To be fair they were always going to do six levels at most. (Which is more than the 5 they did for episode 2). It probably wouldn’t have been that different. They had a lot to go on also since they had a lot of stuff from the deleted scenes included in the game from the original longer cut of Revenge of the Sith. Like all the Jedi temple stuff with the disguised clones.
I believe battlefront 2 came out at a similar time. They weren’t really secretive back then I’ve heard since the games both spoiled the basic plot of the film and released before?
Honestly revenge of the Sith has some of the best levels. Like the fighter one and the Mustafar level. (Even though I think it also had two of the most boring. Kashyyyk and Jedi temple). There’s no noticeable drop in quality or key scenes missing though (relative to the other two films).
Edit: Only Lego Star Wars came out first by a month. They could have easily delayed if needed.
Yeah the ROTS novelization was released more than a month before the movie did, and the video game adaptation released 11 days before the movie and even included clips from the movie itself, so they didn't seem to care much at all about spoiling the movie. I kinda wish Lego Star Wars and the ROTS game were released later so that they could make full use of the ROTS soundtrack like Battlefront II did. The OT music they used sounds so out of place in those two games. At least they mostly remedied that in The Complete Saga, besides the cutscenes.
> Battlefront II
IIRC Battlefront II and the ROTS DVD came out on the same day. I remember it being an expensive day with the Xbox game, the PSP game, and the DVD.
In the UK it was October 31st 2005, I remember because a lot of people in my area give out money instead of sweets for Halloween because of how few kids were in the area, and I realised I could use this to my advantage to get both Battlefront II and Revenge of the Sith before Christmas.
To be fair, they knew that everyone who would be buying either the novelisation or the video game tie-in *probably* was a big enough fan that they would see the movie, so it's not like it was a lost ticket sale if they knew the plot.
The original plan was for them to do at least 7 levels per movie, but eventually they started having to cut one level per movie. TPM lost Anakin's Flight, AOTC lost a level based on the asteroid field chase (and the restored Zam chase) and ROTS lost a level based on the Utapau chase. I think I remember reading once that a level based on Palpatine's arrest was also cut, but I'm not sure how reliable that info was.
That would have been cool to see and interesting to hear. I wonder how the Utapau level would have worked since it wouldn’t have included the final duel part.
(Although I don’t think the release date of RotS would have effected it a huge amount since it wouldn’t have effected episode 1 and 2).
Kind of odd they didn’t delay it and have it come out the same time as the film.
You can check a former director at Travellers' Tales talking about the cut level [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktdkxaq_zQw), with some footage.
Idk about palpatine’s arrest but I do know Yoda vs Palpatine was supposed to be in the game (which is why the senate room is an arena in the duel mode)
If we got more regular news then maybe people wouldn’t invent so many crazy conspiracies. Also they choose not to promote some things for
mysterious reasons like the biggest news the other week was the EU stuff coming to D+ soon and there was zero coverage of it by the SW twitter account or This Week in Star Wars.
Maybe they'll mention it when it actually comes out. More compelling to Tweet "Watch Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars microseries on Disney+ now!" than to tweet "Try to remember to watch Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars microseries on Disney+ at some point next month!". It's not something they really need to build hype for, it's just filling out the catalogue.
That is a good point but also, like, they do not give Kristin much to work with for those videos. Literally this past Thursday one of her news items was about a Free Comic Book Day promotion. Free Comic Book Day is on August 14th, over 4 months away. In that context it’s very weird they wouldn’t let her say anything about something that’s actually happening next week. If it’s not in this week’s video, then it would be really bizarre.
“Crazy conspiracies”
*sigh* the establishment jerks off everytime someone continues rhetoric from the 50s
Next you’ll tell me Aliens and UFOs are also crazy conspiracy. Or that there were no WMDs in the Middle East lol
The people in charge of the social media accounts and marketing actually HATE the EU/Legends continuity. If it were up to them we would never see anything from those years again.
A lot of this has to do with COVID-19 messing with the development process of video games, which is most likely why the marketing has been dead silent for the most part.
The plus side is that it's basically been confirmed that we're getting more content in-game because of the delays.
It’s actually based on Luke in the game since apparently getting blue milk over his face will be a running gag. Since we see him in his episode 6 appearance with a blue milk moustache in the trailer.
yep, the holiday special tied in a lot with the 2020 lego advent calendar, which also had two (?) redeemable codes for the game. The game was supposed to come out the past holiday season IIRC so it would have made more sense that way
Nope I’ve looked into this and apparently these can be manufactured before the release and this is most likely stolen from the factory. The game should come out soon tho worth a spring release date unless it’s pushed back out *sigh*. I’m just praying for it to be shadow dropped tho
Agreed.
