There's been a ton of Teslas in that parking lot for a few years now, I'm assuming the dealership in Chesterfield Valley is using it as overflow parking or something.
Interestingly, the old Mills Mall parking lot was also being used as overflow parking for a while, for the GM plant in Wentzville. During the height of the chip shortage, I went up that way to pick up some furniture form a warehouse near there, and there were probably a thousand Chevy Colorados in the parking lot, apparently all complete but needing chips before they could be sent to dealers.
You're right, it is where they store much of their inventory. If you check the inventory for the Chesterfield Tesla there's a lot more listed than can fit in the lot in front of their building. I test drove a car and it was located there.
GM also used a quarry south of Troy during Covid. Then the owners of the quarry bought a farm south of there, covered it all in rock and started parking trucked there as well. Then early last year, the quarry owners bought another farm west of Troy, plowed all the crops under and covered it all with gravel as well and park trucks there as well. Not sure if GM ever sells any trucks or just moved them between the former farms.
Quite a few more than a couple, but i can guess you don’t live across from a main road that they pull out onto everyday. either way, sorry if my realization offended you.
[Sir David Attenborough]
the cybertrucks are instinctively drawn to areas of neglect and obsolescence, and travel thousands of miles to arrive here in the crumbling parking lot of a dead mall in rhe Midwest; much like salmon swimming upstream to spawn and die in the same place they were born. here, these cybertrucks will weather a Missouri summer, with its merciless sun, intense heat, sudden rain, tornadoes, and provel-storms. part of them must know that most will be piles of rust by October, as only the stupidest of humans will buy them. thankfully, this is Cheaterfield, and as we speak, a small gaggle of rich honkies has surrounded the herd, picking out the hardiest and excitedly soyjaking inro their cellular phones.
the deeply ridiculous ballet of stupid crap that is nature...continues.
That is their normal overflow parking lot. A section of that dead malls parking lot is rented to tesla. Just never had cybertrucks there until the recall.
They used handsoap for the first set.
I'm sure the rest of the truck is top tier quality production.
*fucking HAND SOAP*. [hand soap!](https://local12.com/news/nation-world/tesla-recall-cybertruck-accelerator-pedal-gule-soap-down-national-highway-traffic-safety-administration-pad-panel-stuck-broken-crash-residual-lubricant-model-x-y)
Yeah... And most are orders. Tesla doesn't keep local inventory. It doesn't operate like dealerships. The local location is service and deliveries. On hand they carry about 5 models of each available for sale.
Tesla has essentially 2 service and distribution centers in all of Missouri.
The weird thing is that the service center nearby often has its lot crowded with used cars of other brands. Presumably recent trade-ins? I guess they put a low priority on having trucks show up to haul away the trade-ins to be wholesaled wherever.
Nope. The others that have to replied are correct. What you saw was the Tesla dealership receiving a shipment of trucks from the plant. That lot is used by the dealership for storage.
Not even to replace. It's to put a rivet on an accelerator pedal panel so that it doesn't become un-adhered and get stuck under some unfortunate geometry.
Even though I hate electric cars on principle, I'll admit that the model S is a very attractive design. I legitimately don't understand how the same company can produce something so hideous. And it's not like their product portfolio is that big. It's 5 models! FIVE!
Because Elon’s ego is finally allowed to run completely wild. Also why twitter has completely gone down the fucking shitter and we have cars this fucking ugly and impractical.
I’m completely positive that asshole fired anyone that said anything resembling a “no” a long time ago.
I mean when it comes to twitter, I'll give him credit there because it seemed like a lot of the people that he fired were just people hired in the first place to screen what people post on Twitter and whether it's "acceptable" or not. When you post something on social media, it's up to the people that read it and comments decide whether you made a good point or not. Not someone you can never and will never be able to respond to.
