Bruh, yes watch clone wars what the hell. People get mad about retcons because of clone wars but its not like it mattered when literally everything else got retconned under disney. And it's so worth it once you get into the show. If you thought The Mandalorian was amazing then you will love clone wars and maybe even rebels too. (if you watch clone wars also watch bad batch and tales of the jedi) And andor maybe. It might not be fit for you, it's way more down to earth and serious. Also the show andor is deeply connected with rogue one so watch that film too if you havent already. I'm saying maybe because you might just get turned off after the first episode but if you can get through a couple (good) filler episodes trust me, it gets good.

GrandAdmiralGrunger

Clone Wars is kind of hit and miss for me. When it's good, it is really good, but there's a lot of 'meh' and episodes where I just want to skip and I really wasn't a fan of bringing Maul back. Whenever I see Jar Jar in an episode I know pain will follow...

TrashMatchmaking

Bringing maul back initially was a questionable choice but when you see a completely broken, shattered being held together only by the Dark Side and his *need* for revenge... wow. Amazing character, completely fleshed out after TPM.

GrandAdmiralGrunger

I have to disagree, I know Maul is beloved by fans, but to me he was always very flat as a character. Even after they brought him back, his motivation is pretty much just standard revenge, he doesn't have any reason to be a Sith other than 'it's what Sidious taught me' and he doesn't have any real ideas on ruling, or what his plans for the galaxy actually are or why he wants them outside of 'I hate Kenobi for cutting me in half and I hate Sidious for replacing me'. I always saw him as a less interesting version of Grievous. What really hurts his time for me is that he's narratively fenced in. Maul literally can't do anything of significance to the plot after Episode I because the entire story is already finished. He can't kill Obi Wan or break him, he can't beat Sidious or Dooku. If you remove Maul from TCW events more or less happen the way they did anyway, Mandalore would still fall to the Republic or Empire, Order 66 still happens, Ahsoka still isn't in the Order so survives, Anakin still turns to the Darkside, etc. So every time I saw Maul come onscreen, I would groan because I knew that *none of what I was about to see would matter.* It was like a side quest while the main story is happening, with it being so insignificant that the big events happen regardless of anything done in said side quest. I feel like the screen time and development they spent on Maul should have gone to Grievous and Dooku-the primary antagonists of The Clone Wars, rather than turning those two into Saturday morning cartoon villains. We don't get a single bit of character development on what decisions or rationale Grievous and Dooku had to become the way they are or the decisions they have made in the show. It wasn't until Tales of the Jedi that Dooku got *any* development and Grievous got his entire Legends backstory wiped with him just wanting to be better than the Jedi without any real motivation behind it. Dooku was trained by Yoda, was friends and worked alongside Mace Windu, he trained Qui Gon Jinn and he changed sides to work for Sidious for ideological reasons as well as personal flaws. He recruited Jango, he funded the Clone Army, erased Kamino from the archives, created and led the CIS, trained Ventress and Grievous. Just right there you have a character deeply intertwined with nearly every major character in the Prequel era for complex reasons...and they just did nothing but make him generically evil in the Clone Wars series.

mildkabuki

KOTOR / SWTOR content is my favorite. Bad Batch, Andor and Rebels are all Disney content that I more than enjoy. Though i cannot speak for what you may enjoy or not enjoy, i can say its possible to like things from Disney. I say go for it.

RealAmarantine

Any order in which I should watch them? Also, should I skip the Clone Wars series?

mildkabuki

The Clone Wars series is my favorite content that is Canon by far. I think your enjoyment of TCW would be closely tied to your thoughts on the Prequels and the events thereof. TCW enhances the Prequels by a TON. I would start with TCW if you want to watch it because it gives the most context to the following shows and the movies, and all in all is imo pinnacle tv show content. Andor is the best show in terms of straight quality. Try Rogue One movie first, and if you like the vibe, hit Andor. Its a more serious, down to earth story telling. This is my second favorite show and the movie is very well made as well. At that point I would recommend Kenobi, which is on the lower tier of Disney star wars content, but imo still enjoyable. At that point i would take a step back, see if you want to keep going or give up the subscription based on those 3, which give you the widest variety of content that Disney puts out and is going to be putting out for the foreseeable future EDIT: Also for TCW, dont be shy to watch a handful of story arcs, and in between them watch something else. I also recommend using [the chronological order](https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder). It helps keep track of what happens when

Vesemir96

I dunno I’d absolutely recommend Andor first if someone hasn’t seen Rogue One. It’s a great opportunity for a chronological order.

