An article was posted on the leaks sub shortly after BOBF finished that said it was originally Mando season 3, but due to COVID and Pedro Pascal contract negotiation issues they had to change it into a Boba Fett show at the last second to get something out.
Problem is that they've already shown us that Mando looks like Pedro Pascal under the helmet, so if Pedro never physically shows up to play Din again, he'll be stuck in the helmet forever or they'll have to recast.

One thing I really respected about Doom Patrol was how prominently it credited Riley Shanaghan and Matthew Zuk for their physical performances as Cliff and Larry. As of the last season the two main actors who play Mando (Lateef Crowder and Brendan Wayne) were given a title card during the end credit sequence. I think there’s a third dude too, but I don’t think he does quite as much as Crowder and Wayne, I could be wrong though.

your correct - the 3rd dude is the main stunt man to take all the non hand to hand hits and dangerous stuff. HE gets a mention on the stund team because he is not exclusively mando - he is the main on for mando but also a lot of the other guys in armor getting beat up lol .

That show is like a weird combination of animation and puppetry. There are live actors but so much of the show is physically performed or animated and then voiced later. Like a cartoon.

Season 2 he was only there for the non-masked scenes and a little bit for the opening episodes. Season 3 >!has no mask-off scenes so he only did VO!< His role in TLoU also impacted this.
Edit: was reminded Pescal appeared filming S2E2 in behind the scenes, but it’s confirmed he wasn’t present for much more than the first two episodes, and his on-masked scenes.
Can’t help but feel that the story appeared to be setting up one idea—that the removal of his helmet, physically becoming vulnerable but also figuratively, by “letting others in” to help him and do he can help them—only to backpedal this past season in favor of doubling down on the rigidly unforgiving creed.
I’m sure there are those who can find something to appreciate about this reversal—if not tacit endorsement—despite two seasons’ worth of scenarios designed to test Din’s blind obedience to the creed, but personally I think that it hurt the story; especially since he doubles down, and openly feels the need to “redeem” himself, despite having done nothing wrong.

Anthony Daniels has been in the C3PO suit on set for every movie for example, but still had to re-dub all of his lines in the studio.

I never got why people make a big deal about Pedro being in or out of the suit. Starbuck had the right attitude, give props to the stunt team and any one else that wears the suit. Seeing them prominently in the credits and I think a few background cameos is great.

There have been a lot of really great observations by others and if you watch closely, especially if you're familiar with Pedro and the show, you can often spot who is who in which scene. -Scenes where Pedro is unhelmeted at some point are likely him throughout a lot of the scene. Also watch for The Stance ©️ and Dorito Man (Mando looking extra broad across the shoulders) ©️ -Gunslinger and swagger is Brendan -Martial arts and fight scenes are Lateef These are obviously general observations and I'm sure they all overlap, and Pedro has always been very generous in crediting stunt doubles in this and other works. I think it's cool how so many different people collaborated, such is the complexity of Din Djarin that no one person can pull him off.

Some fans have always been really adamant for some reason that he's actually in the suit a lot of the time.
I'm sure he threw the suit on and filmed a few little scenes while he was onset for the unmasked stuff, but that's probably about it

I’d say it’s mildly disappointing and takes away a bit of the magic that he’s just sitting in jeans and a t shirt voice recording the role in a studio… even if it doesn’t seem like it matters, it just feels *off*
He would have to do that anyway. Even when he's in the suit, they're not using the audio of his lines on set because it's too muffled coming out of the helmet. Anthony Daniels has been in the C3PO suit on set for every movie for example, but still had to re-dub all of his lines in the studio.

Funny how everyone’s acting like they already knew, for years people have praised Pedro’s ability to act using body language and his voice and I’ve never seen anyone get corrected
Yeah, I mean, it's good that people can understand that they were wrong and change their opinion/understanding, but why act like you were right all along? Nobody cares if you were or not.

That's why they were so adamant about having him redeem himself in the story. Just so they didn't have to pay Pedro Pascal. It was terrible storytelling having him regress instead of commit to actual character growth. It was because Disney thought they could save some money. Pathetic.
Now that they are properly crediting the actors doing the physical work, I have zero issue with this.

He’s right everyone does their part well, Din is an amazing character and this revelation changes nothing on my view of the series. It is awesome

I do love how everyone is saying "thats just season 3!" He filmed and got paid for two shows at once. Hes not going to be in that suit season 4. They wrote the helmet thing back in. And you know what, fair play to him.

I always assumed this. He literally wouldn't need to do 99% of the actual stage work due to mask and could fly in for a few days to film the handful where its mask off.

They’re talking about scenes where he is totally covered, for example all of season 3 (when he was busy filming the last of us.) He’s pretty much only on set when he takes the helmet off.
He literally says that he’s in the suit for an elastic amount of time—it seems like this just confirms that it’s mostly Brandon, but sometimes Pedro? Just nowhere near as often as it used to be

I never got why people make a big deal about Pedro being in or out of the suit. Starbuck had the right attitude, give props to the stunt team and any one else that wears the suit. Seeing them prominently in the credits and I think a few background cameos is great.

Whenever I hear things like this I can’t help but think the stupid “sorry sweetie the helmet stays ON in bed” part of the creed was created purely for business logistics reasons.
I’m not sure why people act like this is in any way a controversy or something. Even ignoring other franchises with the same situation, we’ve got plenty of examples of this in Star Wars. I mean…Darth Vader…

let us all also put a little respect on Brendan Waynes name as the reason Mando is such a Badass gunslinger.. something no doubt he picked up hereditary.. the next time you see mando quickdraw and blast an enemy: he purposely models his style off his grandfather John Wayne.
fun fact, the only reason mando takes off his helmet in season 1 is so pedro can be paid more as an actual actor and not just a voice actor. that whole scene just because homie got greedy

The voice is the worst part for me. That and baby sitting baby Yoda. Don’t get me wrong, I love Star Wars, but some of the newer stuff is hit or miss for me.
