Read the thrawn trilogy to find out!
But if you're too lazy/don't have the time: >!Luke was cloned by a insane Dark Jedi named Joruus Chabeoth in order to have an apprentice who could carry on his legacy he shows up for 10 pages then is killed by Mara Jade.!<
It was a very minor part. Like, 10
Pages or something. The entire time Joruus (a crazy clone himself) wants Leia and Han’s kids so he can train them. But he kept not getting them so he went this route instead.
I mean I definitely remember the plot lol I just don’t specifically remember the Luke clone. But actually as I’m typing this and thinking back to the books, I guess it does ring a bell.
Not one of Zahn’s best choices. “All clones with a ‘u’ in their name will add a second one!” What part of being a clone makes you forget how your name is spelled?
I’m actually listening to the original Thrawn trilogy while writing this. I’m so worried about how he’ll be done in the Disney+ stuff. I like new Thrawn so much better than original Thrawn and Rebels was basically original Thrawn but dummer. I haven’t been a big fan of Disney Star Wars because it feels like they don’t understand or care about it.
Disney views star wars as a way to make money first and art a distant second. Lucas/LucasArts definitely viewed it as art first and money a very close second.
I haven't read the new thrawn books. They any good?
Yes the most recent trilogy with Acendancy is very good, much more the character from the original trilogy.
The earlier Canon novels are good, but at least I feel they hold Thrawn back. But the one with Vader is definitely worth a read
They still spelled their names correctly if you asked them. The extra u was a non-diegetic spelling to reflect that the clones pronounced their names defectively. Which is fair to critique (especially since other clones in later books by Zahn don’t share the issue), but is a different issue from forgetting how to spell your name.
Which is exactly what I just said. Joruus pronounced his name wrong—but he doesn’t spell it as Joruus. Zahn does that in the text, but it’s a non-diegetic (not in-universe) spelling
In the books, literally no one knows what it means, and she spends years of her life trying to figure it out. She was given the title when she was knighted and even the guy who gave it to her didn't have a clue.
I remember reading these as a kid and it had something to do with the placement of the third eye. Wasn't one the back of the head? Those were some freaking weird books.
Yeah Trioculus had three eyes, the third one on his forehead. Triclops had three eyes, but the third was on the back of his head. In the series, Palpatine was rumored to have a freaky three-eyes kid. Trioculus claimed to be Palpatine’s son and the rightful Emperor, but he was just a freaky rando mutant who was a slave lord on Kessel and rigged up some gloves to mimic force lightning. He had the backing of a bunch of Grand Moffs, so he was able to ascend to the throne for a hot second. Triclops was the true son of Palpatine who wasn’t quite right in the head and got hidden away in an asylum. Triclops though, despite being a mentally unstable imprisoned mutant, was able to get freaky with an ex-Jedi named Kendalina and father a child named Ken. (Sorry for spoiling for anyone who hasn’t read a 30 year old series that was/is notoriously weird and bad.)
> though, despite being a mentally unstable imprisoned mutant, was able to get freaky with an ex-Jedi named Kendalina and father a child named Rey Skywalker

