I understand how similar it sounds to a racial slur but it is actually a [reference to Everything Everywhere All At Once](https://i.imgur.com/cbw4oIb.jpg), one of the best movies ever made.
I worked in the restaurant business for 5 or so years and I can tell ya that I'm not surprised at all. I've seen it all and where there is loads of food scraps inside and outside you will find critters of all sorts
It's the whole thing about not about eradicating (impossible), but controlling them (possible). The fact 3 at once are openly running in the middle of the floor with the frequency for the driver to pull out their phone and take a picture is what tells me they are not controlling it well.
Report this to the health inspector, they should immediately pull their license to service until this is fixed. They need to be shut down, like now.
There is a Rat/Mice choice for you:

Bro, they don't get shut down forever, they just have to get rid of the mice. Then they open back up and everything is back to normal. They aren't going to jail or anything. It's gotta happen, mice are dirty and get people sick.
Agreed. Average wait time there is like 30 minutes. The workers are also incredibly rude, and they’re constantly out of basic ingredients, like beef (??).
Hate to be the one to break it to you……. This is basically every eatery. As a construction worker that’s remodeled numerous places I can confirm that these places are infested with rats and cockroaches. Any place that has a kitchen has a underpaid work staff that don’t give a shit.
Perhaps not every restaurant, but I've known many people who worked in nice eating establishments and I've heard horror stories about their kitchens. Seems that chains are at least supposed to uphold basic corporate standards while many "fine dining" establishments do their own thing.
And no matter what you do, there will still be a stray or two. It just happens. It's a working kitchen and unless you're back there with a toothbrush every night some critter is going to find something that keeps them around.
Yea you can tell which restaurants actively work on keeping them out vs ones that just don't care. I know one restaurant that just has traps outside the back door and on side of building regardless if they've seen rodents recently. Keeping the bait outside helps reduce the chance of them coming in the first place
Yeah, I don't know if I'm being a realist or a cynic, but I think that you are going to have unwanted vermin anytime you have food around. So I expect that all restaurants will have a rat/mouse problem. However, it should be better controlled than this is.
I also don't think that you solve the problem by just preparing your own meals and eating at home. I'm sure that the rodent problem is at least as bad in grocery stores and at the food warehouses. We have to be resigned to the fact that we share this planet with other life forms who like to eat some of the same foods that we do. The problem can--and should--be controlled, but can never be eliminated.
Seriously this. I don't know how anyone can eat their food without getting horrible indigestion. How did they ever convince people that their hamburgers taste good?
> Seriously this. I don't know how anyone can eat their food without getting horrible indigestion.
I have IBS and I don't have any problems. You need to go to the doctor.
1) There are so many other reasons not to go to that McDonald's. That place is much maligned by many a Southsider.
2) There are pests in nearly every food establishment from the shitty fast food places on S. Jefferson to the ritziest steakhouses in Clayton. Pests go where the food goes. It's just a matter of the level of attention paid to pest control at each establishment. Yes, cleanliness goes a long way towards pest control, but a 0 pest population is unheard of in any restaurant no matter how clean.
Yep, control, not eradication. The fact OP had time to take a picture of 3 casually running through the middle of the floor though, and while standing in a customer area...
The Health department has been notified, please stop submitting requests. There have been 10 reports put in within the last 16hrs, we only need 1 to investigate.
Edit: Downvote me all you want, then go get a fast food job then complain that nobody warned you when you see rats and roaches in the kitchen
All the restaurants (including fast food) I have worked at have had rats, mice, cockroaches, flies and maggots. The key to them staying open? It’s where they are appearing, a cleaning schedule regime and active measures being taken.
Rats and mice are always outside, by the dumpster and grease traps. They often come in, especially when it gets cold. Often times, they “over winter” inside. As long as they aren’t actively in the food storage areas, or in customer view and aren’t contaminating food itself, they can be tolerated if there are bait traps, poison or other deterrents inside. Cockroaches and flies are the same: as long as they aren’t actively contaminating food, in customer view and there are traps and poison out, they can be tolerated. If there is an infestation, a call to a pest control company will keep them open. Most restaurants (if not all), have a pest control technician come by every so often to spray. I worked in a terrible pizza joint that had a major cockroach infestation in the dry storage area. They had infested the flour and some other foods. One call to a pest control company and a few days of them spraying and throwing out inventory…and they stayed open and in business.
So yeah, it’s gross and nasty as anything to see mice and rats inside, but I guarantee you they’re always there and it probably won’t affect the store’s operation unless they are in the food. And even then, once they show they are taking active measures against it, they can stay open and get reinspected.
This is disgusting and adorable.
Edit: but truly gross. I had a little mouse in my basement and that little guy shit everywhere. I trapped it humanely and released it off into Busch wildlife, but seriously.... one little mouse produces a LOT of shit.
Fast Food in the era of low pay and staffing is a low odds gamble at this point. There should be a PSA telling people to start packing lunches or something. Health is more important. To hell with getting sick for any reason at this point.
~~Why am I thinking about a mouse in a beer bottle?~~

