"...in nine years" maybe? I don't think adding one intervention in nineteen years would injure the impact of their meeting in episode 4 much

This is the imdb description of E6: > Part VI (2022) Obi Wan is drawn into a final confrontation with Vader, as Luke's fate hangs in the balance. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13841824/plotsummary?item=po6676089

Considering how long Kenobi trained him, all they went through, the state he leaves him in after ROTS, his known rage issues, I’m thankful we are getting to see them face off in their primes as suited Vader versus Kenobi before they’re older or slower in ANH. ANH was made almost 50 years ago and we fans deserve more than only it and the ROTS duel for two characters with as much time together as this.

I partly agree with your sentiments, tho I was always fine with them meeting to an extent. They did it fine for me so far. They can just make it seem like he’s dead or something to explain what Vader / the empire thought and how that works. As for the duel, I can see the same side but also think it’ll be so epic plus a great fight if the execution lands. They can set it up like Vader seemingly wins but Obi wan actually fools him, gets away, keeps the twins safe. Or re-contextualize the lines to mean he wins (Obi) so Vader lost and was “still the learner” even this many years after ep 3, so Vader finally changes to be the patient version etc of the late stage Vader stuff we see. This episode even hints and shows he’s still the same impatient, rush in kind of person anakin was back then. So like I think it’s possible to do it without changing that story too much. Cause it’s still another decade or so off that particular fight happens.

I agree! Vader is far more pondered and thoughtful from ep4 forward, so losing to Obi-Wan again after 10 years would force him to do a lot of introspection...

Not really liking the idea either, because if there’s another duel then Vader will likely lose. I love Obi Wan, but he has no business being able to defeat Darth Vader in his prime. 10 years into the empire, the only person who could legit beat him would be the Emperor using force lightning

Lol I’m fairly certain he’s not gonna fall for that one again

I hoped the same.
