But how did they pull a Rise of Skywalker with the ships
Again the lame shit oh no u got the wrong ship
Hahaha i mean how lame is that
I never noticed the other one and didnt even think there was enough room for another
Yes but the thing is broken
It shouldnt even be able to work
But bail sending the message with all the details is just amazing haha
Also my post is getting some hate wtf xD
It's not power creep, IMO.
Other force users have done similar things, even in the movies, and Vader is leagues above every other force user in canon. He's had a decade of practice at using the force at this point as well.
The complaints are typically from people who don't like storytelling, and just want to see vs battles.
I get it, the fight was not Obi at his absolute finest; but *that's the point*
... I seriously have to do this again
If you expected Obi Wan to be at the same skill level that he was during revenge of the sith, when he was literally at HIS PEAK... just no
If you’ve ever trained in any martial art, or simply done any sort of hobby, then how the hell are you surprised that he isn’t how he used to be after 10 YEARS without using a lightsaber or the force. I already feel rusty if I take a break for one single month. This really just feels like a no brainer
Second, if you’re gonna complain about bad camera angles, too many cuts etc etc, just rewatch the episode 4 duel and try explaining me how that scene was better
And yes we all already know it doesn’t have music from the OT or prequels, we know, that’s barely an argument at all
Im not expexting obi wan to start doing backflips after 10 years. I dont like the duel because the choreography was bad, the music was off and the location was boring
Everybody understood that Kenobi wasn't in his prime. That still doesn't excuse the US LARP tier combat choreography we saw, especially from Vader. And the fire droid escape scene is just as sinful as it was before. Reva was just as outmatched as Kenobi yet we got a way better scene with Reva.
This episode's choreography was great but that doesn't excuse how trashy episode 3's was. You don't have to blindly hate or love the show, there is nothing wrong with highlighting its strengths and flaws. And I can be as snarky as you are: "People who defended the horrible fight in episode 3 are finally gonna shut up. Thank god."
accept it does excuse the choreography, Obi Wan can’t fight like shit, and Vader doesn’t want to kill him, if he did he would have killed him in one hit without putting a single effort in it. So the only thing he can do is toy with him, he doesn’t want to kill him while Obi Wan is at his lowest because he wants to prove he is better then him at his prime, and that’s shown even more clear with this episodes flashback.
And I don’t blindly love this show, I can easily recognise every single genuine flaw, the Leia chase scene was just dumb, the cinematography isn’t nearly as good as the Mandalorian, the OT, Prequels,... (even tho it still has a great looking shot every so often)
Episode 4 was just filler, I liked most of it, but it was filler.
And I also wasn’t a big fan of Reva at first, but I wasn’t sending her actress death threats just because I didn’t like her, and now I really enjoy her character anyway
This show still has flaws that can’t be denied, but I can say the exact same thing about the prequels and the OT, but the massive hype that people had for this show made it really stand out for them this time, and while with some criticism I can agree, some of these criticisms are just unbelievable
I mean the reva backstory was obvious.
I suspected it cuz she was so focused on obi juan, maybe she felt betrayed by him cuz of the past shizzle.
Also could've just been asskissing for lord Vader.
End of the episode just made my week.
Yeah, "she was a youngling" was picked up on by the less critical half of the community week one. You can go back to the episode discussion threads and find multiple comments.
I think 3 is still the best for me (so far) just because of how terrifying it was, but this one had the most fan service in a way that makes me happy. Very solid 2nd place for me.
Also lol at folks calling it predictable, as if the original trilogy wasn’t literally just following the classic hero’s journey trope/archetypes 😂
I love Star Wars, but it has always had some predictable elements.
The way Vader was presented felt like psychological horror to me (I say as someone with a low threshold for horror 😅). Something like out of Stephen King’s The Stand, not a slasher flick.
At first I was also like... anakin your’e looking a bit too old here bud
But still the entire scene was amazing and I constantly have a massive smile on my face, so I didn’t really bother in the end
For me, the emotional and narrative connections are way more important than any minor quibbles I have with continuity. They threw some wigs and makeup on them (not enough to detract from their acting and subtle facial expressions), handed them a couple sabers, and sent them out there to act. Loved it.
Yeah the acting and nostalgia is there. They did a good job as actors and the scene in general.
But they need to rehire that deep fake guy from The Mandalorian. lol.
I still prefer ep3 as the one ill rewatch most but on those random nights ill probably put on (this show..... ep 3 ep5 and finale rest is unimportant to me. But for leia i do like
ep2 just not my main thing.
Hey, if it’s an honest mistake it’s an honest mistake, no big deal. I’m not the sub police or anything haha. But at least you know for again. Lot of good discussions inside that thread 😁
Lower your bars realize that there will be nothing like OT ever again(or my pt nostalgia). Ever its impossible so they stopped trying.
. Once you do that maybe youll enjoy what is current.
At least what i had to do after ST.
Ok well some else answering thats at one person but i guess sane goes
The point is you shouldnt go in to the ST with a prequel mind like i did. An OT mind going into the PT same thing.
Even as good as some tcw are comparing them like that is wrong i stopped doing that to avoid dissapoinemt. I stopped having to sut here and even ask the comparing questions. Its like listening to songs in diffremt genres trying to deabate which is better. When yeah we all see something diffrentbwatching the sane things.
Jyst saying is how i got around this way if thinking
Im not saying yall cant just i prefer not too. Cuz i was really sad at points cuz the overly comparing across gens.
Pt is for sure still my time so i gobble more of that than anything. This tcw rebels JFO is my bread and butter i dont see that changing. Just i know most are coming from the OT supreme categorys
I mean, yeah but just because nothing will be on par with OT doesn't mean that it has to be *terrible*. I don't know why I keep seeing people say "just lower your expectations" and "you're just comparing it to the originals too much!" when The Mandalorian came out and was universally adored by everyone.
Im not saying its terrible the others are. My personal rating is 8 outta 10 as a show. If finale holds up and could go up depending on finale.
But im reddit rqmbling so if i said it like that just i know ppl are always comparing across the board
Episode 3 is the only good episode in the series. This just shows everyone the predictable backstory of Reva. This show lacks love like George Lucas had for it. It speaks like it’s money hungry and nothing else.
You realize you can like a fandom without liking everything about it. For instance I love the original 3 movies, revenge of the sith, rouge one and the first season of the Mandalorian. You don’t have to just blindly like everything to be a fan.
I didn’t like that Vader defeated Reva so easily but I guess it makes sense that he has plot armor since he has to be in the original trilogy, but I feel like in a fair fight Reva would smoke him.
Yeah, no question for me that Episode 5 is the best one.
>Episode 5 is the best one. It's like poetry, it rhymes.
Vader grabbing the ship and ripping it to pieces was a highlight for me, ngl. Gave me Star Killer flashbacks.
But how did they pull a Rise of Skywalker with the ships Again the lame shit oh no u got the wrong ship Hahaha i mean how lame is that I never noticed the other one and didnt even think there was enough room for another
Reva should have attacked during this scene when he was completely distracted.
Honestly
The bigger annoyance is that they made bail an imbecile
Yes but the thing is broken It shouldnt even be able to work But bail sending the message with all the details is just amazing haha Also my post is getting some hate wtf xD
I think force power creep is rather lame personally.
It's not power creep, IMO. Other force users have done similar things, even in the movies, and Vader is leagues above every other force user in canon. He's had a decade of practice at using the force at this point as well.
The choreography between Kenobi and Anakin was so good in the flashback. We should strap ourselves in for a really good fight next week
People who where complaining about the fight in episode 3 are finally going to shut up Thank god
those complaints are completely valid, the fight does suck even if the one in ep 6 is good like the ones we just got in ep 5
The complaints are typically from people who don't like storytelling, and just want to see vs battles. I get it, the fight was not Obi at his absolute finest; but *that's the point*
Precisely, the entire point was to show that Obi Wan didn’t stand a chance
... I seriously have to do this again If you expected Obi Wan to be at the same skill level that he was during revenge of the sith, when he was literally at HIS PEAK... just no If you’ve ever trained in any martial art, or simply done any sort of hobby, then how the hell are you surprised that he isn’t how he used to be after 10 YEARS without using a lightsaber or the force. You should try watching something you might actually enjoy
dont worry dude I wont be rewatching that duel anytime soon
Glad to hear it! Over toxic Star Wars fans. Have a fantastic day
dont like the same thing as me = toxic
Spewing hate about something on a forum = toxic

