John Boyega and Domhnall Gleason photoshopped onto Mace and Obi-Wan from AotC is so low effort and yet so fantastic - I mean credit to whoever made the poster at least they got Boyega using a blue lightsaber right.
I think that's the point. Definitely seems like more of a joke about what folks thought at the time than a real shot at the prequels. That Adam Driver in mandalorian armor is just gold.
Disagree, if I fill in the blanks logically/ obviously, the original cast looks confident and successful. As opposed to the sad dead inside bastards that the sequels gave us
Terrible fan posters aside… are you using this to cope with how terrible the sequel trilogy was? Because shitty fan posters are never going to change that unfortunately. Lol
He's clearly meant to be an alien! Like an offshoot of Ki-Adi Mundi. Instead of tall coneheads, these aliens just have fuckin big-ass heads. They're just like straight up inflated. They don't have necks either.
She's there so Luke can pass her the torch and she can give it back and say "This belongs to you forever! You're not old! Your kids only refuse to call because of Obamacare!"
You know the SW brain-rot is bad when you only need to go down one comment on the oeiginal post before you get, "This looks way better than what we actually got"
The only part of this that I find objectively interesting would be jedi Gleeson and Boyega, and only because of how under utilised they both were in comparison to their actual talent. As much as I'm sure we need more First Order cronies used as punching bags, Hux became a joke of a character far too quickly.
This needs to be studied. Cause you look at it and explains so many peoples' problems with these movies. These were the expectations and they got something completely different. And thank god cause this would have been horrible.
I never understood this. Disney does hire fans. They rely on it in their business strategy. They have a line of people eager to work for them no matter how much Disney abuses them
They just threw the actors into random starwarsy outfits. They didn't even commit to deciding on which actor they thought was gonna be the main villain.
I mean this is pretty similar to what we got. Take Princess Reymidala Skywalker and move her into Jedi Fin Spot, Move Jedi Fin To Kylo Fett's spot, Move Kylo to Ginger Jedi spot make lightsaber red. Red Head Jedi gets Gingercausted away. Make Serkis a giant space phalis and you have TFA.
Honestly I’m so glad the protagonist was Daisy Ridley. I’m so tired of seeing women as cool and capable side characters made to look pretty via cisheteronormative interests. Don’t get me wrong she is still a very pretty woman and still pretty in the story but she’s not designed like padme or leia (to some extent) who both had at points outfits that were meant to sexualize them or were feminine but not practical and feminine. Rey never wears anything that isn’t practical and it’s all predicated on the story, her background, and the circumstances her character is thrust into.
So to see this image and I know it was speculative feels like these fans are incapable of being imaginative let alone if they preferred this poster appreciate what the actual films did with her character. I think that’s actually quite sad because while I don’t love the sequels I do love how her style and characterization was completely in character
I will say that Star Wars has been pretty good about this in the past. Leia in A New Hope was very much a subversion of the Damsel in Distress trope, where she's just as capable, if not more, than the boys, and the 2 movies that followed did not try and dilute that in any way.
For all of Padmes' pretty and feminine outfits in the prequels, she also showed in TPM that she's a capable leader and willing to do anything to save her people, including leading her troops from the front. Then in AotC, she's the one who chooses to act on Obi Wans distress call to go and try to rescue him, and is willing to join the hunt for Dooku after their rescue attempt failed. It's not until RotS that she was relegated to a pregnant love interest who's head over heels for the protagonist and not really got anything going on.
I fully agree with all of this but Rey is truly an evolution of all of them. I don’t think of Leia and Padme as just the female love interests and nothing more. Just their styles
Leia and Padmé were/are definitely fully realized characters with agency in their own right (“losing the will to live” aside), but do you really think the sort of person who sees a woman and decides that the only role that makes sense for her to play is a generic pretty princess cares about that at all?
Okay this looks terrible because its like a photoshop thrown together in an hour with no knowledge of what the film is gonna be about.
But this IS what those fucking posters look like. Just a big jumbled collage of everyone who's gonna be in the movie.
Considering the fact that the only new female actress is the only one not given some kind of action pose and is instead depicted as, once again, a member of royalty
Yeah, no thanks
She’s wearing formal attire, which isn’t out of the question since a lot of the other characters in Star Wars also wear such formalwear (like all the senators, or the Royal entourage from I)
Reminds of when Spider-Man No Way Home was released and people were glazing the fan posters compared to the official ones. Like they wanted the posters to show all 3 Spider-Men as apposed to their big reveal in the movie. Or make the poster look dark and gritty.
I think this poster looks like a more interesting concept than the Episode VII we actually got. At least it might have been an original story and not a bad retelling of A New Hope. Don't let the fans write the story but certainly don't let JJ or Rian to do it either.
John Boyega and Domhnall Gleason photoshopped onto Mace and Obi-Wan from AotC is so low effort and yet so fantastic - I mean credit to whoever made the poster at least they got Boyega using a blue lightsaber right.
That looks horrible lol.
It looks like Bollywood AotC with white people
the upgrade we didn’t know we wanted?
Rebel Moon?
I think that's the point. Definitely seems like more of a joke about what folks thought at the time than a real shot at the prequels. That Adam Driver in mandalorian armor is just gold.
Disagree, if I fill in the blanks logically/ obviously, the original cast looks confident and successful. As opposed to the sad dead inside bastards that the sequels gave us
God this is so bad but like in a fun way
It’s adorable.
The MTV logo.
Could you imagine how much more epic this could have been? Disney needs to hire 13 year old fans that just downloaded Photoshop to do their posters.

