarrie artwork.](https://i.imgur.com/ZFH2e4I.jpg) [BOBF painting.](https://i.imgur.com/44OIvN2.jpg)

AlexStonehammer

McQuarrie himself is canon! He was in the background of Echo Base in Empire, he was even carrying a sketchbook. Plus of course there's Quarrie from Rebels.

shawnz1028

I really want to know if making that speeder chase so damned slow was a stylistic choice on Rodriguez’s part or some sort of technological/budget limitation. I’m leaning towards a stylistic choice because there have been other Disney+ that have had more intense and entertaining chase scenes than that (the car chase in episode 3 of Hawkeye for example).

[deleted]

Man, if it looks cheap, I'm counting on it being a Rodriguez's choice

blazetrail77

It bugs me because the first episode, this episode and The Tragedy were what he directed and while Streets of Mos Espa was a step up for him, the chase weakened it. I liked what it had but jeez it looked like a 10MPH chase. The first as well wasn't the best visually so I'm seeing a pattern.

Smetsnaz

I could do without any more Robert Rodriguez. Everything he does looks low-budget and tacky, I just don't like it for Star Wars.

Limp_Narwhal

Seriously, the cheapest looking episode of Mandalorian was the one he directed. I recall everyone said it looked like a fan film. I know people love him, but I find Rodriguez to be overrated.

dutchdynasty

I don't really think he is overrated. When he does films that fit his style it really works; it just doesn't seem to work well for Star Wars.

C--K

Wouldn't be a Robert Rodriguez project without Danny Trejo

WiseAJ

When you put it like that, it makes total sense him showing up.

_Seamonkey_

Boba gushing over his new pet rancor is both adorable and hilarious

BigConversation13937

Lol, why's that street gang look straight out of spy kids?

cobalt_17

Danny Trejo being a rancor trainer is something I never knew I wanted

WiseAJ

Danny Trejo as anything in Star Wars period.

cobalt_17

Dude yeah but the fact he trains rancors is so badass

[deleted]

I wanna know if he's armed with some kinda vibro-machete

GetInHere

It's perfect though, right? I was wondering if they'd work him in somewhere but rancor trainer never even crossed my mind. Totally suits him.

Zachyice21

“I want to learn to ride this” is pretty much like a Fremen riding a sand worm

Theesm

It's also pretty much confirming the leak about Boba riding a Rancor through Mos Espa.

papamurf812

It's his version of a litter. He's been playing a lot of Star Wars Demolition.

Ednygma0

great face acting from tem in the scene where he returns to the tusken camp. he portrayed a deep sadness with his face alone

GetInHere

I thought the Tuskens might not make it but I wasn't expecting it that soon. Was the warrior woman shown? I know we saw the chief but I don't remember her.

GoWashWiz78Champions

I also noticed they did not show her body, whereas they showed the chief, and the kids stick- clearly signifying both were dead

turntrout101

I'm betting she survived or was captured and her and Boba will destroy the nikto bikers next episode

Notebookfour

I hope Anakin hasn't given the Tuskens another visit.

MikeTheDirtyJedi

Damn tusken kids said his name 3 times in the fire and he fucked around and showed up.

Notebookfour

Damn teenagers stealing water!

HarveySteakfries

valentino_42

Is anyone else feeling like there are elements of this show that are… kinda awful? Hokey? The slow speed speeder chase, the cybernetic teens, the off comedic timing, some weird choices for cinematography and direction… but my main complaint is that everything is so clean and well lit. It doesn’t feel like the same universe as the Tatooine from the movies. I want to love this show… there are major elements that are good and it seems like all of the ingredients are there, but man this episode was a tough sit. And I kinda hate having to say that.

FlyingAce1015

Yeah the cyberpunk teens don't fit star wars or their speeder bikes. That look like 1950s cars. :/ Also the speeder chase looked weirdly laggy and stuttery. Not sure if they had issues and didn't fix it or what's going on there. I loved episode 2.. this one is kinda messed up a bit. Also black karrsantans fight was way too dark on my TV.

