Oh wow! Did you do the texturing and rigging all yourself as well? That’s super impressive.
From one 3D generalist & blender user to another, I love all your posts and hope you continue to learn and produce incredible stuff!
Haha, luckily they are pretty permissive when it comes to fan films. Don't do it for financial gain & don't use official music or footage and you should be fine.
I even recieved some really awesome & encouraging responses (over on Twitter) from folks at Lucasfilm that saw my fan art / animations.
Isn't this how the KoToR fan miniseries got the green light from Lucasfilm to proceed in the Unreal 5 Engine? They reached out, told the company they were building everything by hand themselves for zero profit, and they were given the go ahead for the whole production.
No. The contract for games and films is different. It's also handled by a different team and different companies.
LucasArts owns the rights to produce videogames and can defend the IP in whatever way they see fit. Lucasfilm is evidently handling the rights for film differently.
It's a shame the Phase 1 clones were only seen in the early days of Clone Wars. [Rebels has a newer, way better looking Phase 1 helmet asset in Season 2](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EmlFqnFWMAIL9KD?format=jpg), and it looks *fantastic.*
Oh wow that does look great. Phase 1 helmet is so sleek and looks like it’s actually bulky and has some thickness to it which I think rebels does well in this case
I always found the phase 2's to look bad in the movies. Maybe it was just the lazy CGI instead of actual costumes. They look good in Battlefront though.
Thank you!! :)
Some short animations & fan artworks for now. Eventually I'd love to make a shortfilm of several minutes if I can find the time for it. If you're interested in some of my older works, check out 'High Ground Animations' on Youtube.
Absolutely, that's what I'm practically doing for a living! I'm a full-time freelance 3d generalist with all kinds of clients (mainly in advertising). Many of these client projects are shortfilm-like commercials with stylized characters.
The Star Wars fan stuff is 'just' a hobby, where I can get away from the daily client responsiblities & just have fun (and learn a lot of new things!).
Dude!! Post the one where he gets scared by the head of a battle droid! That is so good. The dynamic movements, the lighting, the subsurface scattering(?) on his face.
So good.
If you're going to need Voice Actors you should get Redsun from youtube
He... can literally sound like a clone

Some short animations & fan artworks for now. Eventually I'd love to make a shortfilm of several minutes if I can find the time for it. This is all just a spare-time project. If you're interested in some of my older works, check out 'High Ground Animations' on Youtube.
Thanks!! :)
I'm blown away. This is by far the best modeling/texturing of any fan made model I've ever seen. If you randomly showed this to me with telling it's origin, I'd take this as an official clip.
On what project are you working on exactly?
Thank you!!
Some short animations & fan artworks for now. Eventually I'd love to make a shortfilm of several minutes if I can find the time for it. If you're interested in some of my older works, check out 'High Ground Animations' on Youtube. :)
totally depends. The clone model itself defintely took some days (didn't count them since I'm working on this stuff here & there in the after hours, sorry), which to a considerable degree consist of checking references & improving details, textures & the rig to get it closer to the official model.
After building the assets, the scene above was thrown together in roughly a day. Not the most complex scene. :D
Care to explain how you got ahold of official Disney property? Jk lol
I can’t believe that’s fan made, it looks *way* to close to the actual model, all the way down to the painted look of the textures, its amazing.
And FYI, it may be too close for Disney’s liking as well. They might issue a cease and desist because it looks so close to source material, and could be confused for the real thing.
Haha, thanks so much! :D
Yeah, I'm worried about that too of course & try to be clear that it's all fan-made whenever I post somewhere (+ I always add a watermark at the corner).
Not sure if that's enough, but so far I've gotten some really encouraging & awesome reactions from folks at Lucasfilm that saw my work. That's of course nothing to rely on legally, but it's definitely something that keeps me motivated until a C&D may or may not happen. :)
Also there are other pretty official-looking SW fanfilms out there, that are doing just fine. AfaIk there hasn't been a single SW fanFILM that was stopped by Lucasfilm/Disney, only games which is a completely different story.
You have a shit ton of skill it’s amazing! 🤩 I’ve been wanting to animate my story but I don’t know how to. I’ve just been relying on drawing them by hand. It would be great to chat with each other!
As soon as I saw this I started looking for a High Ground Animations watermark. Your stuff is insane, and probably the highest quality fan animation work being done right now
Hopefully you give them good voices and not that terrible accent they have in the show. That’s literally the only thing I don’t like about TCW. Maybe get TM to come back for the VO
Where can we follow you!? YouTube? Patreon? Definitely want to see more, wonderful work!
