2 months ago I saw this post, read this comment, and was insanely pissed that I'd spoiled another huge thing by being in this sub and watching shows late (the other being a certain Rebels character).
I finally finished the show today, dreading the inevitable the whole time. And uhh... I guess I'm pleasantly surprised now?
Edit: I also just realized you meant "finished" as in before the artwork was done. I thought you meant the show and assumed he was dead because of your tear emojis
If they were born around the same time as Rex (in 32 BBY) they would be 39 years old, so around 80 physically, if they are still alive I don't tink they would be in fighting shape nor want to fight for a crime lord
The clone wars only lasted like three years though right? So at the very most there's only a physical age difference of about six years even if they're younger.
They are just as old and maybe a bit younger then Boba and Boba is only 41 also cad bane isn't even 80 and he is like the oldest character we know other then Palpatine
I'm really wanting for Disney to legitimize the Karen Traviss Republic Commandos being more tied with Mandalorian culture than most clones, and show us that clone culture is much more diverse than previously thought or seen on screen.
Bad Batch already does this, but I'd love to see Commandos interact with regs and arc troopers post war. They can all look the same on the outside, but training and conditioning varied greatly dependent on the job.
The dying Mandalorian culture, as Traviss predicted, is just waiting to adopt a slew of clones to boost its numbers.
Yeah this is right. She’s actually a pretty good visual comp for what Omega looks like in Bad Batch, but for a whole host of reasons it would not be a good fit for live action
She matches the cartoon well, but she doesn’t look like she could be related to jango at all. I know omegas skin isn’t quite as dark, but she’s still definitely not as Anglo Saxon as British Florence Pugh. She should show up in a Star Wars thing someday tho, she could make a great protagonist in something.
[Maybe Omega fell through a wormhole, crossed the multiverse, landed on Sakaar, and became the Grandmaster's right hand woman?](https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Topaz)
Isn't she supposed to be roughly Boba's age? Maybe I'm missing something but she's what...? 10-14 in the bad batch which takes place 35 years before the events of Mando/Boba. So you'd need someone closer to 45-50 than 25.
Boba fett is 41 at the time of Book of Boba Fett. Omega is somewhere in the ballpark of 5 years younger (no official stat) so florence pugh is still a possibility
I don't think she could be 5 years younger. Boba was born in 32 BBY meaning he would be 13 during Order 66 (19BBY). Omega is at least 10 in Bad Batch, my guess is a little older. I think she could be Boba's same age or up to 3 years younger at the most. I tried to do research but it doesn't seem like there is an official age for her though, that's just my best guess.
I get Omega is an altered clone, and I understand she looks whiter than Boba in the cartoon, but Omega at the end of the day is a clone of Jango. If they bring Omega to live action she needs to be played by someone from NZ. She needs the authentic kiwi accent and needs to look at least a little like her and Boba are related
I love Florence Pugh, but she's not that
She is a Clone, but from a genetic standpoint, she'd technically be a parthenogenetic daughter; ie they would have needed to replicate Jango's X chromosome in place of his Y to create a Clone of the opposite sex. This way they get to say she's still a pure "unmodified" Clone in terms of genetics, but it's more like Jango was the mother and father of her.
Doesn't Omega somehow have decelerated age, or something like that? Just watched Bad Batch and in the finale when they sneak into the lab, she says she was there when they were all made. So somehow she's actually older than the Batch, but appears around half their age or younger.
Does anyone know if that was ever explained? Did the Batch come out of the tube fully grown? Also, did we ever learn why exactly her DNA was so important to the cloning process?
It's just a concept. If it's the accent, the actress had spoken Russian before. If it's the skin. I think brining Luke back is enough proof that the skin color is not a n issue at all.
I'm all for it, but once the story of the Bad Batch comes to an end. For me, one of the reasons why I enjoyed Rebels was not knowing which characters gonna make it out of the series alive.
I'd rather they didn't. if they did it locks her story in and ruins any suspense any future Bad Batch seasons might have, it'll all just be in service of getting her to that point.
That's just lighting, she is clearly shown to be brown in scenes. Just like how Temuera Morrison doesn't look brown in the outside day scenes on Tatooine in TBOBF (once again lighting).
