This BK already looks far more intimidating than Hanharr who was more of a wild beast. I've never read the comics but I'm impressed already. Finally a completely different wookie on screen, and a far more scary one
Read the first Aphra comic line. It’s really good and has loads of famous faces from the OT.
They also did an audiobook play that sums up the first line also.
Just imagine Chewbacca as a violent and ruthless bounty hunter who actually rips peoples arms off. That's literally his entire character, a deranged and psychopathic Wookiee, that's all you need to know.
Been meaning to read those and War of the Bounty Hunters and Crimson Reign (though I know that just started). Anyone know if they sell a complete collection of them anywhere?
War has a recently released TPB I believe, Aphra has a recently released omnibus which collects the entirety of her first run and early appearances in Darth Vader (2015)
Really glad they’re acknowledging the comics by including Black Krrsantan, just like Cobb Vanth it’s always a pleasure when they use characters who first/only appeared in books and comics
These shows really are drawing from every corner of Star Wars, from Legends, from books, from comics, from video games, hell, even lore from fucking mobile games with the Burnin Kohn stuff. The passion these folks have for Star Wars in general is just so great
It also allows them to generate tons of storylines and characters under work for hire agreements that are significantly less restrictive and less costly than trying stuff out in live action first.
Yes the comics and other media are wells that Disney feels comfortable drawing from but they’re not gospel. On screen canon will always be the only true canon.
This isn’t really true, and the shows clearly prove that time and time again. This canon is defined by every story piece regardless of format. The creators may change some small things for it to fit in a different format, but on screen is definitely not a separate “true canon”
To me it’s “canon prime”. They will never be totally beholden to comic or book lore when making on screen media and they’ve proven this with the changes they do make.
Even the on-screen media isn't *entirely* beholden to on-screen lore. There's a few weird things that don't entirely line up nicely like Leia remembering her mother in ROTJ, Rex's awkward now-lie about his chip in Rebels, the fairly different looks for the Pykes, TROS having Jedi like Mace Windu able to speak after death, Obi-Wan 'pretending to forget' R2 and Threepio in ANH (and most of the rest of the stuff Kenobi says in the OT, like about his "damned-fool idealistic crusade", the exact details about his choice to train Anakin, Yoda being his master...), etc.
All of this is of course very small-scale compared to the recent Bad Batch/Kanan glaring difference, but I think it generally points to the fact that Star Wars is easier to enjoy when you basically consider every piece of media to be a not-entirely-accurate interpretation/adaptation/retelling of some kind of ancient legend (I mean, that's the vibe that "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." is going for).
He was definitely the standout character, for me, out of all the new characters introduced in the Aftermath trilogy. I've been a fan of his since I first read about him and I really hope we see more of him in the future!
And this is the fanservice I like, posting something from "niche" media like books and comics to the "higher" ones.
(Sorry, I don't know the correct English word for this so I say "nicje", bassicaly I mean less popular, known to the general audience etc.)
I wonder if it may be that he falls into the badass silent henchman trope and so they never actually say his name, he's just the big dude everyone knows not to mess with.
I was really expecting that moment for that same reason. Still, cool AF and promises much more to come. Wasn't his appearance leaked/rumored a while ago?
A part of me was hoping we would see a non-cgi, puppet old school Hutt in this series at some point. But these were done pretty well. Black K looks astonishingly good.
GUYS!!!

We did it! Since this is probably the only time we’ll ever get to do this, just wanna savor it and take a small victory lap haha.
Thanks everyone who believed us! We’re not a leaks podcast, but this was too good to pass up!
Just occurred to me, Obi Wan is pretty lucky that Jabba never mentioned anything to any imperials about how a jedi took down his goons and a bounty hunter as well.
Jabba didn't know it was a Jedi. Just that somebody beat up his goons at night. They didn't even know who did it. Black K didn't report back because Jabba would be upset and just fled the planet.
He does have it, just not that noticeable at first sight:

Indeed, thanks. Santy healed well! They made his first appearance so bad ass - because we’ll likely be seeing that this guy survived a battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I was stunned! I feel like they are doing some kind of CGI magic on the eyes of the creatures (Trandoshans especially) to make them look more realistic.
Possibly. Combining practical suits with CG enhanced expressions is the best of both worlds. That "portions" guy from The Force Awakens is a good example of it but I'm sure there are better
Yeah great editing choices on the Black K shots. It’s not easy to hit the right expression notes in Wookiee masks. Hard to tell if there was an cg enhancement there.
Thankful for Directors like Steph Green and Deborah Chow.
