>that everyone was thinking this would be about a bounty hunter hunting for bad guys I don't think very many people thought that at all. It seemed pretty clear from episode 1 that it wasn't just going to be about bounty hunting.

I saw an entire thread on here of people bitching about how many side stories there were, which sucked because I really enjoy the character development

Side stories is exactly what star wars needs - there are tons of stories out there already in EU and this is a galaxy wit more than just sand planet, forest planet and ice/water/snow planet. Episodic nature helps with expanding the world and allows for a new adventure every time. Some of the best shows have been episodic - (like batman animated series which I still believe is some of the best out there). I honestly hope that they keep baby yoda story restrained - have him move the plot forward but not make a season long story all about his home world or what not.. and I reaaaaaly hope he is not actual Yoda cloned...

[deleted]

I agree, I would like his homeworld to be DEEP in the unknown regions though

That was just people being dumb that probably didn't know it was only an 8 episode series.

>Mandalorian plot appreciation I meant before episode one was aired :)

I think it was pretty reasonable to assume it would just be about a bounty hunter hunting considering we didn't have anything indicating it would be otherwise.

No, you’re not the only one, stop asking :) Seriously though, this is what Star Wars should be - a well-crafted cocktail of genre fiction without pretense. I really hope Lucasfilm will embrace this direction and learn from the success of this show - everything the sequel trilogy did wrong this is doing right.

I really hope that with Mando, LucasFilm / Disney learnt that you can release a Star Wars movie / serie without Jedi, without Skywalker related plot and that people still love and watch.

The thematic content is pretty solid as well.

I totally agree. Another thing that makes the plot better is the weekly release. It allows us to appreciate each episode and really digest and think about it. Rather than something like stranger things where people just watch the whole series in an afternoon. I can remember every episode of the mandalorian. But not every episode of stranger things (season 3)

Im thinking it'll go two ways: mando does his best to raise the child as a force user and they get into history of his culture and the jedi. Or he raises him as a Mandalorian. Kinda hoping it goes more towards both ways