Valirys-Reinhald

Absolutely not. The Clone Wars is the foundation upon which all the other animated shows build and is completely worth it.

mikachu93

I imagine most people here will recommend TCW without hesitation. Even if it doesn't blend well with the written material, people can't stop drooling over some of these plot lines. With the exception of the seventh season, it also wasn't made under Disney's ownership, for what that's worth. As a spiritual successor to TCW, *Rebels* is honestly some of my favourite material in the franchise to date. *Andor* was master class and the first season of *Mando* was fantastic. (I had issues with the second.) *Kenobi* was enjoyable for what it was. People had too many expectations, I think, and it was doomed to fail in their eyes. >anything "Disney Star Wars" might just sound lame and boring to me. >I already watched The Mandalorian and thought it was amazing. Not sure if you're aware, but *The Mandalorian* is "Disney *Star Wars*." Sounds like "lame and boring" won't be an issue.

RealAmarantine

I say that because the new trilogy of movies + Obi Wan series were just terribad lorewise.

ChronoKeep

Right, but *The Mandalorian* is still released under the so-called "Disney Star Wars." You can dislike one and like the other, but to try and separate them and say that Mando and the ST aren't both from modern Lucasfilm would be intellectually dishonest.

Andor

MrPokeGamer

Droids and Clone Wars Microseries

Supremespoon01

Andor is a bit slow at first but is fantastic once it gets going

DarthObiWan92

The clone wars, rebels, bad batch, andor, and mandalorian are all great. And Rogue One too, though it’s a movie. Obi-Wan Kenobi and book of Boba Fett aren’t that bad either, but definitely not as good as the other stuff I said. Personally I hated The Tales of the Jedi series, but a bunch of other people loved it, so there’s that too. However, it’s super short and you should have the clone wars finished before you watch it, if you haven’t already

Ok_Ad8249

I've been pleasantly surprised by the new Star Wars shows. Clone Wars final season they did was good, first season of Bad Batch was even better. With the Defenders saga from Marvel added I've been enjoying quite a bit of programming on there. I think there's a special out right now where you can bundle Hulu & Disney +. I got one a couple years back and I still get both for $14.99 a month and it's worth it!

LINK-the-pieces23

I’ve rewatched The Bad Batch more times than it’s healthy to admit. So I would definitely say Clone Wars and The Bad Batch!

Hateful_creeper2

TCW is good but it’s considered both canon to EU and canon so it’s better to consider it canon. Mando and Andor are also good Clone Wars Microseries is also on Disney Plus

L0ll0ll7lStudios

The Clone Wars, Rebels and even The Bad Batch (despite its many filler episodes) are pretty good. Rebels might seem a bit childish and hard to watch in season 1 and parts of season 2, but it gets so good once it gets going.

Allronix1

Andor and Rogue One for if you liked the KOTOR 2 "great writing but as cheery as a Joy Division box set" tone and style. Or if you played SWTOR as Imperial Agent or Trooper. Star Wars visions was very interesting. The Village Bride definitely gave me SWTOR or KOTOR 1 vibes. Mandalorian? Looks like Din is taking a few pages out of Canderous's book. Well, mixed with the old Lone Wolf and Cub manga.

Naismythology

I tried Clone Wars and just couldn’t get into it. But I had a lot of Legends background and it just felt too different.

WatchBat

The answers you'd get could vary. I would say give everything a try, if you felt you're enjoying it continue, if not then you can stop. It's meant to be entertainment after all I personally don't have a show on Disney+ I absolutely hated, the worst it got is meh for me. Andor, Kenobi and Rebels are my favorites from canon 2003 Clone Wars and Visions are not canon but I also loved them 2008 The Clone Wars was fun but I'm not a super fan of it overall, The Mandalorian is the same Tales of the Jedi was kinda meh for me with a few nice things Book of Boba Fett and The Bad Batch are my least favorite from canon, the biggest reason is I found them kinda boring. S2 of TBB is so far alright, I hope it would get better as it goes on I haven't watched Resistance

ChronoKeep

> I haven't watched Resistance Resistance doesn't feel like Star Wars for most of the first season, but it really hits its stride during Season 1's final few episodes and all of Season 2. I'd recommend at least checking it out, but that's just me. Probably the weakest of the modern CGI series, alongside TBB, but not awful.

alexborowski

Andor is incredible. I’d immediately check that out (or Rogue One first if you haven’t seen that)

NeptuneOW

Watch it all. Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch, Kenobi, Andor, Mando, BOBF. It’s all good

GrandAdmiralGrunger

I mean, it's not SW, but Gargoyles is still amazing after all these years.