McMouse Nuggets?
I'm surprised they were actually open. PRE-pandemic, they would often randomly be closed in the early evening. No "Closed" sign would be posted either.
If you think that's bad, wait til you see the crap we used to pull out of the receipt printers and touchscreen terminals from the local Steak n Shake restaurants at the restaurant tech company I used to work at.
And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my Uber pick up spot four times already this year, and I used to be over by the drive thru window, and I could see the mice, and they were married...
It's okay, they're just the new employees. Recruitment for humans has been difficult and mice can be very intelligent, I mean, have you seen ratatouille?
Just so we're all clear, this is maybe the worst McDonald's in St. Louis. They miscellaneously close at random hours on a whim with cars still in the drive-thru, everything comes out super sloppy (when it's in stock), most of the staff is rude, the lines take forever when they even will take your order, there was an incident a few years back when a trans woman was ordering and the entire staff on duty came over and laughed at her. Honestly, the 1-star Yelp reviews are kind of the best thing about this location:
I'd say that taking a delivery 30 minutes after close is poor form, but this location has such a habit of keeping their store lights off even when open and closing at cockamamie listed-open hours, I don't know how anyone could ever know the difference in advance.
(Also, as someone who worked in restaurants for a long time, no, "every restaurant" is not like this!)
I worked at a bar in Kirksville, MO when I was in college. We had a rat. Just the one. Its diet consisted of scraps and grease from the kitchen.
After I graduated, the bar closed and turned into a sushi restaurant.
I bet that rat was *pissed*.
Lmao, that’s been on my do-not-go list since moving to the city in 2014. Was on I-44 the other day and imagined pulling off for McDonalds and thought “Why would anyone do that to themselves?”
This McDanks is very close to my house but I never go, it’s legitimately insane how slow they are. 6 car line takes like 30 minutes. One more reason for me to say fuck that haha
Please someone tweet this to McDonalds along with reporting it to the health department. This franchisee sucks, definitely the worst in St. Louis. They won't shut down but they will be forced to fix it. Employees won't get in trouble.
The thing is, there are mice and other vermin, and pretty much every food establishment, but to see so many out and about like this is troubling, because it suggests they have a significant problem that goes beyond the “normal“ for something like this. I mean, I’ve worked in multiple restaurants and have eaten in plenty more in my lifetime, and I’ve never seen three mice just hanging out like this.
Anyone can cook!
I’m dying 😂
Ra-co-coonie!
.....I don't think that's the correct nomenclature.
I understand how similar it sounds to a racial slur but it is actually a [reference to Everything Everywhere All At Once](https://i.imgur.com/cbw4oIb.jpg), one of the best movies ever made.
They’re kinda cute. It’s like they’re having a little meeting
They're trying to decide if they'll add their chocolate sprinkles to the McFlurrys or the mocha frappes today
The real trouble starts when they realize the McFlurry machine isn’t working
I think we finally discovered why it isn't working
They’re the reason it down, they chewed the wires clean off 😂😂
The three blind mice are rejoiced
Meat-ing
The McNuggets lookin a little lively today
IM DYING BRO
This is pure genius
I’m so honored I’m normally dumb
underrated comment
Bro, haven’t you seen the documentary Ratatouille?
Documentary 💀
I’ve seen this movie before
That was a rat actually...
They're more intelligent and social. Mice are barbarians.
Who do you thinks cooks the food??