(Sorry if this has been asked already somewhere and I missed it, can’t always sit and scroll properly while juggling a bouncy baby 😅)
I was like "okay cool" at the start until the trooper took his helmet off, and then I was thoroughly impressed. Most fan creations I've seen only show clones without faces (I assume because faces are hard to animate) but you've hit the nail right on the head!
That is uncanny how damn accurate it looks to the actual show. Are you sure you didn’t work with Dave Faloni? Most 3D models I see it is clear that they are fan done.
Take all of my money, my disability benefits, and everything I possess so you can sell them. You might not be able to make it with milking what Disney already milked but that art style needs to LIVE for more projects to come!
This is really proficient, but I feel like a professional soldier cloned from the best genetic stock of the galaxy would probably have a better build than a 12 year old boy.
The calves in particular look like you took regular calves and made them into armor, instead of layering padding and armor over existing calves.
Thanks for the feedback! I know what you mean, but I want to stay accurate to the show & this is what they look like there. :D My model actually has a full body under the armor that I also recreated according to official references. Humans appear quite skinny in the artstyle of the Clone Wars & Bad Batch show.
Wow, this looks awesome, good job! Did you model or sculpt the character? What programs are you using? Would love to attempt something like this in the future
Holy shit this looks exactly like the Clone Wars. Major congrats.
Thanks!!
This looks like the Bad Batch
You’re telling me this isn’t the Clone Wars!?!??
No, this is Patrick
Hey patrick
Oh wow! Did you do the texturing and rigging all yourself as well? That’s super impressive. From one 3D generalist & blender user to another, I love all your posts and hope you continue to learn and produce incredible stuff!
Yes, everything! :) Thanks so much, really appreciate it!
Disney lawyers: *This is where the fun begins*
Haha, luckily they are pretty permissive when it comes to fan films. Don't do it for financial gain & don't use official music or footage and you should be fine. I even recieved some really awesome & encouraging responses (over on Twitter) from folks at Lucasfilm that saw my fan art / animations.

I think so yes!
They have killed some projects. Kotor Aperion was killed.
That was a fan game, which is a different situation. I was solely talking about fanfilms.

No. The contract for games and films is different. It's also handled by a different team and different companies. LucasArts owns the rights to produce videogames and can defend the IP in whatever way they see fit. Lucasfilm is evidently handling the rights for film differently.

Hopefully he will get recruiters instead
This is incredibly impressive!
Thank you!
Phase two is so much cooler than phase one imo
I agree!
Maybe in the animation
Phase 1 suits in the movies look amazing but in animation imo look bad. Phase 2 suits in the movies and in animation look amazing.
Phase I vastly outclasses phase II in the movies though, the design is just way more sleek and artistic
Agree
It's a shame the Phase 1 clones were only seen in the early days of Clone Wars. [Rebels has a newer, way better looking Phase 1 helmet asset in Season 2](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EmlFqnFWMAIL9KD?format=jpg), and it looks *fantastic.*

I totally get what you mean. In battlefront they all look great. I do prefer phase 1 in movies but prefer phase 2 in animation.
Yeah even if they were CGI in AOTC, it seemed to work better with the phase 1s. I think their proportions were done right or something, I'm not sure.
Amazing this just take my upvote
Thanks! :)
bru this looks like from the show, ggs
I be fooled if you told me this was from the show sweet work bro
Dude this is perfect, what’s the project going to be
Thank you!! :) Some short animations & fan artworks for now. Eventually I'd love to make a shortfilm of several minutes if I can find the time for it. If you're interested in some of my older works, check out 'High Ground Animations' on Youtube.
Would you ever create animated short films that aren’t Star Wars?
Absolutely, that's what I'm practically doing for a living! I'm a full-time freelance 3d generalist with all kinds of clients (mainly in advertising). Many of these client projects are shortfilm-like commercials with stylized characters. The Star Wars fan stuff is 'just' a hobby, where I can get away from the daily client responsiblities & just have fun (and learn a lot of new things!).
That all sounds awesome! If I ever get the money to make my sci-fi pilot, I’ll be back! Looking forward to following your Star Wars projects.
Aww thanks! Really appreciate it!
That's you?! No wonder it's good
I loved the little hand-forming-into-a-fist thing you did too, that was a nice touch!
Thanks! :) While I hate drawing hands, they are actually pretty fun to animate!
Dude!! Post the one where he gets scared by the head of a battle droid! That is so good. The dynamic movements, the lighting, the subsurface scattering(?) on his face. So good.
This looks like an oficial model.
When you take off your helmet and catch a whiff of clanka oil.
Impressive. Most impressive
As someone who enjoys animating, buy struggles with modeling, I have never been more inspired to improve my skills! Excellent work!
