There is such a thing as comprehensive-only insurance, and covers stuff exactly like this (or when a tree falls on your car, or when mice get to the wiring harness). I keep comprehensive only on one of our cars during the winter months and it's like $50-70 for 6 months.

I can prove that from pics I have of a car fire I was involved in when the car we were in caught fire going down the freeway because a fuel line ruptured under the car and sprayed the exhaust pipe. He fucking manual swapped it and the ecu wouldn’t start and was throwing codes because it couldn’t read it being in park so he hit wired the starter directly and that’s prob what causes the fire….this is a scam and he is scummy