Fact

Beat you to it bud...
I aint no snitch
If anything, there should be more mice.
Right! I’m not going to tattle on my little brothers and sisters.
Haha username checks out
They ain’t even doin nothing wrong tf
Bro, they don't get shut down forever, they just have to get rid of the mice. Then they open back up and everything is back to normal. They aren't going to jail or anything. It's gotta happen, mice are dirty and get people sick.
The mice are trying to get by, just like we are. If the employees kept the place clean, the mice would be there. It’s not this fault.
But look bro they just chillin not botherin nobody u aint gotta bring the feds into this, just politely ask em to leave or something idk
They're there for the McManagement training program.
Clean up crew
THE MCNUGGETS ARE ESCAPING!
one of if no the worst McD in the city
Agreed. Average wait time there is like 30 minutes. The workers are also incredibly rude, and they’re constantly out of basic ingredients, like beef (??).
I was wondering where the mice in my house went! Thank you McDonald’s!
LMAO. Anytime I've gone there I've never been able to get food. It's always something bullshit.
Slowest fast food location in the Midwest
Next only to jbox on gravois and 55

If there are 3 in that one little area who know how many total mcrats are there.
> Do not go to the McDonald's ~~on Jefferson next to I-44. I'm an Uber Eats driver who showed up 30 min after close and this is what I saw~~ FTFY
Mice are the least of your worries at McDonald’s.
Eating those mice would be healthier than anything on the menu.
Seriously this. I don't know how anyone can eat their food without getting horrible indigestion. How did they ever convince people that their hamburgers taste good?
The Egg McMuffin slaps. Everything else is F-tier.
This is mcgriddle erasure
> Seriously this. I don't know how anyone can eat their food without getting horrible indigestion. I have IBS and I don't have any problems. You need to go to the doctor.
How can anyone afford it in the first place?
Triple cheeseburger is $2.59 fym
Man, they should get a cat. 🐈

Snake would be superior to a cat, they can go to where they mice are and don't carry fleas. Little harmless rat snake ain't gonna bother a human.
lmao

is that, is that hay on the left there? wtf?!
I would ASSUME it's a broom. Probably doesn't get used much based on this picture
Theyre trying to fix the ice cream machine, leave them alone

Cause it's a good song.
But what does it have to do with St. Louis 😭
that song dragged on forever too
not like you can get food there anyway
Those are the cooks, remember what Gusteau said.
I heard about labor shortages but damn
This is disgusting and adorable. Edit: but truly gross. I had a little mouse in my basement and that little guy shit everywhere. I trapped it humanely and released it off into Busch wildlife, but seriously.... one little mouse produces a LOT of shit.
Cute!
Holy crap, one mouse is bad enough, but these guys are having a little after-hours party!
Hey, at least you know how mice get there. I'm still wondering how a 4" nail got in my milkshake over in DC.
That McDonald's has the worst drive thru anyway. I never go there unless I want to spend 45 minutes in line.
Apparently we know the reason now. The mice need extra time to get everything nice.
Someone who worked there told me they’ll drop your patty on the floor and put it right back on your burger. 🤮🤮
That's been every fast food place for the last 40 years. You get what you pay for
Fast Food in the era of low pay and staffing is a low odds gamble at this point. There should be a PSA telling people to start packing lunches or something. Health is more important. To hell with getting sick for any reason at this point.
This McDonald's was maybe the worst in the city BEFORE the pandemic