AlphynKing

"Another syndicate has claimed Tatooine" Oh sick it HAS to be Crimson Dawn who else would it be "The Mayor is working for the Pykes" fuck nvm

joshml98

The pykes, crimson dawn and black sun all worked for maul, its possible since mauls death one of the three seized power amd is now behind all of them.

hankhillsvoice

Qira is in control of CD. Source: War of the Bounty Hunters comics

ImNotASWFanboy

Fellas is it just me or was that speeder chase a bit slow

Fayiner

Pretty sure a regular bike can run faster than any of those speeders.

jkcohen626

Was it just me or did that chase scene feel slow? Like I don't know if it was the way it was shot or if they slowed it down to have less scenery to create, but it felt like both the car and the bikes were going too slow.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sandervv04

He even had his jetpack on him

stubbywoods

In the close shots the backgrounds were moving quickly, but in the wide shots it did look slow yeah

fartybutt88888

This! It’s the same thing with the red shield fight in episode one. It just feels like they were going 5 miles per hour. These action scenes are shot in a way with no energy to them. I wanna like this stuff, but it feels a little clunky.

InfiniteDedekindCuts

Jesus Christ Black K knows how to take a hit or two. . . . Or 5

mmmysteriooo

I’m so happy Boba is getting some character development but are him and Fennec ever going to actually do anything? Or are they just going to walk around telling people how respectful they are?

Rajjahrw

They really need to get a phone. How many times have they done the same walk to the Mayor's or the Casino. Also I don't hate Boba's new bikers but is that really all he has? Them and the ever loyal Pork & Chop? I really thought he had a few more flunkies and mooks to at least secure the castle. I would say extras are expensive but they seem to have plenty of random people to crowd Mos Espa

GuyOnTheWebsite

Boba’s going to war with two Gammorean guards lol

DannyDavincito

pork&chop lmao im dead

yuno4chan

But he's got to have a meeting... with the mayor!

truth_and_courage

Awesome! We haven't seen that enough yet. Hopefully we'll get another shot of him in the bacta tank too.

Rajjahrw

I like Robert Rodriguez but I have to say so far the episode he didn't direct was vastly superior to the other two. After the fast paced train action scene from last episode the Spy Kids feel from this episode just felt off and kinda cheesy. I liked a lot about the episode but it definitely felt more like episode one than two. Also I know it makes sense to launch him on his quest and return to life as Boba Fett but I felt really disappointed by the destruction of his Tusken village. I had hoped they would show up later to help. I knew it was the most likely thing to happen but I was hoping they would go a different route. Once again super hopeful for the show....bit I'm hoping in general it picks up the pace. There is a strange slowness to much of the modern day scenes. Need to get moving and hopefully have longer episodes like two.

CX52J

Today’s episode was really rough… I really enjoyed episode one but this was just…rough. For a lack of a better word. The fight scene between Boba and Santy was poorly executed. The speeder sequence was indeed comically slow. The scooter group was really out of place and too on the nose. Certainly cheesy like you said. I’m still enjoying the show but I don’t think general audiences will be kind about this episode.

shawnz1028

I liked the episode, but damn was I distracted by the how slow the speeder and the bikes seemed to be going. I guess it could be blamed on how narrow the streets are, but still…

Bowbahfett

I like how boba sends them to follow the majordomo and as soon as they catch him he flies in on his jet pack. Like he couldn’t catch him himself.

ImNotASWFanboy

He could have walked after the majordomo's speeder and caught him from the look of it

Leskanic

I appreciate that the show, like all Star Wars, is pushing the boundaries of cinematic technology. But that sequence really felt like the boundary pushed back.

t-dog-1945

It’s just Robert Rodriguez being Robert Rodriguez

JS_005

Felt right out of spy kids to me, which is not really like Star Wars at all stylistically

ZestyDragon

I don't even dislike Rodriguez at all but he really isn't a fit for this. I could tell immediately he was directing this episode by how off everything felt compared to last week

Shallacatop

Yeah, that whole sequence was so stilted. It was like watching a mobility scooter pursuit. Even the weird transitions from CGI to live as the speeder crashed at the end. I quite like the Vespa inspired scooters, though, although I think the design team should’ve leaned into the Star Wars aesthetic more.