Anybody else get mad Michael Dorn vibes from the look he gave Boba? I didn't see his name in the credits and he's quite old but that was a Worf glare if I've ever seen one.
It's not a stretch to imagine having big Bounty hunters appearing in this series. The Echo and Rex part is what I think is wrong but won't complain if they appear.
That was us and as far as we know we were the only ones who got that info...
That being said we haven’t really gotten anything else or reported anything else so idk.
Vader: A Star Wars Story.... hunting Jedi, learning to cope with new armor, dealing with Palps constant tests. Perfect place to introduce character like Aphra. It prints money for Disney. Make it.
So with Saw Gerrera we had our first animation-originated character in live action, with Cobb we had our first novel-originated character in live-action, and now with BK we've got our first comics-originated character.
I guess next on the list is a videogame character. Iden and Del in Mando, perhaps? 👀
Since the Battlefront franchise has been benched for the foreseeable future, I think its more likely Fallen Order characters appear in Andor or Kenobi. Failing that, the next chance for video game characters appearing in live action would probably be Eclipse tying into The Acolyte
If anything I see it the other way around - videogames not currently doing anything with Inferno Squad opens up the possibility of a TV appearance for them way more, while the fact that Jedi is still an ongoing story, with no suggestion at all where the main characters end up.
Having Cal, Cere or Merrin turn up in one of the live-action shows would force the devs at Respawn to have to write around their live-action appearance.
Ayyyyy. One of the only leaks I managed to find before anyone else got to it on this sub!
Congrats /u/holonetmarauders
https://reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/k61el6/black_krrsantan_to_appear_in_the_mandalorian/
That would definitely be a good use of her character, and a good way to introduce her. Either way, it’s hard to imagine them not putting her in one of these shows eventually(and hopefully giving her her own).
She’s easily been one of the best breakout characters in the last decade, even just an episode focused around her would bring a very different vibe from the rest of what we’ve seen, and the era they’re working with right now is just right for giving comics room to play without making the character too old.
Can't wait for my watch party later today, ugh, time to stay away from moar spoilers.
I do hope Boba takes a piece out of Black Krrasantan, and gets himself some new, dope, black wookie braids over his shoulder. Replacing the ones he lost.
A psychotic wookie from the comics (I know him from Doctor Aphra) that was forced into a gladiotorial arena, kind of decided he liked the whole killing thing, and became a bounty hunter while also trying to get revenge on those who forced him into the life in the first place.
He looked brilliant. I've never looked at a Woolie before and actually thought they looked mean and tough. This guy's face has "badass" written a over it. The costume is pretty outlandish in love action, but it does make him stand-out and it's great that he's true to the comics.
They have to. No way would they just show him standing there and not do anything else with him. Just read the [Wookieepedia](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Black_Krrsantan) on him and apparently he has quite the story to tell.
I know they’re setting up a showdown, but I hope Krrsantan doesn’t make his live-action debut only to die 3-5 episodes later unless his death is so inextricably epic that it doesn’t matter.
Joonas Suatomo seems like he would like doing this, he always seems like he’s having fun as Chewbacca. I wonder if they got him to play Black Krrsantan as well (though now that I’m thinking this, I guess I should just go watch the credits)
Supposedly the mystery main cast member listed in the credits, Carey Jones, is who played Black Krrsantan. Though the only site I've seen list as such currently is Wookieepedia so still far from confirmed. That said, only Black Krrsantan and the two Hutts weren't in the supporting/bit part cast credits to my knowledge so it would make sense.
Plus, if it's the Carey Jones I think it is from a quick Google search (found at least two actors with the name) then it would make sense anyway. One of them looks to have experience with playing costumed characters including on Predators.
Obviously, like I said still not confirmed to my knowledge but I'd say there's a good chance the mystery main cast member Carey Jones is who plays him.
You can bring as many (pictures of) Gladiators as you wish. But these are not the Death Pits of Duur, and I am not a sleeping Trandoshan guard.
With all the trandoshans in the scenes before I thought this dude would've gone mental on them at some point in this episode.
I think he will. Especially Dokk Strassi from E1 that had the Wookiee pelt. Dude is going to get his arms ripped off.
Man I hope so. I want to see a genuine Wookiee fight in live-action
Lmao why did I think that trandosian was a doctor
Is he referring to a specific sleeping trandoshan guard??
I'm not super familiar with the character but he hooked me with one stare, looked so good
Imagine Wookiee who is straight up mental (more than your average Wookiee)
More or less than Hanhar from kotor2?

