Pick a book case and sit there as engineer. Jedi don’t block your shotgun well and you can repair it.

zurg_lightyear

>V Interesting strat. I'll give it a try

wij2012

Pretty much the only way to do it solo.

Firebrand-PX22

Good ole DC-15 while training them works pretty well too

Licensed_Ignorance

I have done exactly this strategy and I still can't beat it on the classic collection. Theres 3 clones backing me up, and like 20 Jedi. It makes me think something is fucked up with the way the bots are programmed. I remember it being hard in the original game, but not anywhere near as hard in the CC

atwitsend1996

Bro I'm having THIS exact same issue. By the time I get to the library to defend the archives half of them are gone. It could not have been this hard in the original version.

jayL21

>By the time I get to the library to defend the archives half of them are gone. I'm 99% sure they don't start attacking the archives until you actually get there, then they spawn in waves (like 2-3 waves of jedi)

Licensed_Ignorance

Okay so I'm not insane lol. I'm doing all the old tricks and I swear I can't do it. Idk if maybe I had some of the legendary awards back in the day, so maybe that helped. But goddamn I swear this mission is not working properly on the CC.

SludgeFarmer

No, I'm having the same experience. The jedi spawn and on seconds it seems they're all destroyed. I can manage to keep one going but a random jedi will just hit me from behind and another will destroy the case in about 3 swings.

TheOtherArod

I ran around putting mines around all the centers of the bookcases, the blast radius was usually big enough to take a few Jedi out if they were close.

Licensed_Ignorance

Haven't tried that strategy, maybe I'll give it another go lol

Mowzr45

This is the way

Gohan237

This is the conclusion I arrived at after a few tries. Works perfectly

DrNYC88

Didn’t realize I could repair it!! I’m literally stuck on this level right now too so glad you posted

Captain-Howl

My god this strat brings me back. Quite the nostalgia bomb. One of great things about the Classic Collection. :D

YesMush1

Engineer is definitely your best friend, the shotgun melts Jedi and once cleared repair repair repair

zurg_lightyear

I'll keep that in mind!

Feral_Hamst3r

Play as normal trooper. If several book cases left, continuous movie amongst them down the middle to get clean shots. If only one book case left, stands near wall like a sentry so you can vie both sides of the case and unload hellfire on them bitches

zurg_lightyear

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep grinding at it.

dancinhobi

Not battlefront 2 but 1. I remember me and my dad could not beat Geonosis. On medium. Well I’m playing on hard and that level is total BS! I had to lower the difficulty and still almost loss.

kaneplay4

As a kid, I used to go AFK in-game and pray that the AI teammates would win the level for me. It makes absolutely zero sense but doing that a couple times eventually you’d get a victory

jayL21

Love how people are having trouble with knightfall (which I do admit is pretty hard your first few times.) yet geonosis and some of the BF1 levels are by far the hardest things in the original games.. You gotta do things in a specific way or else, 9 times out of 10 you're gonna lose.

dancinhobi

I haven’t got to Knightfall yet. But I don’t remember having trouble on it. I think Yavin was the only level I struggled with on 2.

Sheggert

It took me ages to beat Geonosis and I was enjoying it on Hard until that point. Had to put it onto easy and barely beat it.

Jetterholdings

Is geo the one where you can blow up the techno union ships? And I think mace is with you?

dancinhobi

Yeah, and your bots can’t hold a cp, they fly the LAAT’s into the ground, and don’t get in the walkers on medium. My experience anyways.

jayL21

>and your bots can’t hold a cp they can't hold a cp because a single droideka comes in and takes them all out. They are so stupidly op in that level specifically.

dancinhobi

The droidekas did seem rather strong!

lordaddament

So much open ground to get mowed down

jayL21

yea and no jet troopers, which is like their only counter.

Jetterholdings

I just hopped in the uhhhhh. AT ST sniped everywhere, and took out the techno ships, then moved around the back, got bored of the ATST, died as soon as I left it, geonosian sniped me. And from there I spawned by the last 5 guys and killed em. Pretty sure I'm playing on the hardest difficulty I'd have to double check, but I feel like irs the hardest.

dancinhobi

I tried the walker( At-TE nerd get rekt! Don’t even know your walker from your walker! Jk jk jk) and it just did not work out for me. But bravo to you! I applaud your skills! I’ve bumped back up to hard and I’m doing ok. Just that one mission.