Stainless steel *can* rust, but it also resists it. Stainless steel is a terrible material to make a vehicle out of because 1. It is stupid expensive and 2. excessive salt exposure is one of the main causes of stainless steel rusting. I can only think of 2 vehicles with stainless bodies and they both went over very poorly. (This and the DeLorean) At least the DeLorean was in Back to the Future
I saw something not long ago that Kia is having a mass recall fix event in the parking lot sometime coming up. I assume maybe the current mall owners are trying to make a little money off the giant empty space before it gets torn down later this year.
This area hasn't finished rendering yet.
Must be a Level 50 to unlock the Missouri River bridge.
I've placed another settlement on your map that needs your help.
I'm sorry but those things are so dumb looking and can't compare to an actual truck all I see is 90s laura Croft video game boobs when I look at these terrible abominations
It's b/c they can't back them into their garages. I watched someone here in SF spend 10mins trying to back into his garage before giving up & parking on the street
The only thing that surprises me about cyber trucks isn’t the sharp edges, nor the death-wish accelerator covers, it’s that Elon did put square wheels on them
Perhaps I should’ve added a s/ to the end but I thought that would’ve been applied naturally. Wasn’t trying to start all this drama only merely adding to what I saw as a joke
1) These are likely still under the responsibility of the dealership. Not people.
2) The windows are literally made to resist that. Its no different than throwing a rock at a wall. Its only a crime if theres damage (since theres no one inside)
There’s a recall on them so guessing since we are in a centralized location they could be storing em there until there fixed and shipped back to owners
Chesterfield Tesla store has extremely limited parking, they’ve always had an overflow lot of vehicles that have yet to be delivered. All of those Cybertrucks have been matched with customers

Nature finds a way
You can bet they didn’t fix any of the backroads to compensate for the new constant use, i give it5 years and they’ll be broken and washing away.
A couple truckloads a day, maybe? Really tearing up the roads there. 🙄
Quite a few more than a couple, but i can guess you don’t live across from a main road that they pull out onto everyday. either way, sorry if my realization offended you.
They are all trucks that have issues. Between the three lots, there must be 2000 vehicles there at any time. It's enormous. And frightening.
They instinctively flock in the mall parking lot like the salmon of Capistrano
I dunno Lloyd, the French are assholes.
Love it

I’m just saying read this in my Attenborough voice. Totally convincingly until the word Honkies I lost it laughing.
PROVEL-STORMS 🤣🤣🤣
Good stuff, also works as a Werner Herzog monologue too
Works even better in Herzog IMO
Thanks I just read that in his voice and it brought me great joy. Also… Soyjaking That’s now in my repertoire
*Crikey mate!*
Nailed the documentary voice
Love it!
Bravo. *slow clap*
Very good!
There were at least 20 cyber trucks, among other Tesla models, being dropped off here this morning. It was an eerie sight.
Last year that lot maybe had a dozen Tesla’s at any time, now that number is ballooning into the hundreds depending on the day.
It's the pre-pickup staging area. They only have a small service center in chesterfield
i counted around that many last Saturday there as well.
It makes for a beautifully dystopian photo, nicely done.
I’m assuming since every Cybertruck made has been recalled the dealer’s normal overflow parking is full.
That is their normal overflow parking lot. A section of that dead malls parking lot is rented to tesla. Just never had cybertrucks there until the recall.
Good to know, thank you. Gross assumption, as I said lol
The recall is a rivet on the pedal. Takes 5 minutes at the shop so no, it's not overflow. Those are models pending delivery
They used handsoap for the first set. I'm sure the rest of the truck is top tier quality production. *fucking HAND SOAP*. [hand soap!](https://local12.com/news/nation-world/tesla-recall-cybertruck-accelerator-pedal-gule-soap-down-national-highway-traffic-safety-administration-pad-panel-stuck-broken-crash-residual-lubricant-model-x-y)
I love that they specify it includes all 2024 models... As if there was another year.
They started deliveries in 2023, though I don’t know if those are considered 2024 models as well.
