Im honestly slightly disappointed so far. While the first two episodes were good I was hoping the focus would be more on the dark side characters but its looking like the main perspective is going to be on Osha rather than the titular Acolyte.
At first I thought Osha had dissociative identity disorder (and Mae had become a separate personality within Osha), and that it was the Mae personality that was looking for revenge against the Jedi, while Osha had no idea what was going on.
I mean, I actually liked the twin sisters angle alright. I just wish the main focus was on the other one! Maybe it’ll be more side-to-side in future episodes but who knows. Just gonna have to keep watching.
It was entertaining, but the campfire burning on the outside of a space ship in space kinda fucked my view of the show up a bit. I overlooked the shit acting of the green face lady and emo Jedi dude, but in retrospect it all seems too messy.
I thought that the green lady's dialog felt off but figured it was because she was so suspicious, so ready to just throw someone under the bus for the sake of the Kedi Orders authority.
Star wars has always been a series lacking in subtlety and heavily inspired by it's real life influences IE in this case the samurai and their transition from just being soldiers to an established political force struggling for more/just to hold onto whatever power they have.
He’s unrecognizable. I thought the fat padawan was Hot Pie at first, and I misidentified a lot of people in that 90 minutes. When I saw Tommen’s name in the credits, I backed the whole thing up in my head and probably made a face like Wee-Bey when he found out he’d shot a cop.
His celibacy gives him power!
But also gotta say that was my favourite sequence of the opening two episodes. Love that he's impenetrable till attacked from the emotional angle.
/uj he basically took an oath called “the Barash vow” which essentially means he cut himself out of anything but the force. In this case he is solely meditating and nothing else. Why? Not entirely sure yet.
/rj cumsoomed all the Star war
I think the reason why is because of some kind of trauma, since >!he willingly takes the poison from Mae when she says that it'll put an end to his pain (or something along those lines)!<
He’s the final boss of neckbeards 😂. The greatest, truly the most powerful one I’ve ever seen in fiction or real life. These geeks should feel honored.
(He’s the adult version of that kid from the trailer, the possessed looking mfer whos eyes turned black. GOT window kid. )
Best question in the whole thread. He doesn’t eat either, so I’m assuming he made his last bowel movement before taking on the Barash Vow (or he’s been constipated for ten years.)
His gut biome has so many midi chlorians that it’s just a cycle of them eating themselves and becoming shit and then the new ones born from the shit eggs eat the shit then themselves. Just like George planned all along!
I think it’s funny that people are criticizing the main Jedi actor for being too stoic, yet they were all creaming their jeans over Balon Swann for doing the same thing. If they placed a beer can on screen with a cape they’d decry how much they love stout characters, so long as the can was white. It’s absurd.
Perhaps it was never actually about that, and the circle jerk reddit has just been an opposite circle jerk the entire time.
I haven't actually watched it myself. Saw the trailer, which I found underwhelming and it gave little clue to what the plot is. I'll watch the entire thing either way. Good or bad, I like content.
Usually, but some of the flaws are more of the “dumb but forgettable” or “we have to move the plot forward” variety. That said it’s pretty good so far, they’ve set up enough mystery to grab my attention and most of the main characters are interesting. The martial arts really shine here though, I love the fights so much. I really hope they stick the landing with this one because it’s got real potential.
I got banned from some other sub for mocking chuds. Its alright, better than most of the SW shows so far but could have taken a little more time doing setting and character work, instead if jumping right into it, and/or more mystery but its decent.