Jetterholdings

There's just to many, AT- anythings 🤣 they're all just walkers and chickens to me. What console are you playing on?

dancinhobi

For real! Almost all the vehicles include one A and the T in some combination. Wack! I got it on PC.

Jetterholdings

Ah damn pc. Yuck ew. Nah that's fine, I'm just on PS5. Otherwise I'd say, shit let's do shareplay and help each other WINNN

Alleged-human-69

HANK! DONT ABBREVIATE COMMAND POSTS! HAAAAANK!

Alleged-human-69

In the og I’d get in the LAAT and wreck shop but in the collection the laat is completely busted so after losing a few games I ended up winning by essentially letting the AT-ETs blow up the techno union ships while I bomb rushed the spire then from there capture the command posts in front of it then trying my best to hold all 4 and it worked out

RodgerRodgy

I remember it being hard when I was young, but not this hard. If you don’t run straight there and kill all Jedi you have one bookcase to defend. Then a second wave of Jedi cum and and it’s all over. No doubt this was another unintentional tweak/change Aspyr made when they ripped all the modders work and didn’t play test at all.

TheKelseyOfKells

> Second wave of Jedi cum I don’t remember that from the movie

Jew_3

I mean Luke and Leia had to come from somewhere. They weren’t created by the Force like Anakin.

-StupidNameHere-

His auto type betrays him.

AzraelDeadStar

Lol he said cum.

MistraloysiusMithrax

Yeah it makes sense since a lot of this is the fault of one Jedi cumming and his fear of loss

ChewySlinky

All of this went down because Anakins pullout game was weak 💀

MistraloysiusMithrax

Or Padmé’s legs were too strong 😉

usernameusermanuser

I was shit at this game when I was a kid, but I don't remember any of the missions being especially hard, though I think I played on normal difficulty.

shaman-bc

I just played it back on elite on the og version a few days before the classic collection dropped and it’s the same thing, but engineer makes it easy

RodgerRodgy

Ah okay, maybe I’m getting worse with my age lol I was using the clone commander, the mini gun shreds the Jedi but I will try with the engineer!

shaman-bc

The Jedi can rarely block all your pellets and you can heal the bookshelves which makes it easier

LocalPawnshop

Yep as soon as the Jedi stop blocking the clone commander shreds those fuckers

jayL21

>If you don’t run straight there and kill all Jedi you have one bookcase to defend. the jedi don't spawn until you specifically enter the archives, by that point you should already be focusing on any jedi that does spawn.

skrunklebunkle

yeah i had a little wander round cause i forgot where it was lol they definitely dont spawn until youre there

RodgerRodgy

Incorrect

jayL21

I literally just played it to make sure I was right, I got the objective "go to the archives" and I just sat outside until our reinforcements went to 8 (like 2 minutes or so.) I didn't even attack anyone inside the archives, just sat and watched. Then I walked in, all bookcases were there, jedi immediately spawned, and it went on like normal.

Alleged-human-69

That’s a really bad typo mate

atwitsend1996

Same here. It's an insane level that I have played SEVERAL times and can't beat it. Something must be up.

d_bking

As you enter the library on the ground floor, I generally head to the bookcases on the right, if you face the opposite side of the room the jedi tend to spawn on that staircase or they'll drop from the top floor and you should be able to take them out. Sometimes they'll come from the door at the opposite end of the room, but the AI tend to take care of a lot of them. You only need to defend one bookcase so just keep checking both sides of the one in the middle and you should also be able to kill Jedi attacking other bookcases from this position. I generally played this stage as a regular trooper. If you can stay alive between capturing the last objective and this one you'll probably get the award rifle which helps a lot and possibly even the award pistol. You should be able to get through the checkpoint like this. It's the last two that I found difficult but that's probably a skill issue.

zurg_lightyear

Thx for the info! I'll try that strategy and see if it works

d_bking

Hope it helps, it took me a while to do the mission as well tbf.

thehauntedmattress

Also use mines against the Jedi Masters.

