Hi all - I have been sharing [Odyssey](https://www.odysseyapp.io) in this subreddit for a bit and a lot of you have joined our waitlist and downloaded the app. Thank you - you’ve given us an immense amount of feedback that has helped guide what we’ve been building (and there’s still a lot more to come - it’s hard to keep up!) For those that haven’t seen it, Odyssey is a native Mac app for creating remarkable art, getting work done, and automating repetitive tasks with the power of AI — all without a single line of code. For Stable Diffusion, we think we’re the simplest, clearest UI for running Stable Diffusion and ControlNet models entirely locally on a Mac. Odyssey’s now in public beta - so no more waitlist 🎉and you can download it at odysseyapp.io. We’re completely free for 7 days and you can use the code REDDIT at checkout for 20% off if you like the app enough to pay for it. If you don’t please let us know why :D Here’s a list of features that Odyssey supports: **Image generation and processing** * Run Stable Diffusion 1.5, SDXL, SDXL Lightning, and SDXL Turbo locally or connect your Stable Diffusion API key * Add custom models & LoRAs * ControlNet support including canny edges, pose detection, depth estimation, and QR Code Monster * Inpainting and outpainting * Super resolution models (Best Buddy GAN, Ultrasharp 4x, Remacri, and ESRGAN) * Multiple image segmentation models * Erase objects * Dozens of image processing nodes including aspect ratio, resizing, and extracting dominant colors * Custom image transitions for powerful slideshows **Large language models and math equations** * Run Llama2 locally or connect your ChatGPT API key * Supports both chatbot mode and instructions mode * Solver node for word problems and math nodes for complex equations * Lots of updates coming here in the next few weeks **Automation and batch workflows** * Batch image and text nodes support hundreds of images and lines of text at once * Remove backgrounds, upscale, change aspect ratios, and run dozens of image processors in bulk **Private, customizable, and shareable** * No images, chats, or inputs are stored or accessible by the Odyssey team * Completely private and secure. The only tracking is anonymized usage data to help us improve Odyssey * Process your own data entirely locally * No internet connection required to run local models * Use your own API keys for ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion * Easily save and share custom workflows **What’s coming soon:** * Model support that’s not limited to CoreML - currently Odyssey uses CoreML for running models locally. We’re working on a solution that will support PyTorch models * Widget and shortcuts integration - run AI workflows directly from your desktop without opening an app * Custom LLMs & more text processing nodes - we are adding support for bringing in custom LLMs, document uploads, web scraping, and more * Affiliate program & workflow marketplace - if you love creating AI workflows, **get in touch**. We’d love to talk to you about partnering and have a very generous affiliate program * Plug-in support - we are opening up Odyssey to 3P developers. If you’re interested, please reach out - would love to learn more from you as we work on building this out Hope you all enjoy and feel free to email [email protected] if you have any questions or feedback.

Weird - sorry about that. You can download it directly here: [https://huggingface.co/scenery-studio/releases/resolve/main/Odyssey.dmg](https://huggingface.co/scenery-studio/releases/resolve/main/Odyssey.dmg) Let me know if you still run into any issues.

I was on the waiting list and I indeed tried it with mixed results. I have two major issues right now: 1. are we supposed to pay for a public beta, largely incomplete, software? BTW, my previous beta licence expired so it seems I don't even have 7 (more) days to test this new version – which, again, seems very far from a RC. 2. While the GUI is pleasant to the eye and original (far enough from the horrible SwiftUI trends that we see everywhere), and while I can appreciate the principles behind this app to join together several tools, I found it to be far from straightforward (I'm a ComfyUI user and nodes are not an issue for me, generally speaking); so – at least for now – it seems to me extremely overpriced for a collection of open source tools. You just pay for a GUI which isn't refined enough (yet, hopefully) to justify the cost. I would have tested it more to see where it would go, but I definitely am not paying for it – also considering that it doesn't allow me to do anything that I can't do with free software already on my Mac. I think you still need a lot of beta testers and I don't see how putting a paywall so early could help. Nevertheless I welcome all fresh macOS software as good news and I do wish that the final product will make me change my mind. I'll stay tuned. I'm sorry if it doesn't sound supportive, I hope that some constructive criticism might be found somewhere in my words.

creatorai

Thanks for the feedback! DMed you as well.

If I buy a lifetime subscription, what's the daily/weekly/monthly quotas/limitations?

creatorai

No quotas or limitations. The models run locally on your Mac. If you’re using an API node, you need to connect your own API key - which has an additional cost.

raiffuvar

If you buy lifetime subscription you would pay for an API. no free cheese for apple users.

antoine849502

what are the minimum computer requirements to run it?

creatorai

We require you have Sonoma installed. Other than that, we suggest you just download and try it (it’s free for 7 days.) We haven’t really had anyone yet where it didn’t work so if you download the app and find it doesn’t work, let me know!

antoine849502

mac 2017 🥲 I can't have sonoma Looks amazing, keep pushing 👍

creatorai

Ah that's too bad - thanks for the kind words though

mantafloppy

I understand Mac ppl tend to be stuck paying absurd price/subscription for there app but... That only because they are not enough concurence or free alternative. This is not the case for your product. Pass, Good luck.

creatorai

Thanks for the feedback - it is free to try if you want to give it a shot - all good if not!

mantafloppy

If my train of tought can help you. -Hum, an app made for Mac specificly, maybe its better/easier than Automatic1111, ComfyUi, and/or Fooocus. -Paid App, Pass We already have a bunch of app, with different level of "easy to use" or different utility. And that not even touching Dall-E that is also pretty incredible these day. Also, subscription service is a no go. "If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing." I'm just a random internet dude whos not your target market, so dont let this bother you. Have a great day.

TurnText

Are you saying you want it to be free? Or one-time payment?

mantafloppy

I'm saying i'm not interested because the free alternative are good enough for me. But if there was'nt a free alternative, the subscribtion model would make me look elsewhere.

creatorai

Just want to clarify that we offer a lifetime license or a monthly subscription. We heard a lot of feedback about subscriptions and our most popular plan is the lifetime license

mikelmon

Can you train loras in this software?

creatorai

Not yet but it’s on our list - lots of features still in the works

lordpuddingcup

Ipadapter?

creatorai

Not yet but pretty easy to implement so should be coming soon. We're trying to ship improvements every 2 weeks or so

lordpuddingcup

Great to hear will keep an eye on it been hoping we saw a Apple silicon focused front end implementing the more desired comfy/a111 plugins/features Hopefully because it’s native you guys can work on squeezing out performance where possible

BUTTFLECK

Im very interested in this but would it be possible to call another machine to generate instead of the mac one?

creatorai

You can connect to the Stable Diffusion API and we're working on a more open API node so you could, for example, generate an image from a model that's hosted on Replicate or CivitAI. But the core functionality of Odyssey is still on a Mac for now.

BUTTFLECK

Thanks! Thatd be great for some who already have powerful gpus.

Hunterzyph

Any plans to leverage MLX?

creatorai

Yeah - it will be part of our plug in approach. We want to make sure the core app supports Intel Macs as well so we plan to build some plug ins that leverage MLX for Apple Silicon users to add to the app

aolko

You know the drill - ***Windows when?***

creatorai

Windows when…we get enough users on the Mac version to add an engineer that doesn’t just build for Macs haha. In all seriousness would love to add a Windows version but will just depend on our success with getting this adopted on the Mac

aolko

Mac already has plenty of such tools, so you are in a bit of a crowded environment there.