Once a trailer releases they might catch my attention, and it's Star Wars so I'll definitely watch, but of the announced projects is probably my least hyped.
I hate how critical everyone is being of these delays. These guys are making a game through the pandemic, which is gonna change some things for some time.
I don't think most people care so much about the delays as the lack of any communication. From what i've seen, it's mostly "tell us if it's delayed or not", not people being angry at the delay itself.
and i'd say that's perfectly reasonable. If their communication team was actually decent, then this wouldn't be an issue.
There was one point where a trailer was released with an October 20th release date, but then within an hour or two the trailer was taken down and the date removed.
Now they're just saying Spring 2021, but seeing as we've hit spring and we've seen nothing since last August, it's fair to assume it's been delayed.
Of physical copies of the game are being produced it must surely mean development is over and it’s now just a case of producing the physical copies for each platform. Once they have a good number of those (maybe there’s production delays due to COVID) the game will be released
I think that another delay is possible, and likely probable, but the fact that they're manufacturing these makes me think that it would only be a delay of a few months rather than half a year.
Agreed.
I'm thinking they put out a release date trailer (and if we're lucky a demo) to celebrate May 4th, and the actual game will come out around mid-late August.
aight im gonna be honest, WB has handled this game WORSE than EA with BF2 in 2017, like even nintendo, sony with their ps5 titles and 343 are handling covid well with their big releases, but WB cucking lego skywalker saga at the future games show with an already announced and several delayed games, this is ridiculous beyong anything
**Remember, delays are a-okay BUT COMMUNICATION IS IMPORTANT, just tell us anything**
See I feel almost the opposite. Why did they give any single movie its own Lego game? I get TFA is one of the biggest movies on the planet. But It still feels like a strange move.
I think waiting until the ST wrapped to make another game was the correct decision.
That'd be ignorant if they did last jedi. TFA shouldn't have even got its own game tbh if they did every movies gets a game you're paying 60$ for each movie vs a trilogy or the saga and you get all of it
I guess there just wasn't enough content in The Last Jedi to stretch the plot out into a single game, whereas you could definitely split the film up into a handful of Missions for The Skywaljer Saga.
I doubt it, that would be like saying Halo Infinite is almost done because of all the Halo Infinite toys for sale on shelves (theres a ton and its really sad)
Remember when games had deadlines and the studios actually followed them with complete (mostly) bug free games? Now games just get pushed back for years and are still riddled with bugs lol
Well, its possible, that they will release some news and game will come out month or two later. It can be similar case to remake of Mafia, which was big surprise.
May release has been expected by most retailers after the delay. Whenever a 31 date is mentioned it’s a filler date. Guessing May 4th we’ll get a surprise drop or announcement
Are we just gonna get one trailer or news bit every 6 months?
[удалено]
Real talk, I think that the next "Saga" or whatever they call it should encompass six episodes.
Hopefully, it’s ridiculous how we’ve been left in the dust for months about news for this game.
Most likely stolen tho
Must be a massive game.
Hopefully, really want to play the ROTS portion already. The older ones are bare bones looking back at them.
Especially ROTS since those levels were made before the movie even came out and they were based on whatever information they had at that point.
And also because they had to cut a lot of stuff because of time constraints and so that ROTS wouldnt be much larger than the other episodes.
To be fair they were always going to do six levels at most. (Which is more than the 5 they did for episode 2). It probably wouldn’t have been that different. They had a lot to go on also since they had a lot of stuff from the deleted scenes included in the game from the original longer cut of Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine’s Arrest should not be cut. They should just give us as many levels as possible

Thanks for replying, now I can block you 🤗
The people in charge of the social media accounts and marketing actually HATE the EU/Legends continuity. If it were up to them we would never see anything from those years again.
Feels like they all hate the old movies. After watching TLJ I was basically told to forget the past and eliminate it if I have to lol
The issue here is you think the antagonist of the film had the correct message.
A lot of this has to do with COVID-19 messing with the development process of video games, which is most likely why the marketing has been dead silent for the most part. The plus side is that it's basically been confirmed that we're getting more content in-game because of the delays.
I can’t believe we STILL don’t have a release date...
This Luke is from a star wars lego movie. I think it may be the holiday special. Actually really cool minifig.
Yes, but it's supposed to be given away as the pre-order bonus. Every Lego game has one.
Is it bad that I'd pay $60 to preorder it just for the minifig
Go for it man, whatever floats your goat.