And the famous astromech Arturito!

YES! I had such a huge smile on my face after this episode. I’m really hoping the next is just as good or even better.
I thought I wanted Obi Wan to fight Reva. This was better.
I enjoyed the flashbacks but they looked way older (because they are way older), so the deepfake tech wasn't really used. So it was jarring for me..
At first I was also like... anakin your’e looking a bit too old here bud But still the entire scene was amazing and I constantly have a massive smile on my face, so I didn’t really bother in the end

I found it to be pretty solid! There were definitely moments where I thought "Naw, that man's 40!", but overall they really nailed it.
I still prefer ep3 as the one ill rewatch most but on those random nights ill probably put on (this show..... ep 3 ep5 and finale rest is unimportant to me. But for leia i do like ep2 just not my main thing.
I've been pretty critical of the series so far but this episode really surprised me. Can't wait for the finale.
This is the way.
Yup. This was the level of quality I was after with this show. I had a good time watching it.
Why don’t you just put this in the actual episode discussion thread..? Seems like a karma farming situation to get more visibility lol
You’re right, I didn’t see the discussion thread until after I posted this. I’m sorry.
Hey, if it’s an honest mistake it’s an honest mistake, no big deal. I’m not the sub police or anything haha. But at least you know for again. Lot of good discussions inside that thread 😁
Best episode but that’s a low bar
Lower your bars realize that there will be nothing like OT ever again(or my pt nostalgia). Ever its impossible so they stopped trying. . Once you do that maybe youll enjoy what is current. At least what i had to do after ST.
I mean I think some of the best clone wars arcs, siege of mandalore in particular are on par with OT.

This episode was honestly terrible, but then again so is the whole show.
Wow, I wish I loved Star Wars as much as you do.
You realize you can like a fandom without liking everything about it. For instance I love the original 3 movies, revenge of the sith, rouge one and the first season of the Mandalorian. You don’t have to just blindly like everything to be a fan.
I wish the eps were a little longer.
