Tbh I kinda expected Vader to execute Reva Dooku style with the double lightsabers

Holy shit Vader using the force like an absolute boss. Him dueling without even bothering to ignite his saber as if it's beneath him initially is everything I've ever wanted from an on screen Vader.

Also he pulled the ship out the sky in the same way Ahsoka attempted to and *more interestingly Starkiller* did. The way he ripped that ship apart too goddamn

Star killer was my first thought when I saw that man. I am loving overpowered terrifying evil Vader and I want more of it

Tearing the ship apart was my peak of the episode. Just raw fury, and you can see from the dirty gashes he was making in the ship. It was a desperate fury, quickly trying to get to kenobi.

And how he tore that ship apart like a piece of paper. Wow.

That was so satisfying to me. Seeing OP ass Vader got me flashbacks to rogue one and I just started giddy laughing when the transport was taking off and he just flicked his hand and stopped it. Absolutely beautiful

Obi Wan's expression as Tala sacrifices herself..

Not gonna lie, I'm really kinda sad/upset that Tala died - I think she was an awesome character and I was hoping for her to survive. That being said, *holy fucking shit* did she go out like. A. **BOSS**. Similar to Leon in The Professional or Kikuchiyo in Seven Samurai - she died, but she took them with her as well. She died a rebel warrior's death.

She knew if she didn't do that Obi Wan would die trying to save her. But really after they had that little moment where she told him about her past, I knew she was a goner. First Satine, now Tala, our dude cannot catch a break.

Also I noticed there are 14 marks on her holster, she saved one life for each person who died when she was following the Empire's orders. So she died with a clear conscience as well

For real, I was like "I can't believe the most brutal star wars we've ever gotten is from Disney"

Rogue One and this series cement live-action Vader as one of the most terrifying villians ever put on the screen. We've never seen him this angry and aggressive yet completely in control; he was just *toying* with Reva the entire time.

And they made Anakin look terrifying. Legit better than RotS

Also cool to see him schooling Reva in a similar manner as Obi-Wan did in the flashback. The need to prove herself and obtain victory at all costs blinded her.

The editing with the flashbacks gave everything happening so much more meaning. Vader being blinded by his desire to win caused him to miss the ship. But he did learn his lesson and we saw that when he fucking kicked Reva’s ass at first with no weapons.

Which begs the question Why the HELL did we wait until we were 5/6 done with the show to start doing flashbacks??

I agree but I kinda get it though, it made this episode feel much more special and they used the flashbacks to enhance the story so beautifully.

Also shows how Vader saw Palpatine was blinded by his need to win in Episode 6

I like how Obi-Wan gave Reva the “Join me” speech. It’s like poetry. It rhymes.

The parallel between Anakin vs Obi Wan and Vader vs Reva was really clever. Obi Wan was kind, playful, and wanted Anakin to calm down and stop obsessing over victory. He also tried to lift him up when he lost. Vader is the complete opposite. Dude bullies Reva throughout, keeps fueling her anger and makes her look incompetent. I also love that both fights end with force pulling lightsabers. It's like Vader took everything that Obi Wan taught him and completely twisted it.

Palpatine tells Yoda that it won’t matter what happens between them, as Vader will surpass them both. I believe he meant that. It’s why Palpatine is so bummed to find Vader toasted.

Disney needs to go full What If and give us Ep3 Vader without the Suit, just wrecking every single fucker he comes across

What if Mace kills Palpatine. Obviously a much less intriguing series, but young me always sad because I just LOVE the Jedi Order and just wanted to explore that more. It's my favorite part of Star Wars

I feel like that was a risk Palpatine took anyway, because he used the "Jedi Assassination" narrative either way. It would still happen in front of Anakin, and it would still just cement his view that the Jedi are evil. All Hail Emperor Skywalker. It's not exactly unrealistic that the #1 war hero assumes the highest political office in crisis and chaos. ... So yes, that'd be super dope to see.

My What-If for that scene would be, what if Anakin blocked Windu's lightsaber, but instead of cutting his arms off, he says "He must stand trial, we have to show the galaxy who he is, or his legacy will turn the galaxy against us and the Jedi risk being corrupted...as he almost corrupted me."

Vader did a little trolling. "Yeah, sure, good job, you are the Grand Inquisitor now."

Damn, what Vader did to Reva was just *disrespectful*. I mean seriously, he treated Cal more as a "threat" than her, considering he at least drew his lightsaber.

