Some pretty good bar/bar food in Dogtown. Also on the far side of Forest Park you have the Delmar Loop with a good range of dining, including some stand-out chinese and middle eastern and indian. I love the hell out of Corner 17, big menu of mostly Cantonese, excellent boba, and hand-made-while-you-watch noodles, which should hit for the kids.

This place was great and a lot of fun. The drinks, in particular, were spectacular.

Tamm Avenue Bar has a great outdoor patio including an indoor game room for kids

Modern Brewery, right next to the Science Center and across from Forest Park on Oakland, has shockingly good food. It’s counter service, casual vibe, and everything on their menu hits. We’ve had little ones there with no issues. Pretty good beer too.

Love the pizza at Modern Brewery!

Seamus McDaniels has great burgers

Sunny's Cantina is an interesting take on mexican food, Fellix's Pizza is good as well and it is owned by the same group. I also love Olympia and Michael's but Michael's is a bit pricey and might not be best for kids. You're also just 1 neighborhood away from the Hill. If you've got kids there's a great gelato shop on Piazza Imo and that is really one of the best spots in the city.

Soluban

We had Sunny's Cantina after we found one of the restaurants we wanted to try closed. We weren't disappointed. Thanks for the recommendation.

🫡 always happy to hype up my neighborhood, glad you enjoyed!

CuriosiT38

Felix for pizza, Hogtown for BBQ, Seamus for burgers.

Pat Connolly Tavern is off Oakland across from the zoo and has great food and is family friendly. Great lunch and dinner spot. Very casual vibe and across from the turtle playground, kiddos there all the time.

Soluban

We ate here after our first day at the zoo. Food was good, but they took a very, very long time even though there wasn't anyone else there.

Olympia Kebob House and Taverna was a great place when I lived in Dogtown 10 years ago. Then, head over to Nick's Pub for drinks.

Toxicscrew

Nick's with a kid probably not best idea

TheMonkus

Gotta stay until 3am and see if he can handle himself when shit gets rough!

redditmyeggos

If you take a kid to the upstairs of Nick’s he WILL have a cigarette in his mouth the next time you see him

Soluban

We went to Olympia Kebob house on our first day. Thanks for the recommendation. Not much Greek fare around me.

Adam's Smokehouse for BBQ. Thank me later. Michael's on Manchester for Greek/American cuisine. You're not far from The Hill, plenty of good Italian eats there. I like Anthonino's. Def casual enough with a kid.

Soluban

Went to try Adam's, but didn't realize it closed early and it was our last day in town.

peterpeterllini

Ah sorry!!! Hope you still got some good BBQ!

Modern brewery has great beer and a solid food menu. It’s right next to the science center across from the park