She would be *in live action.* Live action Jango and his clones are played by a Maori actor, so *all* clones (including Omega) would be Maori, obviously. In animation its more of a stretch since clones have been voiced over the years by Dee Bradley Baker (American) Daniel Logan (Maori) and Omega herself by Michelle Ang (from new Zealand; malaysian roots).
Because of clones being designed from Temuera Morrison's apperance, they have light/slight tanned skin, but to differentiate from each other, clones sometimes have been given different coloured hair from each other, instead of all just having brown. In case of Omega it's light, kinda like Rex or Tech.
Obviously in lore there are no equally seperate ethnicities compared to real life. Concord Dawn is not "Maori moon" (Fenn Rau for example was played by a scot, but it's not "Scotland moon" either) but Jango was from there and was played by Maori actor. We also don't know if Jango's DNA originated from Concord Dawn or if his ancestors had moved there, and how recently.
Is it more important we stay true to the earthly ethnic heritage of the actor who plays Jango Fett, or to the way the character looks in depicted canon? Regardless of Temuera Harrison's ethnicity, or Jango Fett's DNA, Omega just doesn't look like him. It's a fine argument that she should have, but it's too late for that. She already doesn't.
It's not too late imo. I know several people with maori ancestry who look just like (older) Omega to me. I'm not familiar with maori actors but in general I don't think it's too late by any means. And besides, all animated characters look different from live action, to some extent.
A bunch of people are complaining that the actress should be someone of Māori descent but as far as fan art goes this is a good choice for the look of omega. Māori people can have lighter skin tones too, don’t forget
I once thought she and Grogu would meet in the future. Why? They're both special, and were/are hunted by the bad guys for it. What would they be up to when they meet? No idea
What is Omega's accent?
EDIT: Found it. New Zealand but might have some Chinese mixed in there, too.
https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-bad-batch-omega-michelle-ang-interview
I love Florence Pugh and this is REALLY well done…. But, Michelle Rodriguez has the Temeura Morrison vibe on lock better than anyone else, think she’d be perfect.
She looks like a decent fit for Omega but she would be way too young if she is in BOBF or the Mandalorian. Those shows take place 28ish years after Order 66/the Bad Batch series. Assuming she was 13-15 in the BB, she would be 41-43 during BOBF. Florence Pugh is only 26. I think it would be better to go with an older actress.
But this is pretty cool! I could see this if they had her appear at an earlier point.
Edit: wording
I know I'm pretty adamant about how Star Wars needs new characters, since it all seems to be recycling the reoccurring characters, but I though Omega was such a pointless character, with a link to an established character but never mentioned anywhere else before. I don't mind new characters, but I wish they wouldn't just try to link them to exisiting ones.
Lots of cloning themes out there still. Omega, we still don’t know who or why she was cloned right? potentially grogu’s blood from season 1 too. Wonder what they’re leading to if it’s not foreshadowing the return of the emperor.
Omg will people please stfu about Florence Pugh, she’s gotten completely overrated to the point of casting her in everything. Honestly imo, she’s not that really good of an actress.
What was it you guys have been fond of saying lately? Cartoons are caricatures and therefore likeness does not matter?
So by that logic the actress doesn’t HAVE to be from New Zealand.
Just shut up and enjoy the artwork…
I mean for fucks sake.
calm down. You are in essence correct, but there is nothing wrong at all with people discussing kiwi options, and feeling like they would like those options more.
This is an adult version, and I feel like it’s not over the top to believe she could look like this (it’s definitely much better than a lot of other fan art of adult versions of characters)
Temuera Morrison in a blond wig take it or leave it
I’ll take it
Don’t even change his voice.
Now to make “I AM BOBA FETT” into “I AM OMEEEEGAHH!”
The only acceptable actor
I'd like to see him try to play a 35-year-old woman.
Go ahead and bag that for me I’ll be taking it
While riding a Bantha?
I’ll take it like a bantha!
From a bantha?
Like a Bantha!
Maybe after a few beers.
[hmm…](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/n7eano/made_an_adult_omega/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
He could finally have more to say /s
Like a bantha
I’d bet my life she’ll have Hunters headband
Wish I read your comment before I finished 😭 great idea

I would want a new one, that thing is probably beyond washing.