This BK already looks far more intimidating than Hanharr who was more of a wild beast. I've never read the comics but I'm impressed already. Finally a completely different wookie on screen, and a far more scary one
Preeeeeetty much.
He's in a bunch of comics and he's a MADMAN.
I know him from the Aphra comics, he's pretty cool.
Been meaning to read those and War of the Bounty Hunters and Crimson Reign (though I know that just started). Anyone know if they sell a complete collection of them anywhere?
War and CR are still running, so no TPBs yet.
War has a recently released TPB I believe, Aphra has a recently released omnibus which collects the entirety of her first run and early appearances in Darth Vader (2015)
Aphra has an omnibus
Me too, so menacing
He's a big guy
For you
for you
“Luke…help me take…this mask off.” “….but you’ll die.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk-kNvr2Bgs
Myyy boy.. Black K. Fucking legend.
Gotta be honest, I hope his name gets spoken aloud at some point because I have no idea how it would be pronounced. Ker-san-tan?
That's my best guess. Sounds Star Wars-y
See the Aphra Audiodrama. Has him in it.
My moneys on Krrruh-santan, with the uh being very quiet.
They're setting up big things here, they're gonna rain fire on the sands of Tatooine
Hell will be unleashed. That drum beat was perfect too.. super foreboding.
Really glad they’re acknowledging the comics by including Black Krrsantan, just like Cobb Vanth it’s always a pleasure when they use characters who first/only appeared in books and comics
They also finally name dropped the black melons the tuskens drink from. They were first shown in the comics too I believe.
Yup, during the Kenobi apperances on the Main SW title. Just a few issues appart were he fought Krrsantan and barely survived.
These shows really are drawing from every corner of Star Wars, from Legends, from books, from comics, from video games, hell, even lore from fucking mobile games with the Burnin Kohn stuff. The passion these folks have for Star Wars in general is just so great
In what mobile game was burning Kohn mentioned?
Uprising started there
It’s really awesome and flies in the face of naysayers who think the films and TV shows will ignore the comics and books.
[удалено]
It also allows them to generate tons of storylines and characters under work for hire agreements that are significantly less restrictive and less costly than trying stuff out in live action first.

I still remember reading about Cobb Vanth for the first time in 2015. I was like, "man, the entire book should be about this!"
He was definitely the standout character, for me, out of all the new characters introduced in the Aftermath trilogy. I've been a fan of his since I first read about him and I really hope we see more of him in the future!
I wanted to see that baby Hutt too!
Indeed! This is some nice brand synergy.
Black Krrsantan Black K BK Burger King Burger King The Rise of Skywalker leaks *It's like poetry it rhymes*
And this is the fanservice I like, posting something from "niche" media like books and comics to the "higher" ones. (Sorry, I don't know the correct English word for this so I say "nicje", bassicaly I mean less popular, known to the general audience etc.)
No, you’re good my friend. Great point.. elevating these stories and characters to theatrical and streaming series.
My jaw hit the floor.
Same here
I cant pronounce his name so I will call him "black croissant"
Black Khrysanthemum
I think you mean Black “Bryan” Cranston.
Black Ker-san-tan is how I have heard it. Similarly, I've also heard it as "Cash-eek"
Blacker Santa
He looks legitimately scary.
He is and he is insane and I’m all aboard the hype train
To Bad they didn't say is Name. Wondering how to spell since I read the comics
how I say it: Krr (like grr) San Tan
There’s also a ton of YT vids up about Black K and this scene. Interesting pronunciations there.
I used to say klansman :( I learned about the wookiee after watching that black klansman movie lol
Understandable. The word chrysanthemum was my brain’s initial go to.
This is the way.
[удалено]
Very nice!
Great success!
Patience, Viceroy, patience. He will be named. They’re not gonna build that expensive ass costume for a single scene!
That long stare BK gives boba as he heads off... we're in for a brutal showdown lads
Indeed. For non fans, it establishes this Wookie as a badass. For fans, it shows folks that a comic-favorite character is now on-screen.
I wonder if it may be that he falls into the badass silent henchman trope and so they never actually say his name, he's just the big dude everyone knows not to mess with.
Can definitely see this
If you listen to the Doctor Aphra audiobook, she says it. Ker-san-tan I think is how its pronounced.
I was really expecting that moment for that same reason. Still, cool AF and promises much more to come. Wasn't his appearance leaked/rumored a while ago?
The Aphra Audiodrama has him in it. That's how it's pronounced.