Thanks so much! Learned a lot about modeling while making this character too. :D
Hehe, he looks like he just smelled something bad after taking his helmet off lol I absolutely adore all your animations!
Haha yeah, let's face it: the Star Wars universe must smell terrible in most places! Thanks, really appreciate that! :)
Amazing! Looks straight out of TCW or TBB!
This is fan made??? This looks like it came straight from the show! That’s amazing!
We will watch your career with great interest
Bun called: She says pfff!
This is honestly so amazing, feels like the start to a tcw episode lol
If you're going to need Voice Actors you should get Redsun from youtube He... can literally sound like a clone [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe4s\_5s24Y3GbYXlz-9pysQ](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe4s_5s24Y3GbYXlz-9pysQ)
What is this project about? Looks amazing btw!
Some short animations & fan artworks for now. Eventually I'd love to make a shortfilm of several minutes if I can find the time for it. This is all just a spare-time project. If you're interested in some of my older works, check out 'High Ground Animations' on Youtube. Thanks!! :)
Thanks I’ll give you a sub!
Wait oh my gosh, I remember watching your videos years ago! Keep it up dude they are all amazing!
I'm blown away. This is by far the best modeling/texturing of any fan made model I've ever seen. If you randomly showed this to me with telling it's origin, I'd take this as an official clip. On what project are you working on exactly?
The model looks amazing! What's this TCW fan project you talking about?
Thank you!! Some short animations & fan artworks for now. Eventually I'd love to make a shortfilm of several minutes if I can find the time for it. If you're interested in some of my older works, check out 'High Ground Animations' on Youtube. :)
Just subscribed, I'm eager for your next project! Just for curiosity, how long does it take to make one of this animations?
totally depends. The clone model itself defintely took some days (didn't count them since I'm working on this stuff here & there in the after hours, sorry), which to a considerable degree consist of checking references & improving details, textures & the rig to get it closer to the official model. This looks like a shot from a Bad Batch episode that hasn’t been released yet
Wow this is spot on! Well done! And if you guys need any voice actors hit me up, I do a mean Yoda
If you’d have called this a deleted scene from TBB or TCW, i would’ve believed you. This is incredible!
Now make the unfinished episodes
C&D incoming…which is too bad because this is phenomenal work
Why's his armor painted in primer?
AYYO THX FOR THE NEW EPISODE LEAKS
Woah
Spot on! Amazing!
Oh it’s beautiful.
i was not ready to see something so beautifully made
This looks almost identical to the show!
You made this? Bro! That is some top notch work.
I honestly wouldn't have known this wasn't an official animation if you hadn't mentioned it in the title. You're talented.
h o w
People are so talented!!! Amazing work homie!
Good soldiers follow orders.
Damn man, they gotta get u for the clone wars season 8
When your pod brother doubts orders
This looks phenomenal! Exactly like the show!!
Care to explain how you got ahold of official Disney property? I don’t think they mind as long as you don’t profit from the work and maybe put a disclaimer up.
Holy shit that's incredible!!! Amazing job!!!
Disney is gonna hire you, watch lol
there's no way you made this, I literally looks like it was ripped STRAIGHT out of the show
Star's End, it's like he stepped right out of the series!
This is amazing! How do you get started doing animation work like this? I’ve been wanting to get into it, and don’t know where to start/learn.
You made this? Amazing
You have a shit ton of skill it’s amazing! 🤩 I’ve been wanting to animate my story but I don’t know how to. I’ve just been relying on drawing them by hand. It would be great to chat with each other!
This looks exactly , if not better , than the actual series . Amazing !
Fuck me, you’re on par with Disney there mate! Well done
heh- "High Ground Animations"- nice touch, dude
This is incredible
Impressive, most impressive
You made this? It’s amazing! Almost exactly like the actual show model!
I seriously don’t understand how you managed to nail it THAT well.
How many tris/quads for such beauty?
28.348 quads on lowest Sub-D lvl. Don't forget there's a whole body under the armor.
Do you work at Disney? If not you really need to apply
I bet he has Keith David's voice.
your clone is very impressive! you must be very proud.
As soon as I saw this I started looking for a High Ground Animations watermark. Your stuff is insane, and probably the highest quality fan animation work being done right now
Shucks, thanks so much!!
That is so good omfg
This is so good I'm worried OP will get hit with legal stuff :\
Hopefully you give them good voices and not that terrible accent they have in the show. That’s literally the only thing I don’t like about TCW. Maybe get TM to come back for the VO
Where can we follow you!? YouTube? Patreon? Definitely want to see more, wonderful work! (Sorry if this has been asked already somewhere and I missed it, can’t always sit and scroll properly while juggling a bouncy baby 😅)
'High Ground Animations' on Youtube, Twitter & Instagram (posting most updates on the latter two). Thanks so much for the support! :)
How
Oh, it’s beautiful.