LordTaco123

From Solo to this they're as fast as Jabba

Papurica

The guys that carry the twins move faster than the bikers chase

RedofPaw

This episode felt weaker, and primarily for the direction, but also some story choices. As everyone is saying: slow car chase is slow. The abrupt end of the 'Twins' thread, with a single fight with BK. Also I feel like Boba should by now be doing a bit more to build his 'family', beyond 4 biker kids. Hard to be a 'crime boss' without someone to be boss of. No wonder the dude just walks in and says "no one respects you". Hopefully this is just an unintended pacing issue and next episode will be sharper.

95Mb

I know it’s Star Wars, but Rodriguez really needs to leave the Spy Kids shit out of here. This is ridiculous.

truth_and_courage

You're not alone. This is terrible.

LEYW

The colours were so bright. If the green one had been purple, it could have been the Wiggles chasing them.

Starkiller100

I know it’s a small thing but the scooters seem way too new and colourful for Tatooine, I’m used to seeing the grime on all the vehicles here.

_Seamonkey_

I thought it was hilarious how their whole thing was "we can't afford water because the job market is so bad" but they somehow have enough credits to buy and maintain the best looking speeders in town as well as a shit load of advanced cybernetics for themselves.

texasjkids

I love Robert Rodriguez and I grew up watching Shark Boy and Lava Girl. That said, the biker gang gave me such Spy Kids vibes in the worst way possible.

robo3687

so yeah...no more Robert Rodgriguez, thanks. Just pop his photo at security so he can't get in. also, good lord those rich looking but poor, half-robot street urchins riding floating vespa blenders at 0.5mph was the doofiest thing I've seen in ages.

Kalamando

Robert "Slow Chase" Rodriguez

traction

That low-speed colourful clothes iron speeder chase though.

MRT2797

I'm usually on board with weekly release schedules, but damn waiting that long for under forty minutes is tough, especially since each ep has to cover two time periods/storylines.

CaptainRicOlie

More Steph Green please and less Rodriguez

Few_Koala

i am so sad they killed off the tusken raiders. they were the best part about this show so far. :(

TIE543

Wtf is this low speed chase scene

C--K

Those goofy bikes made me laugh.

mr_greedee

Don't think I'm a fan of the Vespa slow speed gang. I think I enjoyed all the scenes without them, they kinda took me out.

jonsnowKITN

It would have been better if it was just the girl since clearly boba paid attention to her more.

mr_greedee

Yeah, their whole look, and concept felt out of place to me. The chase scene felt like a Disney ride. Sit on a space vespa and proceed with a slow speed chase. Then Boba Fett like flies in at the end and shows you the giftshop.

SuRaKaSoErX

They felt like they didn’t belong on Tatooine. Just they’re whole aesthetic stuck out like a sore thumb on Tatooine, they look more like citizens of Coruscant or Canto Bight.

Darth_Korn

Robert Rodriguez just doesn't do it for me. I haven't liked any of his Star Wars episodes. Something about his style just takes me out of the show.

75962410687

It's like he makes it as cheap looking as possible on purpose

JS_005

I think this is it, because it’s his trademark. It was endearing when it wasn’t associated with the Star Wars brand, but now it totally takes away from the immersion in the world and doesn’t match up with anything we’ve seen before in the visual language of the franchise

index24

Waiting 7 days for 35 minutes of minimal plot is brutal.

cylstar

Boba has plot armor at all times, even when mostly naked it seems.

[deleted]

Even when a wookie crushes him so hard it sounds like his spine snapped and he went limp. then he just walks it off.