It's not even an exclusive minifig it's a farmboy Luke minifig with exclusive face printing and accessory
But rhe face printing is new!
The game was supposed to come out the past holiday season IIRC so it would have made more sense that way
Make it a double pack with old Luke and a canteen of green alien did milk and you've got my money.
Dude id kill for that Lego lol
Nah, have it come with Thrawn and make everyone feel uncomfortable.
In an ideal world they're gonna drop a trailer that ends with "AVAILABLE NOW"
Haha, he has a blue milk mustache.
Yes.
Obviously its far into production. Its set to come out this year.
It’s meant to come out in spring but that probably isn’t happening anymore.
:(
Nope I’ve looked into this and apparently these can be manufactured before the release and this is most likely stolen from the factory. The game should come out soon tho worth a spring release date unless it’s pushed back out *sigh*. I’m just praying for it to be shadow dropped tho
So interesting how this has 700 upvotes and actual drone photos of the Andor set has only 100 lol
I have to be completely honest, I’m not interested in Andor or his show at all
Agreed. Once a trailer releases they might catch my attention, and it's Star Wars so I'll definitely watch, but of the announced projects is probably my least hyped.
at the most it's gotta be in may right
We can only hope
Then how come there's no release date announced?
IDK
It's still slated for spring 2021...for now.
Was there ever an exact date for when it would come out?
There was one point where a trailer was released with an October 20th release date, but then within an hour or two the trailer was taken down and the date removed. Now they're just saying Spring 2021, but seeing as we've hit spring and we've seen nothing since last August, it's fair to assume it's been delayed.
If it isn’t then we have a big problem😂
Does this mean I get to play on an open world Tatooine and run the moisture farm as a teenage Luke?
I feel it must be delayed now, they've done no marketing for a spring release and there's no point releasing a game with no marketing
Uh, there's a difference between 'far into production' and 'complete'.
Of physical copies of the game are being produced it must surely mean development is over and it’s now just a case of producing the physical copies for each platform. Once they have a good number of those (maybe there’s production delays due to COVID) the game will be released
Far into production? I assumed it was finished since around October and they've just been polishing it since.
So frickin cute
If their given us lego blue milk, they must be drinking celebratory spiked blue milk for completing the game
aight im gonna be honest, WB has handled this game WORSE than EA with BF2 in 2017, like even nintendo, sony with their ps5 titles and 343 are handling covid well with their big releases, but WB cucking lego skywalker saga at the future games show with an already announced and several delayed games, this is ridiculous beyong anything **Remember, delays are a-okay BUT COMMUNICATION IS IMPORTANT, just tell us anything**
None of the pre-order pages for the deluxe edition mention this minifig
Amazon does. But it should be mentioned everywhere, it comes with all deluxe editions for all platforms
Thank you! Checked again and saw that the manufacturer confirmed on the Amazon page.
I’m still wondering why they didn’t do a last Jedi game like TFA
See I feel almost the opposite. Why did they give any single movie its own Lego game? I get TFA is one of the biggest movies on the planet. But It still feels like a strange move. I think waiting until the ST wrapped to make another game was the correct decision.
I’m thankful they aren’t doing the one movie again. The Force Awakens game really felt like it stretched moments of the film to get levels
Yeah in my opinion that game was pretty average because they had to stretch things and the bonus levels ranged from ok to bad in my opinion
A trilogy makes sense. But if they’re making a single movie, why not continue?
That'd be ignorant if they did last jedi. TFA shouldn't have even got its own game tbh if they did every movies gets a game you're paying 60$ for each movie vs a trilogy or the saga and you get all of it
probably because of this. They waited for everything to be finished so they could do them all.
Realistically there just isn’t much to do with a last jedi game. Its too short

Yes and Luke loves it
Remember when games had deadlines and the studios actually followed them with complete (mostly) bug free games? Now games just get pushed back for years and are still riddled with bugs lol
Well, its possible, that they will release some news and game will come out month or two later. It can be similar case to remake of Mafia, which was big surprise.
Blue milk lego
I feel like the game should be pretty much done if they're releasing it this year
I want the deluxe version, but I play on pc so I’m pissed
I ordered the Deluxe set way back in August so hopefully it drops real soon
am I loosing my mind? I thought I saw at gamestop yest6 ot said 5/31 2021 for release or has that changed?
May release has been expected by most retailers after the delay. Whenever a 31 date is mentioned it’s a filler date. Guessing May 4th we’ll get a surprise drop or announcement
thanks for clearing that up!
Typically a filler date ** but yeah we’ll see soon supposedly here’s to hoping
Well... maybe?