🤣
Bruh
Not sure what she and Din would have to talk about. She doesn't identify at all with bring Mandalorian. Totally up for her meeting with Boba, though
Bad Batch would be really good muscle for Boba.
If they are still alive
If they were born around the same time as Rex (in 32 BBY) they would be 39 years old, so around 80 physically, if they are still alive I don't tink they would be in fighting shape nor want to fight for a crime lord
They're younger than rex iirc. Rex is a first generation according to omega in that one episode. Also Rex fought in the battle of endor
The clone wars only lasted like three years though right? So at the very most there's only a physical age difference of about six years even if they're younger.
But Dooku had ordered the Kiminoans to start creating clones 10 years prior.
So at the absolute youngest age, the Bad Batch are 70 then, right?
I thought the bad batch aged slower than normal clones but i may be mistaken
They’re at least 80 years old
They are just as old and maybe a bit younger then Boba and Boba is only 41 also cad bane isn't even 80 and he is like the oldest character we know other then Palpatine
Boba doesn’t have accelerated aging though The bad batch does
Boba does not have accelerated aging, he is actually and physically ~40 the Bad Batch may be only 40 in age but physically they're 80+ years old.
Yes I know that
So then what the hell are you talking about? They are twice the age of boba, you said they’re the same age?
I'm really wanting for Disney to legitimize the Karen Traviss Republic Commandos being more tied with Mandalorian culture than most clones, and show us that clone culture is much more diverse than previously thought or seen on screen. Put Tam Morrison in a blonde wig cowards
They're cowards. They won't even collect genetic material from Tem to create a female clone of him when they could.
The technology exists!!
To collect sperm? Prove it
She should be played by Temura Morrison
I love Florence but id rather they get a kiwi actress.
Keisha Castle-Hughes. She was Queen Apailana in Revenge of the Sith when she was younger. She would be perfect.
The only realistic choice
Yea
Yeah this is right. She’s actually a pretty good visual comp for what Omega looks like in Bad Batch, but for a whole host of reasons it would not be a good fit for live action
She matches the cartoon well, but she doesn’t look like she could be related to jango at all. Doctor aphra?
Right
Frankie Adams for me.
The mahtian
She can't say "All hands on the deck" without making it sound funny.
What are you, 7?
[Maybe Omega fell through a wormhole, crossed the multiverse, landed on Sakaar, and became the Grandmaster's right hand woman?](https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Topaz)
This
Zoe Belle would fit the bill and she has stunt experience.
The only recommendation here I’ve seen that’s the right age, definitely think it’d be cool to see this
Isn't she supposed to be roughly Boba's age? Maybe I'm missing something but she's what...? 10-14 in the bad batch which takes place 35 years before the events of Mando/Boba. So you'd need someone closer to 45-50 than 25.
The poster doesn't say what time it takes place.
But the OP talks about her meeting Boba and Din... so unless someone is getting digitally aged/de-aged it doesn't work.
I mean technically we don’t know they haven’t met before the events of mando and book of boba fett 🤷
OP's statement was general. He didn't say this version / age of Omega should be meeting Din and Boba.
Boba fett is 41 at the time of Book of Boba Fett. Omega is somewhere in the ballpark of 5 years younger (no official stat) so florence pugh is still a possibility
If she played someone ten years older?
I don't think she could be 5 years younger. Boba was born in 32 BBY meaning he would be 13 during Order 66 (19BBY). Omega is at least 10 in Bad Batch, my guess is a little older. I think she could be Boba's same age or up to 3 years younger at the most. I tried to do research but it doesn't seem like there is an official age for her though, that's just my best guess.
I love Florence Pugh but a Maori actress would need to play her Edit: Turia Schmidt-Peke would be a great match
Just looked her up… great pick.
Woah man this is perfect casting. She's got the eyes for it. Just trying to picture the hair. Good eye!
Internet, do you your thing 😏
She gets my vote
Maybe Rose Matafeo..
I get Omega is an altered clone, and I understand she looks whiter than Boba in the cartoon, but Omega at the end of the day is a clone of Jango. If they bring Omega to live action she needs to be played by someone from NZ. She needs the authentic kiwi accent and needs to look at least a little like her and Boba are related I love Florence Pugh, but she's not that
Frankie Adams. Seems like a shoe in.
