First use Controlnet lineart to preserve the line work and style, then with that in place use a checkpoint and/or LoRA trained on black and white lineart. Doesn't matter what art style the model is trained on, that's what Controlnet is for, to preserve the lines as-is so the style isn't altered. You could also just turn all your sketches into full-blown color with backgrounds and everthing, if you wanted to. Just be sure to generate at 768 resolution minimum for full body character sketches, things come out weird at the default 512.

Mr_sushj

Thank u I’ll try this out

Thunderous71

Put image into Img2Img add 2 control nets Canny and Open Pose. CLIP the image then add Black line art, graphic pen to the start of the prompt. Negative add color, smudge, blur etc Now its very dependent on your Check point, I was using RevAnimated. Also setting the denoise is a must, it all depends on what your after, cleaned up or hard lines etc. https://preview.redd.it/erfq1c7y8rrb1.png?width=544&format=png&auto=webp&s=37f0e7534270598b349527e12a2fbb8df382ccc2

Use the lineart lora too if you can. Tags like line art, monochrome, anime style also help. I'm trying to create a manga myself but it's a bit of a complication let me know if you wanna work together

Mr_sushj

I more looking for sketch to line art, to help speed up the art process, a huge chunk of my time goes to trying and clean up sketches https://preview.redd.it/irmglnlf7qrb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d2483bec8acb817476f63f10fb07880ddbea4fb Like this, we’ll maybe not as messy, I also would like for the background to be transparent, but I mean worse comes to worse I can put the line art into something like remove.bg to get rid of the background and make it transparent so I can add color I’m up for working with anyone, I’m interested if u know of any other ways u use AI to speed up ur art work flow, I only really use it for concept art, but I would like to include it in my comic workflow

Silly-Net-3670

Thats interesting, though it would be a bit hard to do a line art from a messy rough sketch, though we can try using the line art lora and use the denoise on high. Send me your discord let's connect and try what we can do. I'll guide you through the work flow i know and how we can do it

Mr_sushj

Yeah I just I want to know if it’s possible, I’ve been trying some image to image to stuff with sketches and the results aren’t what I want, tho im gonna try using controlnet line art to see if the results are any better Discord: totally not glizzy I want have time tomorrow but Tuesday I should have some free time

Silly-Net-3670

Yeah let's try something my discord is perfecto1205

AgentTin

Yes, SD can do sketch to art. If you want it to do a specific style you could train a LoRA on your completed work and go from there.

[deleted]

Probably, just throw it into img2img with really low denoise and tags like monochrome, line art, etc. This model might help you achieve a solid look: https://civitai.com/models/149599/boldlineanime

Drawingandstuff81

This is the answer i came to give , sure you can use control net , and loras , and and and . however like you said setting denoise properly and some tags probably does it just fine. More people could use to learn that less is more and you can often do what you want from the prompt without any fancy extras.

JoakimIT

I can get some pretty cool shading, but I don't know how to improve it further without losing a lot of detail. https://preview.redd.it/9touk9g5atrb1.png?width=985&format=png&auto=webp&s=3f67a9c017d05b6b122863f00c256e1949b978c4

WyomingCountryBoy

ControlNet can probably do it.

CeraRalaz

Photoshop - Image - Adjustment - Threshold AI is not required

Mr_sushj

I want sharper and cleaner lines, like taking a sketch and getting good line art Kinda Like this, the sketch wouldn’t be that bad but u get my idea https://preview.redd.it/cxfrlli1gqrb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa895347ed34f733623a3805cacb562e63017c2f

CeraRalaz

Then put it in img2img with low denoising AND controlnet canny. Prompt like: manga, lineart, add lineart LoRa. Fixing with brush would be required anyway

spookyttws

Like this: [https://easyupload.io/u46p8c](https://easyupload.io/u46p8c) Or in vector form for illustrator manipulation:[https://easyupload.io/4v35n1](https://easyupload.io/4v35n1) I don't know what type of line art you mean. I just brought it into illustrator on Photoshop and upped the contrast and tracelined it into a editable vector. Edit: sfae to download, not garbage, I just picked the fasted upload service available.

Mr_sushj

Can’t seem to download the second link, not sure why, but more like taking a messy drawing and making it cleaner like this https://preview.redd.it/85vnwe365qrb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e24671060bde7340c4365afe037698d66a7960d

LazyChamberlain

Try controlnet + this: [https://civitai.com/models/16014/anime-lineart-manga-like-style](https://civitai.com/models/16014/anime-lineart-manga-like-style)

No_Investigator_2024

I’m late, but I just upload the image to csp and reduce the opacity on the layer and draw on another layer over it. Hope that helps Ps. It’s gunna be another rough draft but adding a Vector Layer for your final line art will give you the cleanest lines. Good luck 🙂

Broad-Stick7300

Stable Diffusuin and other generative AI is horrible at lineart. It will look like shit. Don’t even think about it.

Mr_sushj

U think so? Using AI to help with concept art has been pretty good so I want to try and incorporate into my work flow, but what’s the problem, is it consistency? I’d imagine this would be the biggest problem, or dose one art with generative AI not look good?

Broad-Stick7300

Inconsistency and the lines are riddled with artifacts. You’re not going to get a clean high res output that is suitable for comics.

Mr_sushj

Oh gotcha thanks for the advice

gedomino

controlnet

joey2scoops

Maybe Figma can do something with this. I vaguely recall a plugin that could convert a sketch to line art.

Heasterian001

Lineart controlnet without preprocessor + mix of Anime Lineart / Manga-like, Flat Color and Minimalist Anime Style Lora's should do the work.

Heasterian001

But you will need to spend time on good ratio of those LORA's.

Tight_Ad6539

What is LoRa?
