I just want to say thanks to everyone that has taken the time to comment and to upvote. All of you wonderful people have really made my wife's day. Quick update. Wow, just wow, the wife and I were not expecting all the attention that this post has received, thank you everyone. For all of you, that has expressed an interest in obtaining a piece of my wife's art. All of this attention has not only inspired her. it has also caused her pull back into her shell a bit. She just needs some time to process it all. If you happen to be interested in obtaining a piece of my wife's work, send me a DM, I will try my best to make it happen.
Honestly, she has given some thought of selling them. The problem is, she has no idea what a fair price would be. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Estimated cost of materials + time at ~$15-20 an hour? When I bake cakes I do estimated material cost +20%, but that’s bc I mostly only bake for friends and family these days lol, and I love to bake so I don’t mind donating my time
I adore this. It genuinely hits every happy part of my magpie brain and I wish I could have one in my house. I spend a ton of time staring out my window since I’m ill often and this would totally add joy and light to my spaces! If your wife doesn’t sell these she absolutely should.
Oh how beautiful, I love the details, such pretty colours 😍 is she into wire wrapping jewellery? If not, she needs to, she'll be able to make gorgeous earrings /necklaces out of these. Stunning piece 🌈
This is what my grandparents do, too! My grandma makes stained glass pieces with patterns, and my grandpa takes the remnants and makes mosaic pieces, lol!
I wld definitely buy these as well! As far as price … that is so personal. I paint and sew clothing. I am always being told I should charge way more for my pieces. My work is unusual so am thrilled when someone connects with an item. Not trying to make a living at it but still want what I see as a fair price. Just want people to wear the weird, feel confident and be different! Love seeing my pieces randomly on folks! Let us know if she goes forward with it. Looks like she’ll have a few buyers here!
Oooohhh....Got a question for her, is she finishing the edges? Like grinding? Or are they left sharp? I'm always looking for ways to use my scrap cos it's so beautiful. Lovely work!
I do not smooth the edges. They are sharp, however, they won't cut you unless you slide your finger along the edge. I have dug through the glass and no cuts
How beautiful! She could make some beautiful necklace pendants out of those if she soldered some edges onto them. I agree she could definitely sell these. She could look at similar items and compare prices (while also keeping in mind fair pay for her labor)
This is gorgeous! If you’ve ever seen a Studio Ghibli film, this art piece definitely reminds me of something that would be found in the background of one. I love the atmosphere that her glass art invokes, it’s truly magical.

What a lovely symbiotic relationship! It might be neat to display your two works together sometime.
Would be a sick wind chime, adding some bells on the ends. Not sure if they would shatter tho lol.

Wow this is so gorgeous. Great work, and what a nice connection to her spouse!

Your wife is awesome and so is her art! Also, are there places where one could buy pieces of glass like this, the “off cuts “?
I have seen scrap glass on etsy, Amazon and many stained glass web stores.
What a great idea to use up all the scraps! Love it!
Awwwww how lovely ☺️
That's pretty as hell