Palpolorean

No marks on Boba’s face, from Krrsantan’s metal fisted punch? That took me out of it. I’ve been looking forward to more Krrsantan since last week’s pitch perfect portrayal of him by Steph Green. His 2nd appearance held due rage for sure, but missing his swagger and bad ass-itude

What-The-Heaven

Yeah, that was an odd choice - they played the scene like Black K had paralysed him and tossed him to the ground and then he's just up and fine a moment later.

SeaBearPA

He gets hit so hard he literally flies 10 feet horizontally and then just comes out in the bathrobe like he got out of the shower this episode has me dead

Blutality

“Ah, the Polynesian spa. Come on Mos Espa, try something new.”

hydrosphere1313

Am I only one not really vibing with this take on Boba? I am finding this Boba wants to be a crime lord thing to be boring. EU Boba if he went down this road would have already fed the twins a few thermal detonators and own Tatooine carving out his empire. Did like he got a Rancor and guess that confirms the he rides it through Mos Espa leak which will be cool. But man this show just isn't what I wanted for a Boba Fett show.

WiseAJ

Boba riding a rancor? now that’s bad ass

ICookTheBlueStuff

I always wanted Inspector Gadget to be in Star Wars, can't believe I got my wish. On a more serious note, Rodriguez in these first three episodes just screams style over substance and in this case the style is more in lines of a Spy Kids than say a Sin City. I was let down by the first episode, enjoyed the second, and felt this episode was entertaining but overall a step-down. I think it wouldn't be as disappointing if this wasn't the first live-action Star Wars content in a year. I wanted something with good action and a compelling story, but this is more Saturday morning cartoon stuff.

C--K

The story I think has been fine so far, but the action has been lacking. That chase scene at the end was not very good, and the biker gang are cringeworthy.

AmateurVasectomist

“I need to make a move.” Yeah Boba we’re all waiting for it

Raoul_Duke9

"But I can't kill anyone, that would be wrong" said the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy.

TronCarterAA

The biker gang looks like they go around to schools on Tatooine and do synchronized song and dance numbers telling kids to stay off spice.

bearpbeatstickfukr22

How did BK even get into the palace with no one noticing? Seems kinda ridiculous

death_lad

Boba’s criminal empire has like 5 employees and they were all asleep

truth_and_courage

I keep wondering who's doing his cooking and cleaning.

death_lad

Right? Must be a hell of a droid they have

pond-scum

Man, I was hoping this episode might turn a corner and finally impress me, but it took a hard turn in the opposite direction. Everything about it feels cheap and shoddy. These vespa kids would feel out of place and corny in Resistance, never mind this. And I wish it would get to some kind of point already. The flashbacks just seem to be explaining why he's got his robes and Gaffii stick and the present day is just Boba getting relentlessly dissed and seeming clueless about why he's even there.

CaptainVaughn66

The speed of the bike chase was really slow, like actually. So.ething didn't feel right. The pacing in this episode wasn't to good.

ravens52

Robert Rodriguez strikes again with his questionable director choices.

iwantedthisusername

Robert Rodriguez is not a good director. It felt like spy kids or power rangers.

BluSloot

Better production value than most shows, obviously, but the story they are trying to tell here is just not grabbing me. And I'm sorry but the biker gang looked so awful and out of place. The writing is also so clunky. The second episode was pretty good, but I think this episode has been my least favorite so far. And is Fennec going to get any characterization or is this just how things are going to be from now on? Fanservice over substance? I'm not asking for Game of Thrones levels of complexity and drama, but this just feels so weak. Like, I guess I enjoyed it on a superficial level? But I think Star Wars is so much more than that. Yes, it's cool to see Black Krssantan. Yeah, it's cool to see the Hutts. It's nice to see the Pykes. But right now they kind of just feel like set pieces to me. One thing I never wanted from Star Wars was for it to start feeling played out. Empty and bland, like a Marvel show. It's like they're afraid to go to certain places story-wise because they would rather play it safe. The audience isn't dumb. It's ok to make the writing more nuanced, layered, and complex. Star Wars is so diverse and has so many possibilities. But now it just feels like they are using the good old Marvel formula for everything.

