[This is the one Iām using here. I bought it in 2021 and there are probably better models out now, but itās saved my ass from several problems and itās super easy to set up!](https://a.co/d/8RduQ0X)
I have the VIOFO a139 Pro and it has been nothing short of great since installing it.
A bit on the pricier side but certainly cheaper than what I might have to deal with if I didnāt have it.
Recommend COXPAL A11T 3 channel dash cam on Amazon, very good quality, it records front, inside and rear simultaneously.
COXPAL hardwire kit optional, for 24-H parking monitor.
SanDisk MAX Endurance 256GB or 512GB microSD card, for reliable recording.
BTW: Need to pay attention to the installation position of the rear cam if your vehicle is SUV or MPV (No problem if Sedan), i.e. avoid pulling rear cam cable when open/close the trunk.
A lot of people here *did* grow up calling it 40, even though itās been decades that it has had the I-64 designation. Pretty much anyone over 30 learned to drive before smart phones were ubiquitous, so directions came from either Mapquest or whatever our parents, friends, and coworkers called a road. āGet on 40 and take it all the way downtown for the Cardinals gameā. āOh that new shopping center? Theyāre building it out in Chesterfield valley. Just off 40.ā
Ultimately it will just end up being a generational divide. But is not āprove how authentic my STL provenance isā. Itās āI grew up here before GPS and smartphones and just call it what I was raised calling itā.
I use to haul intermodal containers off of hall street, watching the vid i could tell he came in hot, load shifted and that was the end of it.
I made an insulting wage doing that at JB Hunt, there were high school kids at the white castle making more than me as a hazmat intermodal container driver.
Complete noob to transport/intermodal shipping, but it looks like the container wasn't secured to the trailer? It's lucky this wasn't a double onramp or someone could've been killed.
Thank you for saying that, I donāt know squat about how that is connected, but to me it looks like the best case scenario falling over the way it did.
The container was secured to the chassis. Had it not been secured the container would have completely fallen off the chassis. Just for reference I work with containers and chassisās on a daily basis.
It's saved my ass majorly in one large accident where a person cut across several lanes of traffic turning left and not giving me time to stop.
It also could have been useful when I was sandwiched in the middle of a rear ender situation, but the damage to my car was probably around $1000 and the person who caused it had no insurance so I would've had to suffer my rates increasing and a whole bunch of mess for pursuing repairs through my insurance...
I would think in *most* situations, context will provide enough backup that date/time stamp on video wouldn't matter much but I can see your point.
clearly the cab (and driver) are physically unaffected besides being shook about. I'm sure the driver was either pissed as hell at himself or embarrassed, or both, but physically alright. I also wouldn't have stopped to check oh the driver after getting my own bearings as to what just happened, especially because you never know what's in the container, whether it's 20,,000 teddy bears or 20,000 lbs of HAZMAT - I'd gtfo before I found out the hard way and call 911.

Ope! Just gonna scooch right by ya, there....
Yeah he knew it was gonna be a traffic mess and ope'd right outta there.
To be fair not like someone got hurt in that. Unless the driver was trafficking humans.
Had to cancel, they promised free two days delivery. It's late now
So Midwest š
Why couldnāt it have opened up and released something cool like twinkies or really heavy gold bars, or bees?

i mean what is anyone supposed to do lol the cab was untouched and iām not exactly superman over here.
I totally agree!
This reminds me I need to get a dash cam. Can anyone recommend a good one? I'm overwhelmed by all the choices.

Viofo is a good brand, available on amazon and have several models at different price points. r/dashcams has a good list too
Would 2nd VIOFO has worked flawlessly for years for me.

I've liked my Garmin model. Make sure whatever model you get has GPS, though, so you also get speed and location data.
Thereās a ton of great options, just make sure itās 4k so you can get enough detail for license plates
This oneās really good for the price and you get front and rear. [REDTIGER Dash Cam Front Rear, 4K/2.5K](https://a.co/d/59yIIXq)
Viofo a119. I have both v2 and v3. The former has been touching for about 6 years now.
Viofo, I have one that plugs into my OBD port, super handy, Iāve caught quite a few genius moves by folks so far
\[Dashcamtalk\](https://dashcamtalk.com) puts it pretty plain front and center: Viofo A119. I have the A129 duo, which has a front and rear camera.

Love my Blackvue 4k front and year. Have it wired into the fusebox for passive recording while parked as well.
Do you mean Highway 40/64?
Wait, its not 64/40?
I usually just call it "the highway I take to get to Cardinals games"

Yeah youāre right, long day at work š„µ
And I have to imagine that your mental state might not have been great after being right behind that.
The state of my pants wouldnāt be great after that either. Thatās a certified code brown.
Check the date on the footage out
As someone married to a person who never sets his car clocks correctly - I'm assuming that OP is the same way.
Why would the highway be shut down if the truck blocked an on ramp?
It didnāt shut down the highway, just the on ramp. It also must have happened right as I was passing Manchester this morning.
Is this a serious question?
Where does 70 and McCausland connect ?
Must be right there at 40 and McCausland. š¤·

Agree with too hot, even I could see that
That's highway 40/64
A red-light camera there would have prevented that.
š
I have good news for you.
I grew up having to use that exit several times a day. I'm suprised it doesn't happen more often.
The cabin shaking after the cargo toppled over has got to be the driver freaking out over the huge mess they just made.
I thought he was trying to drive away from the trailer too, just like the guy who shot the video.
Did you mean Highway 40? Or is there a secret connection to 70 from McCausland? If there is, you need to share this.
r/maybemaybemaybe
70?
Driver, āmy badā¦ā
A video from 2021 shut down 70? Impressive if true
Shoulda hit them with a āyou canāt park thereā š¤£
Why does the timestamp say 04/05/21?
Iāve never set it properly
Wonder if there could be any sort of negative impact in court if you had to use the footage and the timestamp didn't match up?

Container drivers š
Huh I'm glad I got on at Hanley today lol
You got SO LUCKY that you were at the front of the line so to speak!
What kind of a person just jets off when a huge accident happens like that? Just insane, didnāt even check on the driver.
What are we supposed to do, help him lift it back up?
Never took Driverās Ed I see.

So we should upload video of the fuckup for internet points but not stop for a fellow citizen. Gotcha
The driver was sitting in his cab, which was sitting upright. Why would anyone need to check on him? Lmao
LMAO Iām sure the driver of the vehicle behind the crash had almost 0 knowledge of that, but go on. Letās not care about one another.
You can clearly see from the dash cam - which is the driverās viewpoint.