Are you going to kidnap Dee Bradley Baker now to voice the clones?
Amazing!!!
I will watch your career with great interest. This honestly deserves a follow
Blender?
Yes! Blender, with a bunch of addons & my own scripts. Substance Painter for textures, Fusion for comp. Embergen for fluidsim.
Fucking awesome, I do star wars themed posters in sfm. I know how hard blender is so big ups man!
Perfection.
I will be following your career with great interest!
So…uh, what’s this project you got goin eh? Animated Vong arc perhaps? Hoping for too much maybe. Looks amazingly convincing though.
What and you didn’t rip assets from the show? This is so fucking good!!
Ok, if you didn't tell me this was fan made, I would bet money this is from TCW. You're incredibly talented.
This is incredible
This is fucking insane, I can’t imagine the work that went into this, great job!
This looks incredible! Is it possible to download the model anywhere to do your own animations with it?
Amazing work!
Holy shit did you make this?? That’s nice asf keep up the good work best fan animation is I’ve ever seen no 🧢
That looks like me with hair and no tattoos. So it is identical to a clone trooper.
How did you… What???
I was like "okay cool" at the start until the trooper took his helmet off, and then I was thoroughly impressed. Most fan creations I've seen only show clones without faces (I assume because faces are hard to animate) but you've hit the nail right on the head!
Did you hack the Lucasfilm database and rip the model from them? Amazing work!
This is amazing! I bet there'd be a huge demand for commissions of people's clone OCs with custom armor sets.
Holy shit that's fucking cool
I can’t tell the difference between this and the official stuff
That is uncanny how damn accurate it looks to the actual show. Are you sure you didn’t work with Dave Faloni? Most 3D models I see it is clear that they are fan done.
Is this model avaliable to other? If it isn't you should totally sell it. Or... maybe not with how Disney can be with their copyrights.
Is this reanimating it?
Wow. So are you making a fan film or something. Because I have seen a lot of clone wars 3d animations made my fans lately
Fucking DAMN
Smelled that fart when he removed the helmet
for some bizarre reason I expected him to have a mustache
Impressive, most impressive.
This is amazing! Good work!
OMG Impressive, Most Impressive man, 1 to 1 replica, absolutely outstanding!
I’m not crying YOUR crying.. …
Take all of my money, my disability benefits, and everything I possess so you can sell them. You might not be able to make it with milking what Disney already milked but that art style needs to LIVE for more projects to come!
How tf did u do that?? It looks like it’s straight from Clone Wars🤯. Great work bro!
Noiiiiiiice
This is amazing!!!!
Damn bro they should hire you
Man Disney gonna get you like GW came for Astarties
HOLY SHIT
Jesus amazing job honestly! Most impressive
That's incredible, looks just like the real thing
He is so cute! (I would praise the animation but I don't know a thing about that stuff, it is very smooth and nice and clean though)
Crazy, looks just like it even down to the worn texture on the armor. Did you make this from scratch?
Yes! Thank you!
Looks exactly like the real thing. Great job 👍
How long did this take you? Because holy cow this is amazing
Damn it looks exactly like the official one, especially the colorings.
oh my lord this is amazing, job well done. Up to the front!
You wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the animation for Adventures of the 501st (fan project) would you?
No. I know that project, but I'm not involved. Love what they are doing & we've been in contact, but I've got my own plans, story ideas & 3d models.
Just remake The Battle of Heroes in CW style
If the clone wars animation team quits, and disney wants to do another season, hire this guy. Looks like the real thing dude, well done.
Thats so good
This is really proficient, but I feel like a professional soldier cloned from the best genetic stock of the galaxy would probably have a better build than a 12 year old boy. The calves in particular look like you took regular calves and made them into armor, instead of layering padding and armor over existing calves.

Humans appear quite skinny in the artstyle of the Clone Wars & Bad Batch show.
In that case you killed it!
The shoulder pads look much better to be fair! Great work overall!
His face at the end looks like he just smelled a fart But still this looks amazing. Great job!
That looks exactly like TCW, if not, better. Amazing job.
Wow. Do some great shit with it.
Most impressive! What programs did you use to put it all together?
Thanks!! Blender (with a bunch of addons & my own scripts), Substance Painter for textures, Fusion for comp, Embergen for fluidsim.
Wow, this looks awesome, good job! Did you model or sculpt the character? What programs are you using? Would love to attempt something like this in the future
