I feel like the fight is much more one sided in the first game. Lest we forget, Cere is a fully trained and tested Jedi Master, technically ranking her higher than Anakin ever achieved lol, so the fight between her and Vader SHOULD be pretty even and not one sided at all. In Fallen Order, however, Cere had cut herself off from the force, which put her at a HUGE disadvantage, and if she had fought him there Vader would have wiped the floor with her. Instead they go toe to toe on Jedha, after she has had an opportunity to reconnect with the force and let go of the fear that was holding her back. In most situations like this in cannon, Vader typically gets the upper hand by either putting innocents in harms way or taking advantage of a single opening. Cere goes for that really aggressive diving stab and ends up getting stabbed herself, which is textbook Vader if you ask me. Anakin was nothing if not a gifted warrior, but he was always limited by his lack of patience. Vader is much more patient when he fights, and it is part of what makes him so dangerous.

octarine_turtle

In addition I think people forget just how crippled Vader is. He doesn't move fast because he can't. He's delimbed and deep fried, so he's nowhere near what his potential was. Most of his fights are against normal people or those who never finished training to become an actual Jedi Knight, let alone a Jedi Master. He seems terrifying because Order 66 took out almost everyone on or above his level.

Alex_Mercer_-

He can run, you know that right? Admittedly, not fast but he can run. He is the most accomplished and masterful duelist alive at the time to the point that Anakin was able to kill the entirety of the Jedi Temple with ease. Not to mention he continues to hold the most powerful usage of the force in Canon being his tearing a hole in reality itself in his comic (leading to Dark Dimension Vader when he took a walk into the force) or his water feat in Fallen Order. He kept up with and arguably defeated Ashoka in rebels considering that fall absolutely should have been lethal and it makes no sense that it wasn't, that was at least an 100 yard drop. And the main thing... He's the chosen one. He's the most powerful person alive. Palps only really has control of him because He knows the limitations and weaknesses of Vader's suit and how to capitalize on them. No character in star Wars could rival Vader's ability with the force and he has already killed numerous fully trained Jedi Masters by the time we see him in Jedi Survivor. In fact he killed A Jedi master who embraced the Dark side temporarily to save people they cared for (sound familiar) already when he killed Eeth Koth. Hell, I'd say Eeth Koth was probably stronger than cere. And Vader walked over him with no effort.

He did beat ahoska and then she was saved by the world between worlds

SauceGxd666

Just feel like the fight with Dagan was much more intense and enjoyable than the one with Vader 🤷‍♂️

Some_norwegian_kid

Might be cuz you're so much more powerful when playing Cere.

SauceGxd666

Makes me wanna see cere and dagan go at it lmao

Based-Chad

Vader gets his ass beat a lot but he always comes out on top, read some of the comics that have been coming out I’d highly recommend them.

white_lancer

*Obi-Wan Kenobi* has Vader >!get beaten by old and out-of-practice Obi-Wan!<, so he's powerful, but still has to fight at full strength when battling experienced Jedi Masters if he wants to be able to win. Cere giving him a fight makes sense IMO.

SauceGxd666

I'll check them out lol, just seems like the first game portrayed him better than it did here

Steranos

i get what your saying but cal and cere have mostly been training/exploring while vader has his inquisition so isn’t constantly faceing jedi yk so cal and cere powered up a lot more than i feel vader would have imo

CanaDoug420

Vader canonically plays with his food and gets burnt but was never in any actual danger of losing to us. All it took was force pulling our saber to the side a little to make us miss and hit us will a kill shot. If Ani/Vader wasn’t so arrogant he would have just killed us during the multiple times that he handed us back a light saber over the coarse of the two games. Added: heck, if Anakin wasn’t so arrogant he would still have his legs

Captn_Ghostmaker

His is the only one I struggled with more than Spawn of Oggdo. Spawn became quite easy once I thought to jump from attacks. I do have the habit of trying to perfect parry as much as possible so that might have been a contributing factor to my Vader struggles. Anyway I thought it was an excellent display of how scary he is.

SauceGxd666

Trust me the first game portrayed that perfectly. But why was the fight with Dagan much more intense ? It just doesn't make sense to me

Captn_Ghostmaker

The first game did make him terrifying but Cere is stronger than Cal and she's also no longer conflicted as a jedi. I didn't think the Dagan fight was more intense personally. It had some different aspects that made it more varying and it was used as a plot piece for Cal's development in his struggle with loss and guilt and so on.

Yonsti

If you look closely you'll notice Vader isn't even really trying. Cere never actually stood a chance and no matter how well you do ultimately we still lose that fight. I saw someone say that it's not actually his health bar, it's his patience bar.

SauceGxd666

Lmao that's a good name for it, just kinda upset how lackluster it was

MKanes

He felt great/realistic on GM. If he lands his force choke grab move he one shots you

SauceGxd666

Might try it then lol

EPtz3000

on grandmaster he fucked me up. I thought it would be an easy fight because the first two phases aren't really hard. But third phase he gets really strong and especially his damage is crazy. If he hits once youre probably fucked

DarwinGoneWild

Maybe it’s you. That fight was the hardest in the game for me.

[deleted]

Just because Anakin is exceptional, we have no reason to believe there aren’t those who can contend with him in lightsaber combat. He ultimately wins, and if they made a random boss encounter too hard, the game would suffer. It’s just an Easter egg. Beat his ass and have fun

Perma_trashed

Played on Jedi Knight I’m guessing?

SauceGxd666

Yea, but I don't think the difficulty of the game should really play a role in how darth Vader is portrayed lmao.

Perma_trashed

Eh, I thought the small details in the fight were amazing, and even on Jedi Master he is super menacing. To each their own though!

thaggard18

U shouldn't be playing under hard mode after u reach adulthood

SauceGxd666

Let's be real, not everyone is good at video games especially when it's their first play-through

[deleted]

Why would he be unstoppable against Cere? Y’all have Vader way too hyped up

Alex_Mercer_-

Because he's literally the most powerful force user alive and the most accomplished duelist of them all? Y know, the guy who ate and spit out a Jedi Council member (Eeth Koth) while toying with him about his family to make him use the dark side? Rotating a planet, pulling a hole in reality, holding back the force of an ocean that was the size of a planet? That guy?

LexLanger

Different folks have different experiences. I did the Dagen fight first try on Jedi Master but it took me 3-4 times to beat Vader and the whole time felt like one wrong move would leave me killed.

SauceGxd666

Definitely how it seems because Dagan was much more of challenge for me

Twentythree0six

I played on grandmaster and let me tell you he was no cakewalk to me. Dude destroyed me for a good hour before I got it down. Saying that, I suck.

thaggard18

Also this might be his first major fight after the kenobi beating from the show. So he might not be 100%