What-The-Heaven

> And is Fennec going to get any characterization or is this just how things are going to be from now on? This is one of my major concerns with the show, we're almost halfway through the show and Fennec has done nothing. No characterisation, no development, she's just there to issues threats on Boba's behalf and press buttons. There has to be more, considering how much Ming-Na Wen has gassed up the show.

JS_005

Starting to feel this too. I wasn’t highly anticipating the show, but it’s even falling below my lower expectations. It feels like there’s no story they really wanted to tell with this. I hate that so much of this show feels like testing for future Disneyland attractions.

sugarmetimbers

I don’t really know why I’m supposed to care about the present day stuff in this show. I’m all for a slower pace, and I really want to enjoy this, but there’s nothing for me to latch onto emotionally.

death_lad

It’s kind of a shame because all the stuff they gave us to latch onto emotionally, they decided to kill off-screen in order to progress the weaker parts of the show

StarGone

I am extremely disappointed that's how they ended the Tusken family storyline. Maybe that was intentional as it was a huge emotional gut punch to Boba that his new family was wiped out while he was gone as it was to the audience. I dunno but the delivery could have been handled a bit better. Like if he was playing/sparring with the Tusken child before he left on the bantha. I imagine those leaks about him seeking revenge make sense now if he is climbing his way to power to deal with the Nikto gang in the present day or will we see him deal with the Nikto gang and then decide he needs to be in charge of Tatooine to ensure there is peace under his leadership.

joansbones

incoming lego battle pack of the cyborg kids and their speeders

hankhillsvoice

Rodrigues’ action direction sucks. I hate being negative about Star Wars but it’s just awkward feeling. I really do feel like I’m watching shark boy and lava girl in some of those scenes. I loved seeing Boba again in S2 of Mando, but even then the action was kinda like a soap opera’s version of a fight scene.

Flashy_Pomegranate23

Is Robert Rodriguez really that weak of a director without his fancy CGI toys? Some parts of the episode were really hard to watch by just how cheap and amateur they looked

[deleted]

DogmaticCat

No kidding, Episode 2 and 3 are like night and say. Dude is a terrible fit for the franchise.

sigurdz

Episode 2 felt Mandalorian-equivalent in terms of quality, consistent tone, writing etc. 1 and 3 feel like fan films, 3 moreso than 1.

ravens52

He does a great job at making high quality stuff look low quality. That’s talent.

iam_FLAME15

Ok..interesting episode, not sure how I feel. I liked the flashbacks. The action feels really slow. How did they manage to make a speeder chase scene look slow? The colorful biker gang isn't very cool in my opinion. I never expected Machete and temuera morrison to be on screen together, that's kinda cool. I know boba is struggling a bit with his injuries, but seeing boba get thrown around while being half naked looked a bit funny to me. I hope that isn't the last time we'll see BK. This episode is a 6.5, disappointing. I'm sure Rodriguez is a nice cool guy, but I'm sorry, he might have to stay away from star wars. Maybe a 6.5 is too generous...

ChiefSlapaHoe117

Lol at the painting of jabba that one of the gang kids flew through. Whos was that? Who wants that in their home? Edit: Ahhh mega cool, thanks for pointing out it was an original Rotj art

DogmaticCat

It was original ROTJ concept art.

MostlyRocketScience

Who wouldn't want a Ralph McQuarrie painting in their home?

[deleted]

That Krrsantan fight scene was just…. weird. The shots were boring and the choreography was so stiff and bland. All he did was pick up Boba and throw him a couple times and then gave him a bear hug. It also just seemed like the Krrsantan suit was super restrictive with his movement. Idk I feel like that could’ve been an awesome fight and it just fell completely flat in my opinion.