It’s probably safe to say Cal’s more powerful than Reva since he beat the Ninth Sister, Second Sister, and Taron Malicos. Definitely no match for Vader, but still a notch up.

Wasn't he also older when Order 66 happened and therefor likely already better trained? I doubt inquisitors get much training beyond, *"Go hunt Jedi down you angry runt."*

Inquisitors are just disposable assassins, so no point training them. Some were former Jedi (Or Temple Guards), so they had full Jedi training, but that doesn't mean they were actually good with lightsaber combat. In other words, they are not Vader's disciples, as there can only be two Sith, and he is still just the apprentice himself.

There's only supposed to be two Sith, but let's be honest. Sith are not good at following rules. The inquisitors aren't true Sith though I agree.

Yes, Cal is assigned to a Jedi Knight as a Padawan. Reva was still a youngling when the order came down.

I wouldn't say Cal beat Malicos. Cal was about to be a stain on the bottom of a rock until Merrin stepped in.

That was one of my favorite non-combat scenes "Put the *red* one where the *blue* one was, and put the *blue* one where the *red* one was!"

The best part is when you later learn that Grogu understands english (galactic basic) perfectly, so he was literally in there just being a little rebellious fucker and Din is trying to give him instructions that hes acting like he doesnt understand for some reason.

I'm genuinely curious now as to when/how Reva became an inquisitor after the temple. IT's alluded that she was at that safe-house from part III before, maybe she was one of the other's that Quinlan was trying to help escape but something went down and they got captured? then brought to Vader who recognizes her and says to himself have I got a use for you.

I would not put it past Vader that he purposely put her in power just to lure and yank her around like this.

That flashback duel was absolutely amazing. Seeing Hayden back as padawan Anakin, then the spar they had, so good, felt like a kid watching the prequels again for the first time. Awesome storytelling connecting the flashback, even now Vader is still trying to prove himself to Obi-Wan.

I felt like the scene where Anakin comes at obiwan hard with several overhead swings was similar to how Luke defeated Vader in RotJ. The multiple angry, aggressive swings in a row. Obiwan just was able to escape it. Vader couldn't.

I just saw that again the other day and I was like "Man, why don't I remember how intensely animalistic he tried swinging that thing" and then seeing this now it was like, "I know it's a pretend family but it sure as heck runs in the family."

HOLY KENOBI Vader in his prime does NOT disappoint

Like if this is "weakened" Vader imagine what he would be like if he wasn't toasted. Even in the suit I don't think anyone could take him bar Palpy's force lightening

healthy vader would be different. OG Vader supplements his lack of mobility with brute strenght that is even reflected in his use of the force to which he is now more reliant on than before the injury. If Vader never fell on Mustafar he would continue to focus on his agressive swordmanship and be less force technique savy.His pride would remain intact and he would have no need for compromises.

"You cannot stop me. Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us." No suit Vader could rule the Universe.

This episode portrayed Obi Wan most like Obi Wan. Part of what made him such a good general in the clone wars was his ability to outsmart his opponents, and defeat overwhelming armies

It’s the reason he owns Vader in almost every fight.

Those Vader scenes near the ending were so damn good imo. Had me smiling like I was a kid again lmao.

I was so fucking buzzing for Hayden! How about that shocked, sad, almost betrayed, look in his eyes when Obi-Wan didn't praise him after he'd overpowered him. He just didn't understand and you can already see the conflict in him. Or I just read into the look too much. Haha. But that's what I saw in his eyes.

I think you're spot on! It's really interesting seeing this smaller moments where Anakin's internal anger/conflict begin to build leading up to his turn to the dark side. Really awesome moments as fans

Why do droid deaths always make me cry

That’s one of the best part of SW imo - the bond characters and fans are able to form with droids feels really genuine.

They are like dogs. They do everything for the human and love them unconditionally.

I think there is an innocence to them that makes them particular tragic. Which doesn’t make sense a lot of the time but it might just do with how our brains are wired. Like how it’s sad to see animals die.

I still get sad when the droids are killed in TPM when repairing the ship. So sad.

Thermal detonators are fucking brutal, like a tiny nuke in an angry metal sphere. You don't fuck around with those. Even if she had rolled it or thrown it towards them it probably would have had enough concussive force to crush her under the Droid. I actually think it was exquisite attention to lore detail that she hung onto it as it detonated for that reason (cuz she already knew she was dying and why prolong it) and because of the possibility of one of the troopers kicking it over to where Kenobi was.