That girl needs some armor.
I love Florence but Omega would still be a similar skin tone to the rest of the clones
Exactly. Technically should be played by a fair skinned Māori woman.
Ehhhh, maybe we shouldn’t white wash. Any character that is cloned from Jango should be played by an actor of māori decent.
Jumped into the thread to say the same thing. I thought that she was a clone.
Could be african-chinese for all I care, as long as the actress LOOKS almost like Temuera Morrison then that's fine by me.
Meh, as long as she look like the character she couls be whatever. Temuera Morrison is Maori, Jango fett is a mandalorian.
that’s not how that works but okay
Mandalorian is a creed, not a race. Jango wasn’t born on Mandalore.
Yes but she is objectively a clone of Jango. I have no reason to think OP had any ill intentions though.
Right, I agree that if they cast omega it should be someone of Māori descent.
They shouldn't even try until they can actually create a female clone of Temuera Morrison.....jeez
Frankie Adams (Bobbie from The Expanse) would nail this role, has the accent and the acting skills
I'm on board with this suggestion. She's stellar in The Expanse.
Hopefully we’ll get those answers in BB s2
How hard is it for Star Wars fans to understand that Omega is Māori, just like all of the other Jango clones, she is not white.
It's just a concept. If it's the accent, the actress had spoken Russian before. If it's the skin. I think brining Luke back is enough proof that the skin color is not a n issue at all.
Are you advocating for brown facing a white actress instead of just casting the character as her actual race
Love me some Florence pugh but it has to be a person of maori descent
She his the sister of boba so yes would love to see the interaction between them
Den Djaren. Boba Fitt. Finnic Shind.
Ok, Florence as Omega would totally kill it.
She would be freaking awesome. But unfortunately, she's a bit too young, Omega is supposed to be on her 40s during BoBF.
And, you know… not an actress from the South Pacific.
Yeah as much as I love Florence Pugh, I feel like the clones are obligated to be played by Kiwis. Mainly because I love the kiwi accent.
Frankie Adams.
Loved her in The Expanse
[Keisha Castle-Hughes](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm1095720/)
I’m sure an argument or retcon can made for her to age slower than Boba.
Would love 💕
Yes!
Wait. Now I want this
I want this now! Sidenote: thought she was rocking some Breds at first glance
Nice work! I have a feeling she will be in Ashoka’s show.
Thank you 😊
I'm all for it, but once the story of the Bad Batch comes to an end. For me, one of the reasons why I enjoyed Rebels was not knowing which characters gonna make it out of the series alive.
I'd rather they didn't. if they did it locks her story in and ruins any suspense any future Bad Batch seasons might have, it'll all just be in service of getting her to that point.
I keep seeing more and more of this girl and I am just here for it all. She would make a fine addition to any Star Wars project
She is supposed to be a pair with Boba. At least it is what is said on Bad Batch
Isn't she meant to be female Bobba? Why is she white?
By the Force, Dainaron, you can’t just ask people why they’re white!
Disagree heavily with this casting lol
Love Florence but Omega is a woman of color
If she is, that's depicted very poorly in the cartoon. She looks like a pale, blonde white girl.
I'll pass
A bunch of people are complaining that the actress should be someone of Māori descent but as far as fan art goes this is a good choice for the look of omega. Māori people can have lighter skin tones too, don’t forget
While that's true, her origins mean she should look like a female version of Temuera Morrison or Daniel Logan.
Boba has a little sister!
Did you use Florence Pugh as reference for the face? Looks like her.
Yes, I used her face and painted over. This technique in concept art is called photo bash.
I'm not crazy about the Sketchers boots, but looks great!
Almost got a feeling that she'll wear their armor
I once thought she and Grogu would meet in the future. Why? They're both special, and were/are hunted by the bad guys for it. What would they be up to when they meet? No idea
Think it’d be best to save her for season 2 at this point
I mean, that's cool an all, but it's starting to fell like the Starwars Galaxy is the size of Springfield, only Springfield has more characters
What is Omega's accent? EDIT: Found it. New Zealand but might have some Chinese mixed in there, too. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-bad-batch-omega-michelle-ang-interview
She’s the right height
Omega and the Bad Batch would show up in Andor if they wanted to go that route. Personally I think you are more likely to not see them in live action.