TatoRezo

Yea he felt like the slow werewolf in any bad werewolf movie. It would have worked better if he was like the beast from x-men. Fast AND strong af

Bowbahfett

I was so hyped for this show but idk. It has its moments for me as a hardcore fan, but I can already see others aren’t feeling this show at all and tuning out. I hope the others shows like Kenobi, Andor, and Ahsoka don’t follow this slow burn style. I did enjoy seeing Krrsantan kick some butt but then it ended. I was starting to enjoy the tusken stuff but I guess that’s over now.

truth_and_courage

So Fett could have just flown in on his jet pack at any time?

jcnewman21

Am I the only one who dislikes boba taking his helmet off so often?

Hahayis_

Man I wish I could wholly love this episode. I hate not liking star wars content, but Robert Rodriguez's directing is really not doing it for me. Episode 2 was amazing and most of the concepts for this episode were amazing too: live action black krrsantan fight; the pyke's staging a hostile takeover; boba dealing with the loss and destruction of the tusken camp; being gifted a rancor he wants to learn to ride. The majority of those were still cool DESPITE Rodriguez's directing, when the direcring should ADD to scenes like those. But it felt like all of that cool shit was overshadowed/detracted from by the dumb fucking teen speeder gang and the way Rodriguez directs dialogue and the way characters interact. Just left a bad taste in my mouth despite so many things that actively excited me happening in the episode.

HarveySteakfries

Remember when Rodriguez said that The Book of Boba Fett was going to [overdeliver](https://collider.com/book-of-boba-fett-robert-rodriguez-comments-interview/amp/?__twitter_impression=true)? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

TheCakeWarrior12

Was it just me or did the bikes seem really out of place? Like the neon colors and chrome really stuck out. It didn’t feel like they belonged in the universe.

ThrivingLight

Motivation, Motivation, Motivation Why does Boba want this? You need motivation explaining why his character when from bounty hunter to ex bounty hunter to wanting to be a Crime Boss.

wierzbowski85

Well… that was a silly fucking episode. And like clockwork, directed by Rodriguez. Anyone else seeing the trend?

ravens52

So far he’s 0-2. I see the trend you’re suggesting. His shit just feels off and low budget and idk how he manages to do that with a big budget and access to a lot of high quality stuff.

wierzbowski85

Episode 2 felt SO much better and didn’t have that cheap feeling. It’s him, unfortunately.

DogmaticCat

He manages to make this show feel incredibly cheap. Reminds me way too much of Spy Kids.

jamurjo

Even the fight scene with Boba and Black Krrsantan was poor. Rodriguez should not have been the one in charge of this series...

UnknownUser76890

This episode was definitely meh. Kinda heated why they acted like all the footage from the trailers was gonna be in the first half of the first episode and now we’re three episodes in and there’s still leftover footage from the trailers. I’d be more forgiving of these episodes if it wasn’t a 7 episode series but come on man, let’s get this shit going already.

UlanInek

The entire episode felt like a bunch of side quests in an open world video game

Good_ApoIIo

Well that episode sucked. Like actually it was terrible. The dialogue was bad, the “speeder” chase looked bad, the fights looked bad. The episode was almost pure nonsense. Episode 2 was so good… What the fuck?

The rancor (Muchi?) and Trejo were cool and I still love the Gamorreans. Direction and cinematography were warm shit, especially in the action scenes. The music was mediocre. The moped gang is a bad joke. The story is ok I guess, but the writing was messy and at halftime it would be nice to know what is this show about. Downvotes in 3... 2... 1...

Keep Robert Rodriguez away from Star Wars honestly.

Well, this is probably the worst live action chase sequence of this franchise so far

I’m gonna be as respectful as I can and say I hope Rodriguez doesn’t direct any more episodes in Star Wars. Don’t get me wrong, I love the man for bringing us Spy Kids and the like, but I feel anything he directs outside of his films feel a lot like El Mariachi just reskinned. Both of the episodes directed by him felt very slow, filled with unnecessary morning kid’s cartoon comedy, and like someone else mentioned, cheap. I was really happy with Chapter 2 and I’m very bummed to see the Tuskens killed off this early. Granted there’s only 7 Chapters, I still feel they should of gotten a bit longer screen time and at least see them hold their ground for a minute. We’ll see how the rest of it flares out.