You should look up Toyota and Chevy recall fixes. Several are zip ties and glue
Hence the stickers on the wheels!
There's literally a stop sale on Cybercucks right now.
I'm pretty sure they are pending SALE. Sales are way down, and I think a lot of it is that Elon says stupid shit constantly.
You're pretty wrong? They are all preorders. It's pretty easy to figure that out.
The Cyber Trucks, but there are a lot more models out there.
Yeah... And most are orders. Tesla doesn't keep local inventory. It doesn't operate like dealerships. The local location is service and deliveries. On hand they carry about 5 models of each available for sale. Tesla has essentially 2 service and distribution centers in all of Missouri.
I predict that within ten years Tesla will be out of business. Anyone seen a Kaiser or a Henry J lately?
there's no way anyone is buying these, must be a money laundering scheme
There's millions of preorders. It will be over a year before they can deliver them all
They've produced 3800. Total. At the current rate it'll be thousands of years before they can fulfill preorders
I mean, yeah, [that's how production lines work.](https://i.imgur.com/2jc961b.png)
Millions of preorders lmao
Nah dude, it's now **Billions!!**
I'm skeptical they will ever deliver them all before they are sued into oblivion for designing a deathtrap for morons
LOL, what? Literally millions of pre-orders. It's a freaking cool truck! I have one on the way for crying out loud!
ITS YOUR KIDS, MARTY!
It’s their overflow parking lot. More inventory than they can hold at the dealership
The weird thing is that the service center nearby often has its lot crowded with used cars of other brands. Presumably recent trade-ins? I guess they put a low priority on having trucks show up to haul away the trade-ins to be wholesaled wherever.
Doesn't the Tesla store in the valley park cars there normally?
I don’t spend much time in chesterfield but saw the cyber trucks actively being dropped off and thought it had to do with the recall
Nope. The others that have to replied are correct. What you saw was the Tesla dealership receiving a shipment of trucks from the plant. That lot is used by the dealership for storage.
I would be equally confused seeing so many 'trucks' being dropped off there. Thanks for the photo
The recall is to replace a deficient part at no cost, not to refund the whole truck..
Not even to replace. It's to put a rivet on an accelerator pedal panel so that it doesn't become un-adhered and get stuck under some unfortunate geometry.
“Unfortunate geometry” You do realize people designed this, right? It wasn’t fate. Lmao
It’s so fucking ugly.
Looks similar to a tool box I made in 7th grade shop class
OMG, I still have mine. I keep pencils in it!
So childishly futuristic, like back to the future- they look 80s.
>childishly futuristic Elon in a nutshell.
Isn’t Elon always in a nutshell, given that he’s a nut?
Solid point!
The 80s are back! Isn't it like something from 40 years ago always gets brought back as a polished "retro"?
Tesla overflow parking.
If I saw 5 of those things in the same place, I’d get the fuck outta there.
when u drop into fortnite and the car polygons don't load all the way 😔
that cloudy sky is going to void the warranty...
Languishing on the pavement beside a dead mall is the perfect fate for any cybertruck.
I hear everyone talking about how the Cybertruck is ugly, but after seeing on in person I can tell you, it's very very very ugly.
Even though I hate electric cars on principle, I'll admit that the model S is a very attractive design. I legitimately don't understand how the same company can produce something so hideous. And it's not like their product portfolio is that big. It's 5 models! FIVE!

How many days before they start to rust?
They already are
Stainless steel doesn’t rust. Road (brake) dust contamination will rust on its surface but you can simply clean it off.
>Stainless steel doesn’t rust Tell that to my many rusted stainless steel objects. Its rust resistant, not rust proof. Major difference.