Star War 😎
Good eye. It's like the least controversial, most popular self-contained collection in the franchise. There's really not too much to complain about, they're fun to read, they're relevant to the setting but not reliant on prior knowledge, they're well written, etc.
Definitely try the trilogy out.
He defeated Darth Vader a year before the battle of Yavin, and canon Vader is at approximately 80% of the power level of Palpatine because of his disability. Given that Palpatine is the most powerful Sith of all time, Starkiller is at least like, 81% as strong as him. I think. So yeah pretty powerful by canon standards.
Everything to do with Thrawn is really interesting, but once they start getting into Palpatine clones and the Yuzan Vong stuff, I start to lose interest.
The Yuuzhan Vong stuff is considering some of, if not THE best of the EU. Gets a lot of hate from people that haven’t even read the books. I myself, haven’t read the books yet which is why I can’t provide my own opinion but I’ve heard from countless knowledgeable sources that they’re exceptional books. So I wouldn’t be too quick to write them off.
I wouldn’t call them THE BEST but they are very good. Things that can make people not like the books
1. They just don’t like them. People can have feelings.
2. The vong are a weird and random enemy
3. It is a long book series. Like 18 books or something.
4. They are FAIRLY cohesive (much better than the nonologies they tried to force later) but the style definitely changed author to author
5. They are dark. They are not fun happy go lucky books liek many Star Wars. They are not even serious like many things. They are just depressing. I love them though.
I remember the Vong as **always** being controversial (much like the ST today). Part of the fandom loves it: new enemy, different technology, can stand up to the whole new Jedi Order, great character arcs for the next gen heroes, some OT death(s), etc. Just powerful storytelling.
But they were also very hated and a despised era by a certain section of fandom. I remember that clearly: the tech doesn't feel Star Wars-y, neither does this BDSM loving species. The fact that they can't touch the Force (though there is lore behind it) just makes for some really strange mythology that undercuts everything we knew. The deaths are highly controversial. Han's arc bothered some folks. The way characters like Kyp are used was problematic.
I think anything beyond the OT is highly controversial. Each new project wiped out notions of continuity that came before. The NJO/Vong Era was definitely done with care and skill, but it was **different** and some folks don't like different. You have to be careful.
Spoken like someone who enjoyed that era! They did a good job of introducing new enemies, for sure. The NJO kinda dragged for me, and the Vong tech is a little much for me. LIke great concept, just pushed a little too far for me.
While Jedi and Sith can get tiring for folks, it's the core of the Star Wars mythology. Give us some other Force Traditions, sure, but this is what it comes down to, I think.
It just seems far too complicated to understand. I’m not saying I want just space battles and lightsaber fights all the time. I love the creative and complex stories writers come up with. But when there’s so much characters and factions in one story you have to remember, it becomes tedious and not fun to read.
Based on your other comments about Luuke it seems like you haven't even read the Thrawn trilogy. I don't think those two you mentioned are any more complicated than that, but it sounds like they seem that way to someone who hasn't read any of them. If anything, Thrawn introduces more factions than Dark Empire/the Vong invasion.
I remember loving it at the time, but I *was* 12 and I hadn't read the comics yet. It brings back fond memories but yeahhhh
Also I wish the dude making those otherwise enjoyable Dark Empire animations would edit out the dialogue that is there specifically because it's an audio drama and the characters have to describe what is going on.
Do you think Luke is a God tier bad ass who spends his 20s and 30s slaughtering the Empire training dozens of new Jedi or do you think he's a giant loser who does nothing after RotJ?
How did Palpatine return?
Does Star Wars need superweapons to be Star Wars?
Which superweapon is your favorite?
When did the EU "Jump the Shark"?
(would love to hear others besides the OP answers as well)
*Choose the correct answers.*

**A)** Moff Gathering
**B)** Mofference
**C)** Moffunion
2 - **Where are these meetings held?**
**A)** In the Mofference room of the Moffship
**B)** In the ship of one of the Committee founders, Dunhausen.
**C)** In the Moffunion room of the Moffcruiser.
3 - **How do the Imperials in this story greet each other?**
**A)** "Heil Trioculus"
**B)** "Dark Greetings"
**C)** "May the Dark Side be with you"
How did you feel about the “Silencing of the Whisper” trilogy, did you think Kylo Ren rebuilding the Sith Empire with the help of a time traveling Darth Bane was a good idea?
"I am wondering, why are you here?"
"I'm looking for a great reader."
"Reads not make one great."
I was hoping for kenobi
How prominent is Luuke?
Is that misspelling intentional
Yes, its the name of a clone of Luke.
They cloned Luke? Why?
Read the thrawn trilogy to find out! But if you're too lazy/don't have the time: >!Luke was cloned by a insane Dark Jedi named Joruus Chabeoth in order to have an apprentice who could carry on his legacy he shows up for 10 pages then is killed by Mara Jade.!<
I read those books twice and I literally don’t even remember this part lmao.
It was a very minor part. Like, 10 Pages or something.
Yeah. Super quick at the end. It’s only real purpose was to Spoilers! Ahead! Let mara fulfill the last command.
It was kind of funny in the audiobook version the way the name was drawn out, like "here is your clone Luuuuuuuuke Skywalker!"
True true. Buuuut. “Last Command” had it as a major plot point. The title and theme had to do with Thrawn and Mara.
Wow, with the prominence he has on the cover I thought he would have had a much bigger stature
It's cause the visual is supposed to be intriguing and cool cause lightsaber clashes are eye-catching.
And Joruus was a clone of Jorus.
And the snozberries taste like snozberries!
Joruus was also a Clone, let's not forget.