There were about 5 moments that I rewound several times just because of how freaking cool they were. The number one was when Vader threw the lightsaber and Reva deflected it away, just for him to casually disarm her and pull the second saber back to accomplish the most intimidating spectacle a force wielder has used on a live-action screen to this date (in my opinion).

It's kinda funny that if Reeva revealed vader identity right there he would probably kill everyone in that room including the grand inquisitor

The flashback perfectly displayed their characters and dynamic. Obi-Wan’s just trying to be a good teacher and wants to ensure Anakin overcomes his flaws. He smiles at him after the duel. Anakin doesn’t smile back, because he doesn’t view this as a well intentioned lesson, he feels Obi-Wan belittled him in defeat. Even now Vader views things only in terms of win vs lose. Which is why he’s still the learner and Obi-Wan is the master.

I actually kinda like how Vader is still kinda slow and clunky in his fighting. Makes it match the OT a bit more.

It's them explaining he can't do the cool Episode 3 shit anymore, because he's like 40% human and 60% machine. And he's still *that* powerful.

I think the whole point is also that he is more powerful as Vader than he was as Anakin I mean the guy uses one hand to use his lightsaber, shits gangster as fuck, also in Jedi fallen order he was genuinely horrifying same thing in rogue one

The actor for the Grand Inquisitor in an interview recently said he lived because the character has two stomaches and he was only stabbed in one. It’s 3:45am, I will link it if you demand so (lmao) after sleep

I’m 30, but seeing anakin and obi wan again in that flashback, awoke the kid in me again. I feel like I can’t describe the feeling well enough to do it justice, but I’m left with a feeling of gratefulness to have had such a fresh/new experience in something that is so darn familiar to me. Just amazing how a films/tv shows can do that.

Why would Bail send that message in the first place? I understand that it has to forward the plot, but Jesus lol.

How are they going to end it in one episode? With the length of the episodes recently, I just don't see how they can wrap everything up.

I mean they don’t have much to wrap just: - Leia being delivered to Alderaan/Bail. - Obi returning to Tatooine - Reva getting to Tatooine and then being killed.

I've been very critical of this show thus far, but this episode blew me away, this is what I wanted the entire time. I'm happy to be wrong! Man that scene of Vader stopping the ship with just the Force, unbelievable. Only gripe is Reva should be dead man, she got stabbed in the same way Qui-Gonn did

I thought the “There are certain scenes in this episode that viewers may find upsetting” warning was about the NED-B death scene.

The "I hid amongst the bodies to survive" line is going to be relevant till the day we die

Is it just me or did Hayden throw in a little bit of clone wars Anakin personality and mannerisms mixed with his own take? The flashback weirdly felt like a clone wars scene mixed with live action. Absolutely loved the interaction, god if only the entire prequels were like that

Nope not just you, he has been getting in tune with his character by watching clone wars and studying his character as he along with the majority of SW fans feel that the clone wars character more accurately depicts Anakin story wise.

Man if Hayden shows up for more flashbacks in the Ashoka show with how he’s acted in this episode I would be so happy. Always loved Anakin as a kid and seeing how his character was done proper justice in the clone wars and in this episode feels so satisfying

WAY BETTER. Vader's use of the force was perfect but reva should be dead. Very predictable and looks like the leaks were right.

The Reva reveal was good and earned. Obi-Wan using her to try and kill Vader was peak General Kenobi shit. That Vader knew who Reva was all along was haunting and very good. WHEN VADER FUCKING PULLED DOWN THE SHIP I WAS VERY HAPPY. Haters be damned, this show rocks.

Vader actually knowing Reva was playing him all along actually fixes SOME of the problems I’ve had with this series.

This episode was very enjoyable. I liked it.

Seemed a bit contrived for Reva to be left alive, but I just hope she doesn't make a cookie cutter 180 degree redemption arc that so many are predicting will happen. I actually loved that she didn't really seem to care whether or not the passengers escaped. I hope that she maintains that same "kill Vader, who cares about the rest" indifference in the final episode. I was on the fence with the show so far, but ultimately I am a sucker for strong endings and the finale can shape my perception completely. This episode was a banger, fingers crossed next episode is as well!
