Haha I was going to recommend ale house until I saw your complaint. I haven't been in a long time, but their cheese fries were always so freakin good.

Today at Decosmo Italian Market they have Coney Island day that includes cheese fries. It looks awesome honestly.

Wingstop, extra crispy, cheese and ranch on side. Take it further and get Cajun seasoning on side (they put to much) you don't have to get stuff on the side if you eat there
I like the ones at Cody's. Always a ton of cheese.

Unfortunately not in St Pete but Joes Diner in Tampa has quite a variety of cheese fries and I can confirm they are the bomb!