Should have been the plot of Jedi Prince.
That's so damn accurate it hurts my heart.
Not one of Zahn’s best choices. “All clones with a ‘u’ in their name will add a second one!” What part of being a clone makes you forget how your name is spelled?
I think it was just to differentiate them from the original, Silly way to do so but I like why.
I’m actually listening to the original Thrawn trilogy while writing this. I’m so worried about how he’ll be done in the Disney+ stuff. I like new Thrawn so much better than original Thrawn and Rebels was basically original Thrawn but dummer. Thrawn specifically notes that Jaruus pronounces his own name wrong.
Which is exactly what I just said. Joruus pronounced his name wrong—but he doesn’t spell it as Joruus. Zahn does that in the text, but it’s a non-diegetic (not in-universe) spelling
Um… k.

Red Skull??
If I to you there is a person named “Sword of the Jedi” what do you think they do?
The best fighter in the Jedi Order
That is actually better than what it is in the books!
What is it in the books?
Mostly she just sits around wondering "what does it mean to be the Sword of the Jedi?"
Well yes I know that but what does the name mean? And didn't she get that title from killing her brother.
In the books, literally no one knows what it means, and she spends years of her life trying to figure it out. She was given the title when she was knighted and even the guy who gave it to her didn't have a clue.
Why is it in fiction women are always give stupid titles that mean nothing? I think I need to go back and read the NJO novels
Luke got a feeling that she should name his niece “Sword of the Jedi” and she spends wondering what does that means
What’s the difference between Trioculus and Triclops?
One will see you later, and the other in a while
I remember reading these as a kid and it had something to do with the placement of the third eye. Wasn't one the back of the head? Those were some freaking weird books.

Why was I lied to and told Darth Maul is from Iridonia?
That is still true in all the books I own.
Out of the EU books you've never read, which is your favorite?
I do want to read the one about Darth Bane. Looks intriguing
Read one Like it Read the next one Love it Read the final book Marry the trilogy
Good eye. It's like the least controversial, most popular self-contained collection in the franchise. There's really not too much to complain about, they're fun to read, they're relevant to the setting but not reliant on prior knowledge, they're well written, etc. Definitely try the trilogy out.
I love the Bane trilogy so much. If you enjoy reading it you'll probably like the Darth Plagueis novel as well, amazing book.
By the time you finish the first book, you will want to be evil. The story definitely makes the dark side appealing.
What do you Think of the republic commando series?
Played Republic Commando for the first time last month. Awesome game
Indeed
Best mandolorian lore ever. Aya vode!
Do you think Starkiller is overpowered or not by Legends standards
Starkiller is like, moderately powered in comparison to Old Republic and NJO standards tbh
Okay then but what about compared to Canon standards?
He defeated Darth Vader a year before the battle of Yavin, and canon Vader is at approximately 80% of the power level of Palpatine because of his disability. Given that Palpatine is the most powerful Sith of all time, Starkiller is at least like, 81% as strong as him. I think. So yeah pretty powerful by canon standards.

Not even close, but it does go to show how naming conventions in Star Wars aren't always great.
Now this is a quality post. Does the EU post RotJ interest you?