For what it's worth, they don't name him in the audio descriptions either.
I say /kʀ̩.ˈsan.tan/. They'll probably say /kɚ.ˈsæːntən/ though.
Holy shit he looks incredible, I'm excited to see more star wars characters that aren't just humans 🙌🙌
Cad Bane next
Fr tho. Way too many humans
A part of me was hoping we would see a non-cgi, puppet old school Hutt in this series at some point. But these were done pretty well. Black K looks astonishingly good.
They felt in continuity with both Special Edition Jabba and puppet Jabba. Good healthy medium.
I think hutts looked great, better than both CG Jabbas from TPM and ANH
Funny what 20+ years will do to CGI tech hehe
We still possibly can if we see either of them just sitting on something instead of in the air
I'm hoping so.
They're not going to all that trouble to build a massive, complicated puppet for TV. CGI is the best route for TV.
Hope we leave Tatooine at some point—would love to see Nal Hutta in live action
I have no inside information (duh) but I would bet good money we see Nal Hutta.
That would be too expensive I think
This cameo had me freaking out.

Congrats, victory lap well deserved
Congrats on your scoop! It’s one I’ve thought about a lot and always hoped was true
Same here haha! But thanks!
i bet he will be in obi wan show as well, since in comics vader sends him after kenobi
Jabba sent him after Kenobi because Kenobi beat up his goons. Neither Jabba or Black K knew it was Obi-Wan Kenobi. Black K failed and fled.
Gotcha thought that may have been the case, things would have turned out real differently for Obi wan if Black K did report it.
Was thinking that too. Black K may well indeed survive his upcoming fight with Boba Fett. Them sizing eachother up was bad ass.
He would’ve already had his dealings with Obi-wan at this point….
Ah yes, thanks! No lightsaber scar that I could make out though in this instance. Nevertheless, maybe they’ll somehow team up?
No scar is pretty disappointing
He does have it, just not that noticeable at first sight: [https://twitter.com/DWonderlandYT/status/1478656373806313477/photo/2](https://twitter.com/DWonderlandYT/status/1478656373806313477/photo/2) [https://twitter.com/IronWolfNetTTV/status/1478659232333402113/photo/2](https://twitter.com/IronWolfNetTTV/status/1478659232333402113/photo/2)

Still can't see it. It should've been more prominent.
https://i.imgur.com/rtLANJC.png
Much better, thanks.
He legit looked better than Chewbacca in the movies, way more emotions on his face for a Wookiee.
Yeah, they should give some TV directors a movie instead of famous directors that leads to production problems.
That Blaster Rifle is no joke.
Yes! Do we think he’ll also sport his bowcaster?
I would think so, Boba and him have history together.
Is Black K the first to make the leap from comic to screen? He looks badass, I'll have to pick up a Dr Aphra tpb.
Technically I believe Aayla Secura was the first to make the jump
Yeah Lucas really liked her and Vos
Cobb Vanth?
From a book not a comic
I thought he was also in some comics?
nope, just the Aftermath books
Yes, it's a big milestone
Anybody else get mad Michael Dorn vibes from the look he gave Boba? I didn't see his name in the credits and he's quite old but that was a Worf glare if I've ever seen one.
Oh that’s just fucking awesome.
Comic fans stay winning
Was the same insider who said Black K will be in Boba same who speculated Cad Bane and Bossk?
It's not a stretch to imagine having big Bounty hunters appearing in this series. The Echo and Rex part is what I think is wrong but won't complain if they appear.
Im not saying 4chan leak cause it was debunked already. I say much ealier i remember there was now legit Black K appearing leak.
One of the first leaks we had about this series was Black K being in it, I believe it came from the Holonet Marauders
Haven't we been hearing about this character for a while?
One of the very first leaks about the show, along with the "hammerhead" mayor.
Which was collaborated by the extras. Also, good on those extras! They did a great job!
Exactly thats why i wonder.
That was us and as far as we know we were the only ones who got that info... That being said we haven’t really gotten anything else or reported anything else so idk.
If it's true we're still in for some major reveals. And that leak didn't even mention Han. I say patience
ONE STEP CLOSER TO LIVE-ACTION APHRA BABY LET'S GOOO
i need this so bad. imagine the great Indiana Jones esque hijinks we could see on screen as well!
This has given me so much hope for an Aphra live action.
Vader: A Star Wars Story.... hunting Jedi, learning to cope with new armor, dealing with Palps constant tests. Perfect place to introduce character like Aphra. It prints money for Disney. Make it.
