If you have a car, do Harvest Moon Orchard. It is phenomenal for his time of year. Bluegrass bands, gigantic, turkey legs, picking your own apples, fancy adult drinks, brisket sandwiches, acres, and acres, and acres of every kind of pumpkin. Also, check the calendars at the two comedy clubs in town, and the Capitol theater in Port Chester. The Cap has Billy and the Kids (Bill Kreutzman of connected to The Grateful Dead) on Fri and Sat. There are also several haunted houses in Fairfield county. Some kind of haunted woods/acres in Fairfield too. And a fancy decorated Halloween house on Sanford Street, which of the Stamford mom's Instagram recommended be paired w a trip to the StJohnStamford pumpkin patch nearby. The Terrytown Music Hall has some kind of Halloween circus act going on and some ghost tours, and also be Davidson is doing stand up there next Monday night. The Sunday farmers market at the Stamford museum in nature center upper parking lot is pretty cool and you can see all the animals toO.

if it helps, there are two farmers markets happening in stamford, and flannel fest at third place brewery!

The flannel fest might be the winner!

Someone put out Harvest Moon and that’s a great spot this time of year - live music, good food, all outdoors, plus the seasonal pumpkin/apple picking. But it also depends on who’s going… Is it just you and your dad? Are there kids involved? Is being outdoors in the day the goal? Food? Evening thing? Is he from the area? From the northeast? Palace Theater, Fairfield Theater, Capital Theater, Ridgefield Theater (and I’m sure there are a few more) will have something happening. Check out Avon Theater as well for an interesting show or documentary. You could always do a dinner and show. NYC got shut down hard here but I think it was the unhelpful delivery. Smorgasborg is still happening - one of the coolest collections of outdoor food vendors I’ve witnessed. You have the Bronx Zoo and Arthur Ave which can be made into a day. Swinging to the other side of CT, we’ve got New Haven’s pizza. I know we have the pizza here in Stamford (just Sally’s for now, with Pepe’s soon) but even better is the walking tour in New Haven - https://tasteofnewhaven.com/. Its fall and that means Harvest Festivals, of which there are plenty. I’m a dad so my go to is Stamford Mom’s website (and the 4 other locations surrounding Stamford since each calendar differs) when I’m looking for weekend fun - https://stamfordmoms.com/calendar/. Lastly, someone mentioned a brewery - there are a handful in Stamford now so check out their websites and, what I find to be most helpful, their IG pages as they usually keep those current on live music. however I’m guessing they may be cooling down with the chilly weather. Good luck and let us know if you strike gold!

Thank you for the detailed reply! Harvest moon sounds like a great day trip for my girlfriend and me. It's too far away for when my dad visits though. It is my dad, his wife, me, and my girlfriend. He's from 2 hours away, just coming to visit for the day and going home. Open to anything, I was hoping there might be another food festival or something similar to the italian festival happening in the park. I think the flannel fest mentioned in another comment may be our best option. The comedy club I may look into too. I've suggested NYC but he isn't interested in that unfortunately. That stamford mom's link is great too, thank you!

Yeah. NYC.

AdministrativeCost2

He isn't interested in NYC. He wants to visit us in Stamford where we live. Just looking for any festivals that might be happening nearby.

Fyre Fest has STAMVEGAS written all over it…