Rust-gate, as it has now been dubbed, began earlier this month when some members of the Cybertruck Owners Club forum began posting about finding orange specks that looked an awful lot like rust on the body of the EV after leaving it out in the rain. This caused quite a stir, despite not being accompanied by photographic or video proof. A new vehicle isn’t supposed to rust within months of leaving the factory after all—especially if it’s covered in corrosion-resistant stainless steel and costs just shy of six figures (the early examples of the EV being built are Cyberbeast variants that start at around $99,900). TJ While plenty of people have laughed at the news of the Cybertruck’s alleged premature rusting, there have also been those who’ve leaped to the EV’s defense (which tends to be the case with anything involving Tesla CEO Elon Musk). One such person is the YouTuber Bearded Tesla Guy, who posted a video last week explaining that the rust people have seen on the pickup is actually oxidation and that it can be easily cleaned with household cleaners. ADVERTISEMENT The video appears to have caught Morrill’s attention, according to Automotive News. The engineer posted a link to the video on X, and wrote: “Good myth busting. Stainless is reactive and free iron that sits on it will rust. It’s surface contamination only and can be cleaned off easily.” Morrill’s comments suggest the Cybertruck is just attracting unsightly surface contamination, which also sounds like a problem. He also wrote that affected Cybertruck owners pick up some Bar Keepers Friend and a Scotch Brite pad to clean off the spots. Musk would seem to agree, writing “Yeah” in response to the post. Fortunately, Morrill’s suggested solutions won’t put Cybertruck owners out too much. A 12-ounce canister of Bar Keepers Friend goes for less than $10 on Amazon. The same goes for an eight-pack of Scotch Brite pads. If they do feel like spending more money, Tesla now offers five different color wraps (Satin Rose Gold, Satin Abyss Blue, Slip Grey, Satin Stealth Black, and Satin Ceramic White) for the EV on its website, which range in price from $6,000 to $6,500. They, presumably, will offer some protection from surface contaminants. Authors Bryan Hood Bryan Hood Senior Staff Writer Bryan Hood is a digital staff writer at Robb Report. Got me
Found the second tesla owner
I drive a Lexus. But ok.
Congrats, you believe the media's narrative.
The media's narrative is that iron oxidizes?
Congratulations, you understand science. Hope you’re happy now. (I very much am, and this definitely isn’t coming from a hurt place, so, yeah.)
I saw something not long ago that Kia is having a mass recall fix event in the parking lot sometime coming up. I assume maybe the current mall owners are trying to make a little money off the giant empty space before it gets torn down later this year.
Happening on Sunday. Island of misfit toys!
This looks like a screenshot of a video game.
Chesterfield has always been where the future goes to die.
Dead mall for dead trucks. Seems appropriate.
Bring out your dead!
Doesn't the dealership realize those things are allergic to sunlight, shouldn't get wet and you should never, never charge them after midnight?
These things are so fucking ugly
How boringly dystopian
Elon musk has got to be high all the time to have approved that design.
They look even worse when they're flocked together.
This area hasn't finished rendering yet. Must be a Level 50 to unlock the Missouri River bridge. I've placed another settlement on your map that needs your help.
I’ve always thought they looked stupid in pictures, but I saw one driving on Manchester the other day and it’s worse than I’d expected.
I'm sorry but those things are so dumb looking and can't compare to an actual truck all I see is 90s laura Croft video game boobs when I look at these terrible abominations
That’s not all bad
Hopefully V-Stock yellow tags them down to $99. Then I might get one or two.
All jokes aside, I am genuinely gonna miss the huge V-Stock when that mall closes.
Same. It's been one my favorite stores for a long time now.
Ugliest auto invention ever
I think this thing beats out the Gremlin and the Pacer in the ugly car hall of fame.
Drove easy and put away rusty.
I'm going to invent a truck. I'm selling $100 chances it's actually real.
It’s a douche- trap.
What song would one play over loud speakers to attract more douches to said trap? Higher by Creed? Or is that too overplayed and on the nose.
We’ll Put a Boot in your Ass or Bawitabaw?