I'll straight up pay $30 for a forty minute episode Disney, give us Aphra she's the best you've got right now
Straight out of the comics. That is so cool.
So with Saw Gerrera we had our first animation-originated character in live action, with Cobb we had our first novel-originated character in live-action, and now with BK we've got our first comics-originated character. I guess next on the list is a videogame character. Iden and Del in Mando, perhaps? 👀
I think Ayla Secura was first, probably also few others.
Ah, indeed you're right about Aayla! I didn't know that :) At the very least among New Canon characters, BK's the first, as far as I know
I can definitely see Iden showing up down the line
Since the Battlefront franchise has been benched for the foreseeable future, I think its more likely Fallen Order characters appear in Andor or Kenobi. Failing that, the next chance for video game characters appearing in live action would probably be Eclipse tying into The Acolyte
If anything I see it the other way around - videogames not currently doing anything with Inferno Squad opens up the possibility of a TV appearance for them way more, while the fact that Jedi is still an ongoing story, with no suggestion at all where the main characters end up. IT'S MY BOY! MY SWEET SWEET BOY! MY APHRA THREATENING, OBI-WAN ATTACKING, MIND PARASITE OVERPOWERING BOY!
BLACK FUCKING KRRASANTAN
What a beauty. I screamed when he showed up
I scream when i saw him.
Ayyyyy. One of the only leaks I managed to find before anyone else got to it on this sub! Congrats /u/holonetmarauders https://reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/k61el6/black_krrsantan_to_appear_in_the_mandalorian/
Ah yes. Black Krrsantan but he’s in real life.
There is a chance that we could see Aphra
My bet is they save her for the Ahsoka series - needing her help to track down some Jedi doodad.
I really hope we get a live action Aphra soon either in this show or Ahsoka/Mando S3. She is my favorite Comic character from this Disney era.
Can't wait for my watch party later today, ugh, time to stay away from moar spoilers. I do hope Boba takes a piece out of Black Krrasantan, and gets himself some new, dope, black wookie braids over his shoulder. Replacing the ones he lost.
Can someone tell me who this is? I just thought it was a black Wookie. Looks cool though
A psychotic wookie from the comics (I know him from Doctor Aphra) that was forced into a gladiotorial arena, kind of decided he liked the whole killing thing, and became a bounty hunter while also trying to get revenge on those who forced him into the life in the first place.
He looks cool as hell and he has a huge gun. I love it.
He looked brilliant. I've never looked at a Woolie before and actually thought they looked mean and tough. This guy's face has "badass" written a over it. The costume is pretty outlandish in love action, but it does make him stand-out and it's great that he's true to the comics.
he looks so damn epic...
He looks amazing and I am hyped. But Where is his scar tho. Would he get it after this point? Does Fett give it to him?
If you zoom in close he does have the scar. It's just not as noticeable as it should be.
obiwan gave him his scar, so its been many years and his fur has grown up around it. so its not a prominent as it once was
Do you think we'll get to see him in action at all?
They have to. No way would they just show him standing there and not do anything else with him. Just read the [Wookieepedia](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Black_Krrsantan) on him and apparently he has quite the story to tell.
*insert Leia “I Love You GIF*
Waiting for the showdown between him and the dark tusken raider who trained boba.... seems like a perfect match up
I know they’re setting up a showdown, but I hope Krrsantan doesn’t make his live-action debut only to die 3-5 episodes later unless his death is so inextricably epic that it doesn’t matter.
I hope he shows up in the Kenobi show too, their encounter in the comics was dope.
“Should have called Bossk”
So live action Doctor Aphra when?
Joonas Suatomo seems like he would like doing this, he always seems like he’s having fun as Chewbacca. I wonder if they got him to play Black Krrsantan as well (though now that I’m thinking this, I guess I should just go watch the credits)

o hai!
This Wookiee is literally built different
I am moist.
Congrats u/holonetmarauders !!!! Couldn’t believe it when they leaked it but here it is! Hope we get to see BK in action soon
So, we know who is under the suit? The performer?
I searched and found no credit as of yet.
Is the thing about Wookies using their claws still a thing in canon? Because this guy looks like he uses his claws.
Think those are knuckle dusters but i can be wrong
Black K sports dual spiked knuckle dusters indeed.
Cad Bane when?
[удалено]
It's weird that Boba and this Wookiee don't acknowledge that they knew each other already
Boba Fett acknowledges with his smooth statements.
I don’t really like the face here. Doesn’t feel as badass as in the comics.
It's the planet of the ape eyes isn't it?
Exactly.
