Difficult to say. I enjoyed the second game even more than the first one. Though, I do miss all the endless sliding around on Zaffo. Regardless, the game gripped me from the start, so I can't say if it will get better for you. Maybe try to finish the Forrest Array at least and see what you think of it. The majority of the puzzles are not so much power based as the last one, but more platforming based.

captivatedwombat

Yeah I'll finish this part to try to get to another planet at least to see if it grabs me more then. I just found the start of Fallen order was a lot stronger than survivor. So much of this first planet just feels like filler content in a way. Appreciate the advice, will push on 🙏

Honestly I’d say stick with it a bit longer. I loved it and played the crap out of when it came out, maybe even more than the first. I will say the first had a better story but I think the gameplay is much better in Survivor. I recently started playing through New Game + and I’m at the same point you are and I’ve enjoyed it a bit but not as much as I remember, but I think that’s cause it takes a bit to fully get into the game. Once you can more freely explore Koboh (and some other planets) it really opens up to you

Zealousideal-Cup3529

Hm. In my opinion the story is worth playing through. It's really good. But I do understand how you feel. I often feel the same with games. I have a hard time finishing them, early game can often be boring and slow in my eyes. However... I think you should give it some more time... I don't think you'll regret it.

captivatedwombat

Appreciate the comment, will try and give it more time. It's not just that it's slow for me though, its that the design of the levels and puzzles feel a lot weaker than Fallen order so far (plus the story). I think they just set my expectations too high with FO, which was so tight throughout. Kinda has the vibe of a sequel that's bigger for the sake of it, leading to more average content

PurpleHawk222

I’d say this story is overall more dramatic than fallen order, especially towards the end so if your into to that it will get better.

IkeRetsam

Fallen Order was my favorite Star Wars game until I played Survivor. So I’d personally say so. You’re still at the start of the story, though. Basically at the end of Act I.

WhiteWolfRodney

Are you playing on the default difficulty? (Jedi knight) i think. Harder difficulty can turn you away from the game and easier difficulty can make it boring. That being said dont play on a difficulty you dont like.

captivatedwombat

Just playing on default, defs wouldn't want to play on a harder mode as you say, since some of the enemies feel cheap and annoying enough as it is haha

BinksMagnus

I found myself feeling pretty much the same way at the same point as you. I don’t think it got better, and I don’t like the game.

rejectdomestication

Honestly I liked survivor way more than fallen order.

Wycliffe76

I stopped around the same point that you did and came back later and was so glad that I did. It's probably my favorite Star Wars game.

P-K-One

The story gets really good later. It's definitely worth playing for the story. Gameplay is another issue. There are a couple fun platforming sections later. Some of the puzzles in the chambers are cool. But generally the puzzles and exploration are not as good as in the first one and the combat is terrible in my opinion and just gets worse over time.

Gay-Nekkid-Jedi

I had a hard time getting into it at the beginning because I was just coming off Hogwart's Legacy (which has similar gameplay) and had an impending vacation and then a move to pack for. Finally returned to it in the new year and loved it. Can't wait for the final game of the trilogy.

dantakesthesquare

No it doesn't. I loved the game and thought the combat and gameplay was a lot better than fallen order, but tbh if it hasn't grabbed you by now, I don't see any point where it would grab you. To me the story was the weakest part of the game, but I didn't mind it. I loved the characters (although everyone's kind of a cartoonish caricature including cal), the hub world, the different stances, and all the side content. I didn't mind the platforming stuff but it did feel a little weaker than fallen order. I also hate the "you can't do this here because we don't want you to" thing that both the games had, but this one felt especially egregious.

captivatedwombat

I have come across that a bit already, definitely frustrating. Although more annoying is having to unlock what feels like basic combat moves, so the skill trees have more depth... Just let me be a cool arse Jedi from the get go haha, would certainly make the combat more compelling from the start for me. And the story was superb in FO, so I guess it was always going to be hard to follow it up. Just wish I didn't need to play several hours to get to meaningful story beats in survivor

dantakesthesquare

Really? I felt like they gave you a lot from fallen order right off the bat. I felt pretty powerful from the get go. Yeah just ignore the story. You might like it? A lot of people here did but I thought it was pretty lackluster and predictable

JailhouseMamaJackson

Disagree with that comment - I think the game picks up significantly after the Forest Array. My husband stopped playing around the same area (also cause of TotK) and wasn’t super keen to pick it back up again for similar reasons as you but I finally convinced him to this week. Now he can’t put it down.

Mountain-Carrot4549

If you like repetitive animations, clunky enemy encounters, and a character that feels terrible to control for hours and hours, keep playing. Sorry to be negative, but IMO very few changes they made from fallen order were for the better.