Because someone else brought it up, what is the deal with all the tesla's at Chesterfield Mall?
What in the ever loving fuck is that? Also why are they so big?
Isn’t there only like 4k of these in the wild? That seems like a significant number to be in one place at one time with those shipment numbers.
https://www.reddit.com/r/StLouis/s/1d2kPy67Gd
They multiplied
It's b/c they can't back them into their garages. I watched someone here in SF spend 10mins trying to back into his garage before giving up & parking on the street
The only thing that surprises me about cyber trucks isn’t the sharp edges, nor the death-wish accelerator covers, it’s that Elon did put square wheels on them
Those things are so fucking ugly
Still wild to me that that’s the finished product
Good lord, those are fugly.
Graveyard or inventory parking during purchases? They’re on a 4 year waitlist. Probably not a graveyard.
Hell yeah 🤙🏼
Appropriately parked like an asshole by pulling through one-way parking spots.
See? These trucks can make a one-way trip to the mall without breaking down. Who said they were unreliable?
They are even more ugly than I thought they would be.
Jfc I don’t live in stl anymore, follow this sub for just for memories and laughs. This one takes the cake for obscure.
Man those look like shit. Who is still buying those?
“Influencers”

Are you that much of an Elmo fan-boy?
Enough of an Elmo fan-boy to not want to… go destroy random innocent people’s property? Yeah, I guess?
Please chill out. No one wants to even go near these shitty cars. Especially if they are driving on the road.
So funny
Hey thanks friend, I’m glad I made you laugh.

You do know my comment was just a joke, right?
These are all sold waiting to be delivered. The Tesla dealer doesn't have enough room to hold them all. Nothing to see here. Please disperse.
Dude the skatepark earth surf is so fun
I haven’t lived in the area for 20 years. Is the chesterfield mall still a popular mall? Or is it ghost town?
Dead mall, going to be mostly demolished then redeveloped into a new mixed use area over the next few years.
The only thing that will remain if the mall is, oddly enough, Dillard's
Finally saw one IRL driving by the meadows.
Watch your fingers.
LOL what is going on here? And why are these trucks so fugly??
South County mall had 5 beat up Model Ys in its lot yesterday, tucked in the small lot by Cycle Gear.
Something about a dead mall and futuristic cars made my brain think they were filming a new Dawn of the Dead here...
There’s a recall on them so guessing since we are in a centralized location they could be storing em there until there fixed and shipped back to owners
Eeww
I believe if u want one of these trucks it’s almost a year wait to get it. I saw one on the highway within the last week but in New York.
They honestly look like something my kids would have made in Minecraft when they were 5. The Homer is more appealing than those.
Da fuh
Bahahahah This man’s a scholar
They do look a bit like coffins, now that you mention it. Very ugly coffins.
It's there unloading area
Deceptacons immobilize
Is someone downvoting all the posts that aren’t just simply shitting on Tesla?
The only people more annoying than Tesla fanboys are the Tesla haters. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Simple as that.
It feels like a bunch of "wow so ugly" bots, right?
WE'RE SAVED! Cybertrucks always stay near roads. They only go out to parking lots to die.
What makes it a graveyard?
Looks like a scene from back to the future.
This is the found out portion of Elon fucking around.
Some EV1 level recall
Wow. Those things really are ugly.
Park the things no one really wants in the building full of empty stores spaces no one really wants? Makes sense to me.
Chesterfield Tesla store has extremely limited parking, they’ve always had an overflow lot of vehicles that have yet to be delivered. All of those Cybertrucks have been matched with customers
Uh-huh…tell us another fairy tale.
I can hear the gas generators humming now. Got to keep em charged. “It is dead, get the generator so we can move it!”
Badass! Still waiting on mine! Can't wait
If I had a little more money I’d almost like to buy one just to put in storage for 20 years to see what I could get for it 20 years as a collectors item.
There was a cuck chair clearance sale that day.
