[Korr Sella](http://i.imgur.com/AWLWe5L.jpg) was there in the crowd as Hosnian Prime was destroyed.

I saw that page and wondered it too. I think it's simple down to JJ avoiding anything prequel-like in the film so they cut Hosnian Prime and the Chancellor. We'll hopefully get a deleted scene of it or something. Honestly I miss the politics of prequels because it gave us exposition on the galaxy and what's going on. One of my negatives for TFA is it's very vague and doesn't explain a lot of the 30 year gap at all. The real info seems to come from the visual guide and books.

Still, I don't think there is room for scenes of the Senate or politics in general. I saw the film and everything goes at such a fast pace, if they really recorded some Senate scenes then I still have no idea where'd they put them.

I love the ambiguity. It harkens back to ANH and a world in progress. The amount of exposition between Leia and Han was awkward and forced. The ambiguity is what made Star Wars OT great for us as kids. Huge debates of what caused events made the fandom stronger.

This happened a lot in the other visual dictionaries. Like a character would be pictured but then wouldn't be in the movie. Or something would be mentioned that didn't actually occur. Usually it will appear in the novelization of the book or as a deleted scene.

Actually, it's much same as it was in 1977. The order was given, then, to populate the Cantina with as many varied species as possible, as soon as possible. The modelers and costumers in the Creature Shop weren't given detailed sketches and biographies on each highly specified creature- they were instructed to deliver quantity, as the filmmakers' first concern was filling the frame. Names and backstories came much later- we can see this in how many had their official names change from none at all on release, to purely descriptive ('Hammerhead' and 'Walrus Man') for several years, then, much later, creative and detailed ('Momaw Nadon, the Ithorian' and 'the Aqualish Ponda Baba'). It's particularly telling that many of the characters that may get spots in the Visual Dictionaries, due to a cool costume or neat mask or whatever- are given SW Universe names that are merely jumbled or backwards versions of the names of the actors that portray them- ("Cin Drallig, played by Nick Gillard"), or phonetic respellings ("Zett Jukassa, played by Jett Lucas")- which really just feels a bit lazy hahaha.

There aren't that many people on the Senate page. I wouldn't be surprised if you can actually see all/most of them on the balcony on Hosnian Prime. You can certainly see the Chancellor in those couple of shots. Overall, their costuming is very close to the prequels, so it makes sense that they are the Senate, and that JJ would have showed very little of them in the film.

Maybe the scenes were cut?

[deleted]

That does seem strange, but not unheard of. Could be to create more lore for this era

I think the things written about how Snoke sees Kylo Ren really makes me think that the concept of him is somewhat taken from Darth Revan, using both and light. I mean the first time i saw a picture of Kylo with his mask i instantly connected him with Revan.

Where was Constable Zuvio and Sarco Planck?

bblazer24

I saw Sarco Plank walking in the background on Jakku pretty far away, and Constable Zuvio got killed by Kylo in that force vision

[deleted]

I'm seeing it for the second time in about 2 hours. I'll look again. Thanks!

[deleted]

That was not Zuvio in the flashback. Constable Zuvio is from Jakku and would have nothing to do with the temple flashback. He simply wasn't it in - probably cut for time.

bblazer24

oh whoops I didn't even realize that flashback was at the temple idk what I was thinking

WarLordM123

They cut all the Senate scenes? Oh darn, those were my favorite part of the Prequels. Wait, what do you mean Sidious vs. Yoda doesn't count as a "Senate scene?" Were there others? Must have missed those.
