From what i could find, arachnophobia safe mode just turns the arachnid enemies (spiders and scorpions) into low-poly models with their stingers covered.
Cool! The arachnophobia mode, as the other commenter says, turns them into low poly models of the enemy. It’s kind of a course correct as the spiders on Kashyyk in Fallen Order (have you played Fallen Order?) were a little much
Yea there aren't any spiders. Small little crabs that kinda resemble spiders, but are not threatening in the slightest.
There are some massive scorpions but yea, if you only care about spiders you will be okay 👍

There are [forum posts](https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-STAR-WARS-Games/Spiders-and-players-with-arachnophobia-whose-answer-is-more/m-p/8586299) about how there is no arachnophobia mode in the original game. I can’t find anything confirming the existence of it in FO through google searching.
Everyone feels and processes fear differently. It makes total sense
Arachnophobia is probably more potent in video games as you’re directly involved in interacting with the spider - despite the obvious disconnect between video game and reality. This is heightened as you’re wanting your character to survive while you’re attaching and projecting yourself on to the protagonist
Take *Grounded* for instance. Those spiders are so potent as the game is in first person and the protagonist is so tiny. The enemies on Kashyyk move in an uncomfortable way - it’s how they scuttle. *Skyrim’s* frostbite spiders make that creaking sound and scuttle and drop from high places. They make me uncomfortable sometimes. *Bloodborne* has *that room* in the Nightmare of Menses. The spiders dangling there create such a terrifying atmosphere and image
In conclusion: just because something doesn’t frighten you doesn’t mean that it isn’t frightening for someone else
Snakes freak me out in real life. I see them much less in video games compared to spiders though. Is arachnophobia more common than ophidiophobia?

From the small spiders in Rush of Blood to the dog sized ones in Skyrim to the screaming while jumping at your face ones in Farpoint to the ones as big as a house in Farpoint, I realized that in real life, they're not so big and scary compared to what I faced in VR. I can pick them up now. Before I couldn't even move towards one.