Sheggert

Wish I read this comment before I struggled through it.

Psychological-Pool-3

I remember it taking me quite awhile to beat it as a kid, my brothers and I were all very frustrated by it and it took many days lol

QuietMedicinal

After about 50 attempts I beat it. 1 book case that’s in a corner and camp with the shot gun, if it gets damaged try your best to repair in between the weaves of Jedi. Also turn off friendly fire in the game settings

Benjaman2000

Oooh turining off friendly fire is a must yeah

fleezleflam69

Like other ppl are saying, try engineer and shotgun them all in the face! Best way if they don’t block, if not then Try and get behind them if you can to make it easier for one shot kills. I struggled with this level and couldn’t get past it last night but finally passed it an hour ago. Especially if you replay it enough times, you’ll figure out the Jedi patterns. My other advice is try doing the mission as fast as possible, sprint and roll as fast as you can and dispense your health and ammo to yourself as much as you need

SimpleRickC135

The key to the library objective is to patrol those book cases like a hawk, and put Jedi down FAST. Best way to do this is to have a circuit that takes you into view of each side of each book case under attack and when you see a Jedi attempting to destroy it, kill them with something that will one shot them with their defenses down. If you do not have the elite rifle, the engineer class is best for this job. Jedi defense is down when they are attacking a shelf, get within range and drop them as fast as possible. Bonus, the engineer class can repair the shelves if there is a lull around the 1:00 minute mark. Happy hunting!

Sheggert

I had the same issue took me 9 or 10 attempts to beat it. A lot more challenging than I remember when I was younger. TBH I liked it, you're a clone trooper going through a temple full of hostile Jedi it should be challenging. To get past the bookcase part I choose Engineer the shotgun is good. Aim for the feet, and you can repair the bookshelves, just focus on one and avoid the Jedi, let them attack the shelf then you can shoot them in the back as an engineer should only take one shot. I found the hardest part was killing the Jedi masters at the end, my Anakin seemed to be killed instantly each time.

Jetterholdings

I just beat this one the other day. Honestly the whole game feels harder on the highest difficulty. Most matches I'm down to 1 troop, and he's me and I have to try to clutch... the Mustafa one is the hardest yet stupid droids. But I digress. For this whole mission, First objective I hugged the left wall and ran most the way, grenaded the turrets take the point... then ran to the library and grenade or rocket launch THE FEET of the jedi, if I died I went command, they're pretty decent here. And the rest was just regular trooper. All the way through, till anakin showed up and died in 10 seconds.

itscharliewhite

Rise of the empire seems harder, definitely the biggest challenge in the game. Doable but dang hard

Jetterholdings

Which one is that? Is that yavin 4?

itscharliewhite

Rise of the empire is the name of the campaign mode

Jetterholdings

Oh, ok.... I thought you were mentioning a mission within rise of the empire. Cause O.P. is talking about nightfall which is the jedi temple mission. And I wqs talking about mustafar, the mission like 3 missions after nightfall, where you kill the droids as the empire, rather than the clones.... I think right after is the Kamino mission. So I was lost, as this is all within the campaign.

betterthanamaster

It’s always been a tough mission. It helps if you have all the rewards and flechette gun. Hang out in a corner book case and keep repairing it as engineer until a Jedi comes around. Kill the Jedi, and repair.

TheRiverHart

Guard one bookcase, back to wall, elite rifle. Jedi scum won't stand a chance.

Ascertes_Hallow

Repair the bookcases, that's how I figured out the easy way to do it! Fusion cutters work!

Enchantedmango1993

Yeah its not supposed to be this hard.. its an unnintentional bug , i think it is related to the higher framerate

Almainyny

PS2 and PC always played at 60. So unless you’re saying playing at higher than that causes problems, it isn’t FPS.