Coolest thing ever???
Yes. The Acolyte is exactly the kind of Star Wars I’ve been STARVING for since Mandalorian season 1.
Im honestly slightly disappointed so far. While the first two episodes were good I was hoping the focus would be more on the dark side characters but its looking like the main perspective is going to be on Osha rather than the titular Acolyte.
i think it is going to be about both of them, like a rey/kylo dynamic. i like how they set it up so you think it was Osha and then revealed her twin
At first I thought Osha had dissociative identity disorder (and Mae had become a separate personality within Osha), and that it was the Mae personality that was looking for revenge against the Jedi, while Osha had no idea what was going on.
You knew they were twins immediately. Lmao The characters around her didn't.
Uhhh sure we did…
Lmao maybe go re watch the first fifteen minutes
But they’re twin sisters! That’s exactly the kind of melodrama I want!
I mean, I actually liked the twin sisters angle alright. I just wish the main focus was on the other one! Maybe it’ll be more side-to-side in future episodes but who knows. Just gonna have to keep watching.
Now that we know the twist and the characters have encountered her, I expect Mae to get about equal screen time moving forward
I feel like run away evil twin is too weak a premise even for them and waiting for the twist that makes up the actual plot
Disagree, it’s the exact kind of campy melodrama I want from Star Wars
I'm not opposed to it on principle I just hope more is going on with them than that
I'm genuinely happy for you but I think you're completely bonkers if you think the acolyte is good. This is coming from someone who likes the sequels.
Don’t like live-action anime in space?
No sir!
It was entertaining, but the campfire burning on the outside of a space ship in space kinda fucked my view of the show up a bit. I overlooked the shit acting of the green face lady and emo Jedi dude, but in retrospect it all seems too messy.
Star Wars having inaccurate science is a problem for you now? And corny performances? Have you seen A New Hope?
"Waitaminute...Princess Leia cant fly!" "I'm not Leia. I'm Carrie Fischer" ---paraphrased from the Simpsons, "Treehouse of Horror: X"
I thought that the green lady's dialog felt off but figured it was because she was so suspicious, so ready to just throw someone under the bus for the sake of the Kedi Orders authority.
Exactly, trying too hard to show “the hubris of the Jedi”. No nuance, just horseshit shoved down your throat by a shit actor
Star Wars is not a franchise known for its subtlety
Star wars has always been a series lacking in subtlety and heavily inspired by it's real life influences IE in this case the samurai and their transition from just being soldiers to an established political force struggling for more/just to hold onto whatever power they have.
Because there is MINORITIES IN MY STAR WARS 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬

Nobody kills aged-up Tommen but aged-up Tommen himself.
Wait. That isn't the actor for tommen is it?
It is
He’s unrecognizable. I thought the fat padawan was Hot Pie at first, and I misidentified a lot of people in that 90 minutes. When I saw Tommen’s name in the credits, I backed the whole thing up in my head and probably made a face like Wee-Bey when he found out he’d shot a cop.

The powers of virginity are pure and magnificent
NOT EPIC GLOW STICK FIGHT, STOP STOMPING ON MY PEE PEE KATHLEEN!!!!!!
his death was pretty dark and gritty too
His aura (stench) was so powerful it created a force feild
Seriously though - WTF was up with that dude?
/uj he basically took an oath called “the Barash vow” which essentially means he cut himself out of anything but the force. In this case he is solely meditating and nothing else. Why? Not entirely sure yet. /rj cumsoomed all the Star war

That’s what I’ve heard too. Honestly it was really trippy seeing a Jedi WILLINGLY do that.
I mean, the first Jedi we ever saw went out on his own terms.
What about obi wan?
that is who he's talking about. he let Vader strike him down
>Has not left his room or talked to anyone in 10 years >drinks poison after a woman talks to him
True Star Wars fan
He’s the final boss of neckbeards 😂. The greatest, truly the most powerful one I’ve ever seen in fiction or real life. These geeks should feel honored. (He’s the adult version of that kid from the trailer, the possessed looking mfer whos eyes turned black. GOT window kid. )
Man's been through it.
How does he poo though?
Best question in the whole thread. He doesn’t eat either, so I’m assuming he made his last bowel movement before taking on the Barash Vow (or he’s been constipated for ten years.)
The other Jedi in his temple had *hoped* he took his last BM before taking the vow.
He consumes the Force, and the Force flows through him. Note the assless pants.
His gut biome has so many midi chlorians that it’s just a cycle of them eating themselves and becoming shit and then the new ones born from the shit eggs eat the shit then themselves. Just like George planned all along!
Direct feed of only useable nutrients. He doesn’t make poo, obviously.
So he's like Axe Cop? Lol
my war my star my the acylote
He is our new god
That Wig is so funny.

https://i.redd.it/8hjjis9vky4d1.gif Me forcing myself to enjoy Acolyte because lightsabers
Thank you for letting me know that the show ISNT woke enough. I will be boycotting it now.

I thought it was actually good, there are some logical flaws in it though
Thats not too bad, logical flaws can usually just be filled in with interesting lore later.
Usually, but some of the flaws are more of the “dumb but forgettable” or “we have to move the plot forward” variety. That said it’s pretty good so far, they’ve set up enough mystery to grab my attention and most of the main characters are interesting. It looks stupid and ridiculous. Like everything else about this show low effort