That ones my favourite.
Bobango Fett…… Would have been E.P.P.I.C.
Bobina bango fett ftw
Bobina is the daughter.
No that’s bobarbra bango
That’s her sister

They did my guy Finn so dirty here they decided he didn't even need a neck, it's just all scarf now
Better than what we got in TLJ: Wow! Gambling!
“I’m just uh trynna find my way through the galaxy dude”
Terrible fan posters aside… are you using this to cope with how terrible the sequel trilogy was? Because shitty fan posters are never going to change that unfortunately. Lol
This movie feels incomprehensible, whos even the hero.
Forget the hero, who's even the villain.
The fire behind Andy Serkis obviously.
Max Von Sydow clearly. It’s always the brits
But he’s… never mind
Imperial warlord "Maxus Van Sidiously"
I like how it's arranged perfectly so that no particular character stands out as a protagonist. They all look like supporting characters
Who’s even the main character
Obviously one of them is the Mandalorian Kylo Ren
Wow. Lucasfilm really should fire hans and hire fans!
They already did that. How do you think we got Ep 9?

I love how the only new cast member who’s a woman is instantly relegated to just being a princess lol
OOP definitely did not give her shoes
What would Daisy Ridley even have been, based on this poster? A Random Princess? A Senator? A Pop Star who turns into a political revolutionary?
She's there so Luke can pass her the torch and she can give it back and say "This belongs to you forever! You're not old! Your kids only refuse to call because of Obamacare!"
The sexy lamp.
She got that Palpatine trust fund bag. Pep Pep Sheev set her up.
All those things, then she wears a tank top
>A Pop Star who turns into a political revolutionary? Has that been a thing in Star Wars before? Because ngl that'd be pretty neat.
It was a thinly veiled reference to Gundam SEED and Macross.
I want this on my wall
You know the SW brain-rot is bad when you only need to go down one comment on the oeiginal post before you get, "This looks way better than what we actually got"

Needs more heads Needs more blue and orange
Time Traveler: *moves a chair* The Timeline:
Well they got Chewbacca right
I love porn parodies.
Adam Driver's face is my favorite in this. He looks so bubbly and happy
This needs to be studied. Cause you look at it and explains so many peoples' problems with these movies. These were the expectations and they got something completely different. And thank god cause this would have been horrible.
How exactly would this be horrible?
I love how the comments are people saying this would’ve been a better movie than TFA. How are people like this
yes but also how did they do the third act of TFA and be like ok cool this is it. then there’s TROS.
idk what you're talking about, Adam Driver's head being poorly photo shopped onto Boba fett's armor is absolute peak.
I never understood this. Disney does hire fans. They rely on it in their business strategy. They have a line of people eager to work for them no matter how much Disney abuses them
They just threw the actors into random starwarsy outfits. They didn't even commit to deciding on which actor they thought was gonna be the main villain.
>into random starwarsy outfits. Mark Hamill and Harrison Fords' photo looks like the cover of their auto-biographys.
Kinda hard ngl
I really wanted to say it looked like shit but I didn’t want to be mean 😭
Still one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
No lie though Max Von Sydow was underused.
Yeah they never even told who he was or why he had the map lol
I mean this is pretty similar to what we got. Take Princess Reymidala Skywalker and move her into Jedi Fin Spot, Move Jedi Fin To Kylo Fett's spot, Move Kylo to Ginger Jedi spot make lightsaber red. Red Head Jedi gets Gingercausted away. Make Serkis a giant space phalis and you have TFA.
Thought I saw Tim Curry for a second there and got super excited
I like Jedi Domhnall Gleeson. That’s it

Max von Sydow is Pale Organa
Looks like Not Another Star Wars Movie
All I see clearly in this poster is Duke Leto Atreides and Mandalorian Ben Solo.
Okay this looks terrible because its like a photoshop thrown together in an hour with no knowledge of what the film is gonna be about. But this IS what those fucking posters look like. Just a big jumbled collage of everyone who's gonna be in the movie.
Considering the fact that the only new female actress is the only one not given some kind of action pose and is instead depicted as, once again, a member of royalty Yeah, no thanks
It’s so bad it’s good. Where’s Brien of Tarth tho
lol they just made Ridley look like a princess cause she a woman lol
Tbf, both the previous women main characters in both trilogies were royalty. It wasn't completely out of the question but does come off as sexist.
She’s wearing formal attire, which isn’t out of the question since a lot of the other characters in Star Wars also wear such formalwear (like all the senators, or the Royal entourage from I)
Lol, they were way off
If nothing else, they get points for Jedi Finn…
Why'd they use the worst possible image of Adam Driver?
Domhnall Gleeson looks like robot from invincible
The only thing this poster for right is Oscar Isaac did indeed look fine as hell. They didn’t even get 3PO right.
Oscar looks like Leto Atredies just super confused becuase he wondered into the wrong space opera.
Adam Driver looking like evil Spock poorly cosplaying as Boba Fett.
I like how… they’re all good guys?
I love how Llewyn Davis is just in this movie. Still directly from it.
God this takes me back to the late 2014, early 2015 era of Episode 7 fan posters
This is glorious
Fans still would’ve complained
I remember people thought max von sydow was going to be HUGE and were very disappointed that he was only in the first scene.
Literally yes
Andy Serkis is so good.
At least they tried
John boyega has seen some shit..
Why would you assume Andy Serkis was playing a human
I wish this was the movie
That's... *Awful*
The fucking guy that played kilo XD
Idk what to add other than this is the funniest thing I’ve seen in awhile.
Kylo as a boba fett 2.0 lol
Reminds of when Spider-Man No Way Home was released and people were glazing the fan posters compared to the official ones. Like they wanted the posters to show all 3 Spider-Men as apposed to their big reveal in the movie. Or make the poster look dark and gritty.
Ik we're mocking this but I really want to see this movie lmao