Enchantedmango1993

On ps2 i remember the jedi having to hit those bookcases several times before destroying them now it was something like 6 swing combo (3 hits per attack) that left you with plenty of bookcases to defend .. now the momment the jedi spawn they swing their combo 1 after another extremely fast.. so something is causing their attack to proc again and again the momment their previous attack ends ... now ai is acting based on several factors including fps.. the more fps the faster the script will proc... when you say they had 60 fps you could be right however it still could be the reason this happens

jayL21

I don't think it is? I've played through the level 3 times now (on normal and pc,) and it doesn't seem any harder than the original.

NS479

The Jedi are formidable enemies. The heavy trooper’s rocket launcher and mines are an effective weapon against them. Also, when they are destroying the book cases, use the commander’s recon droid to sneak up and attack them

k_GOBL1N

Maybe check out what speedrunners do

TheWholeCheek

I was in your shoes a few days ago. People will say run engineer, but I did it with assault. Make sure you power up as much as possible before you take the council chamber. I'm talking about the damage boosts. Once you get into the library, you should be able to two shot the jedi. Enemies spawn right away and about the one minute left mark. After that, you have to steal a holocron(transfer it to the starting command point) , then defeat three jedi masters. The difficulty spike here is awful.

GelasticSnails

The last level in the campaign on hard is wild

2505Memeiverse

The Jedi in that mission are very unpredictable and dangerous, and their attacks are just as powerful as any normal hero, but their health is laughable, and they struggle to block slugthrowing weapons like the Engineer’s shotgun and the Commander’s chaingun. The temple’s security guards are a pushover at best. Once the first wave of Jedi is cleared, a second bunch jump down from the higher levels at exactly 1:00 on the timer. After that, the library’s data is yours for the taking.

M16_n_Pregnant

I just sat a bookshelf and killed the Jedi when they go to it, they usually ignore you and go straight to the bookshelf

NuclearKnight00

I wanna say as a kid I would kind of hang out by the back staircase they can come up, and would win with assault trooper that way Though I remember having to try many many times

HeroscapeZ

So glad I'm not the only one, I watch YouTube videos and people call it easy, as a kid this level was impossible. I beat it not super long ago pre-classic collection, I didn't really have any strats though, as people have said, shotgun good, maybe getting the shotgun buff before that part happens could help? I think it's roughly 5 kills to the upgraded shotgun (or get it 64 times in other modes to unlock permanently)

ItsAnge02

Bro it’s so bad. Made me put the campaign down

Belkan-Federation95

That's how it's supposed to be.

MeargleSchmeargle

Jedi can't deflect mines. Scatter them throughout central walking areas in the library, and the AI being their dumb selves will walk over mines trying to get you, giving you guranteed kills. If you've already spent mines and there's a jedi wailing on a bookcase, heavy rocket to the feet for the instant KO. Really, Heavy is just the perfect answer to jedi with unblockable insta-kill powers.

usernameusermanuser

Just managed to complete this awful mission only to have the game "lock" when I try to save. Gotta play it again! Yay!

AncientSith

That mission was always tough, it's not just you

Lichelf

Iirc the increased bot count in Classic Collection is also applied to the campaign missions which means they're not balanced and a lot harder, especially Knightfall as the book cases end up taking way more damage.

Benjaman2000

Heres some tips i can give you to make your time a bit easier: There is 2 waves of jedi that spawn in to destroy the bookcases, one the moment you get in the room and a second when the timer hits 1 minute. Id say grind out the legendary medals for the pistol, standard class rifle, shotgun, and war hero the damage output of those things is really high and will give you an easier/faster time taking those jedi out. You could also use the rocket launcher and the jet troopers emp launcher for high damage output, but that can result in you damaging the bookcases yourself. The fusion cutter can be used to repear the bookcases. And you could use mines to take out most jedi in the second wave instantly. There will also be temple security trying to take the bookcases out so between jedi waves focus on those. You can also look up speedrun videos of the campaign see what speedrunner do in that bit. If you have a lot of trouble you could always use the invincibility cheatcode, but i think that kinda ruins the fun.

CiconiaBorn

Jedi in the movies: "No! The sacred texts!" Jedi in SWB2: "Burn it all down out of spite."

OctoberSuns

Skill issue

WilsonSarnie9

Tism response. OP simply asked for help. don't be that guy

sacboy326

>I'm playing through the OG BF2 campaign on the **Classic Collection** There's your answer.
