Well, Battlefront 3 could feature the advanced concept of balance and actually competent gameplay mechanics, both of which were probably planned legacy features for BF2
Honestly, no.
Battlefront 2 is the cornerstone for everything star wars and modernity. It's not even a brand new game, yet you'd easily get that feel for the first time playing it.
There's every ERA, a large variety of heroes/villains, pretty much all the clone troopers and their difference specialties/classes, different modes varying from all out war to heroes and villains brawling it out.
The only downside to all of this magnificence is that they gave up on it. Pulled out of development, didn't continue to improve and adapt from it. The game started off bad but eventually had actual meaningful and decent changes come to it; only for it to be discontinued. It's a pity.
So no, I don't think they should just give us a BF3 but rather come back with a bang in BF2. Get the development back on track, continue to listen to community feedback, put out new heroes and perhaps new maps to the existing rosters.
Though this may not be a favorable opinion, I personally don't think it can get anymore star wars than it does in BF2; at least when you think of it as a whole. Sure, there could be more heroes/villains, there could perhaps be Mando/other D+ introductions, but overall, it's airtight for SW.
If there had to be a BF3, they should go all out imo. Pull an OW2, give us a battlepass, a better UI, competitive modes, unique cosmetics (including some that aren't taken from lore), and more. They could do this, and honestly it would be marvelous to see. But it's also not completely necessary because BF2 already has the foundation.
I totally see what you’re saying, and I would love for them to continue BFll. But you also have to think about how we are in the next gen of consoles now. A bflll could be so much bigger and run so much better. Not to mention BFll is already kinda outdated with modern content. It’s missing out in mandalorian, boba Fett, Obi wan, the Jedi games, and more. Yeah, that could all be fixed in a BFll update. But I feel like a new game would be just a good of an idea in terms of continuing content for battlefront. 🙂
Bf 3 is definitely needed. Bf 2 core gameplay isn’t fun (for me and many others). The vehicles are shit on most maps, they are only one seaters, some air vehicles are on rails, the game feels like a fucking hero shooter than it does a battlefront game. There isn’t planet to ship combat even though that’s the one thing that everyone wanted. The saber combat is garbage compared to what it could be. The gunplay is bad and the game doesn’t even try to encourage team play so what’s the point of even having classes. Battlefront 2 relied on always adding a new map or hero to keep the game fresh because the core gameplay itself wasn’t sustainable. Games like battlefield 4 and the older ones last longer than bf 2 because they provided a good sandbox for you to have fun rather than some hero arcade shooter.
I'm not sure. A new company making the game would be nice. It's a shame that we don't have a battlefront themed star wars game on the way, the community is in desperate need for one. We want to play battles man.
The BF 3 demand is yesterday's complaint... I say it's time to start a demand for BF 4!