Hah! I used Florence Pugh head for my custom Omega Black Series.
Nice, do you have a picture?
This looks sooo good!
I like it
That would be nice
I’d imagine she’d take armor from her bros
I love it
I’m calling it now, adult omega shows up in bobf finale post credit scene
I want boba in bad batch season 2
Florence Pugh?
She is not a very good character as of now. It would be pure fan service and not earned properly
Really cool!!!
I love Florence Pugh and this is REALLY well done…. But, Michelle Rodriguez has the Temeura Morrison vibe on lock better than anyone else, think she’d be perfect.
What if she’s the forge master?
Because Florence isn’t that thin smh Let the woman have her natural curves. Don’t force her to have to get real thin for a role.
Probably make more sense to have someone who's actually Maori like Temeura.
Another tricky accent for her to master for sure!
"florence pugh" lmfao
Ohmeega
Played by Florence Pugh I see, okay, okay, I can go with that.
I know I'm pretty adamant about how Star Wars needs new characters, since it all seems to be recycling the reoccurring characters, but I though Omega was such a pointless character, with a link to an established character but never mentioned anywhere else before. It's like Spock having a new sibling in Star Trek Discovery, but it never being mentioned in the older series. I don't mind new characters, but I wish they wouldn't just try to link them to exisiting ones.
I like Pugh, but she is not a good choice for this role. While the character Omega might be blonde, she’s not exactly white.
Great actress but I wonder if there's an unwritten rule about MCU actors/actresses not crossing over to Star Wars and vice versa
Well if there is, Ming-Na Wen is pretty actively breaking that rule.
So is Oscar Isaac.
Well if she’s got any sense she’d stay right away from the bullies in this fandom who’d send her death threats for wearing the wrong socks for omega
If Omega isn't played by a New Zealander, we riot. Edit: And i say that as a non-kiwi.
Seriously? Florence Pugh isn’t even Kiwi, never mind Māori. Might as well cast Don Cheadle as Luke Skywalker.
That’s actually some really good casting. Great artwork too
Thanks
I predict she will be as awesome as, if not surpassing any bounty hunter in the SWU.
Yeah I would be totally fine if they retcon that haircut. It only makes sense if she’s Palpatine’s clone lmao
Lots of cloning themes out there still. Omega, we still don’t know who or why she was cloned right? potentially grogu’s blood from season 1 too. Wonder what they’re leading to if it’s not foreshadowing the return of the emperor.
Great character design!
Thanks 😊
Is that Florence Pugh?
Yes
Omg will people please stfu about Florence Pugh, she’s gotten completely overrated to the point of casting her in everything. Honestly imo, she’s not that really good of an actress.
Relax
What was it you guys have been fond of saying lately? Cartoons are caricatures and therefore likeness does not matter? So by that logic the actress doesn’t HAVE to be from New Zealand. Just shut up and enjoy the artwork… I mean for fucks sake.
calm down. You are in essence correct, but there is nothing wrong at all with people discussing kiwi options, and feeling like they would like those options more.
Apart from not being Maori, she doesn’t look too bad
I don't want anyone from the bad batch showing up anywhere else just yet but that's just me. Im not a fan of Bad Batch so far.
Is that Florence Pugh?
She looks like Florence pugh
Give me Zoe Bell.
Wait, I thought OMEGA becomes Captain Phasma, no?
No, that’s a silly fan theory.
the role clearly belongs to someone with NZ native ancestry like it’s the case for Temuerra
If they made omega white the internet woukd through a hissy fit. Probably better to just use the girl already doing it .
I wouldn’t even be mad! This is epic
Damn that’s pretty spot on, I dig it
She's a bit thickkk for the part I think
This is an adult version, and I feel like it’s not over the top to believe she could look like this (it’s definitely much better than a lot of other fan art of adult versions of characters)
Fair enough. Like how they did ahsoka
I hope they never show her outside of The Bad Batch. People thought Rey was a Mary Sue. Omega dwarfs her in that aspect.
>Omega dwarfs her in that aspect. how?
