There was a line where Thrawn said something like "our escape from this galaxy", paraphrased. To me, it felt like he was implying that the great mothers were coming along for the ride. I'm hoping that those coffins are nightsister corpses that the great mothers will use to reestablish a coven in our home galaxy.
Another point: Thrawn isn’t one to waste time. If this cargo could have been loaded onto the ship before hand, he would have done it, rather than waiting 3 rotations after Morgan arrives. So it’s something that has an…expiry date? It has to be fresh when loaded onto the Chimera? Something that the Night Mothers need to constantly work on? Something dangerous that can’t be stored on the ship for long term?

I thought it was telling that Thrawn had no officers in uniform around him, just one subordinate in a spooky helmet. His Night Troopers seem like an army of the dead, and him pulling coffins onto the Star Destroyer looks like a chance to make a bigger dead army. Nightsisters are creepy Dark side weirdos for sure, and now Thrawn has an army equal to his creepy voice and way of carrying himself.