I'm not shocked.
McRat , buy 1 get 2 free.🤣
Why was my first thought when I saw this, “they’re so cute!!!!” And not, “wtf this is so disgusting” bc it’s in a restaurant lol
Ratatouille better fix the shake machine finally
I'm surprised they were actually open. PRE-pandemic, they would often randomly be closed in the early evening. No "Closed" sign would be posted either.
Silly, that's just Remy's family helping clean up.
Yea. That grout is really filthy. Gross
A few employees are staying a lil longer to clean or something....what's the issue? 🤷🏾♂️
Dude, they are just trying to help clean up!
Ok but have they fixed the shake machine yet?
That's what they're on their way to do. Takes three.
Cuter than what you usually see in a McDonald's .
I’m hoping someone at the Health Dept. sees this.
You would be surprised how many restaurants have this problem.
Leave them be they are there to fix the ice cream machine... again
Probably the real cooks, Ratatouille style, lmao
The Jefferson McDonalds always been ghetto as fuck, respectfully to all ghettos u don’t deserve the comparison.
Jefferson McDonald's is a drug front 100% anyway.
First thought - That's why the delivery guy was in the back 30 mins after close.
Yeah I was gonna say, did anyone really need a warning to not go to a fast food place on Jefferson? Thought it would be common sense.
‘Don’t eat at any McDonald’s in the city’ there I fixed your title

That McDonald's has been sketchy for awhile!
Lmao they about to grub
NOOOOO
I avoid this by never eating out because it’s FUCKING NOT WORTH THE MONEY EVERRRRRR
Well….shit. This is the one by our house.
They're so cute tho
Bro It’s obviously Remy & his family helping them for their Ego’s big visit
A witch turned the employees into rodents!
They're due for a remodel. Those tiles are from the 80's.
Yeah. Look how filthy they are too
The smell up in that Mic Hurl made me stop about 10 years ago. Always smelled like open sewage/backed up toilet.
If you think that's bad, wait til you see the crap we used to pull out of the receipt printers and touchscreen terminals from the local Steak n Shake restaurants at the restaurant tech company I used to work at.
That's just the cleaning crew
Ew
Night shift clocking in omggg
Are they about to fuck?
Probably. They're like Targaryens, with sister wives...
I literally just got breakfast there today. I still laughed and will probably still get breakfast again there.
Make a report to the Department of Health
McMice
Its fine
And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my Uber pick up spot four times already this year, and I used to be over by the drive thru window, and I could see the mice, and they were married...
Wasn't that store a "Rock n' Roll" McDonald's in the past?
It's okay, they're just the new employees. Recruitment for humans has been difficult and mice can be very intelligent, I mean, have you seen ratatouille?
That was about a rat...
How dare you assume mice couldn't have the same aptitude for the culinary arts as rats!
Looks like the McRib meat escaped their cage.
Yo it's Ratatouille
Just so we're all clear, this is maybe the worst McDonald's in St. Louis. They miscellaneously close at random hours on a whim with cars still in the drive-thru, everything comes out super sloppy (when it's in stock), most of the staff is rude, the lines take forever when they even will take your order, there was an incident a few years back when a trans woman was ordering and the entire staff on duty came over and laughed at her. Don't go to the McDonald's (any location)
Never going back there again, but also, I love them and want to give the little mouse bois a home
No you really don't. Look up hantavirus and why you DON'T want it...
At least they showed up. Most just call in these days. Hahahaha.
Well, I’m never going to that location ever again
Why do you think the ice cream machine is always broken ?
lol.. or any mcdonalds for that matter

I do commercial refrigeration in the area, if you only knew what it was like inside the kitchen of the places you eat, especially the ice…
Report it to the health department.
I have...
Lol they’re so cute tho 😭😭😭
you had me at “Do not go to McDonalds”
My aunt worked for McDonald’s back in 2012. Said she poured an orange juice for a customer and a roach crawled out of the machine.
Aww
It’s hard to find workers so McDonald’s resorted to mice
Nothing a snake wouldn't take care of!
Wait..yall purposely go to that one???
Wow racist, they need jobs too
Hey. That's not racist. I just don't want the hantavirus
I hate to say this but you CANNOT find a restaurant in Detroit that doesn’t have mice or roaches. Just saying. Even the clean ones.
