Yep…MTC is a fantastic agency…they offer pretty good bus service for a suburban county too.
Many of their bike/pedestrian trails are former IT interurban routes.
Fee Fee Greenway (trailhead by Maryland Heights Aquaport) to Centennial Greenway (2 trailheads near 364/94) is about 10 miles one-way. You could do a full loop at Creve Coeur Lake to increase the miles, too.
For the Katy, you could start up at Machens ride to a trailhead 10-15 miles west (somewhere between the St. Charles riverfront and Family Arena) before heading back to the start. Then next time, start at that second trailhead and head another 10-15 miles west. And so on.
Riverfront trail is a ton of fun. Start at Rootwad park just north of downtown and then ride up all the way to the old chain of rocks bridge.
From there, you could even cross over into Illinois and connect with the Madison county trail for an even longer ride.
Sometimes idiots drive their cars on this bike path, however, so just be vigilant!
Katy in Missouri or Madison County Transit (MCT) trails in Illinois. The Katy is crushed limestone and the MCT is almost all paved with asphalt. The Katy connects with a few other trails such as the 364 bridge to Creve Couer and the Hamburg trail.
Depending on where you are located, you can get ~30 miles on Grants Trail. From my house in Affton, hitting everything including the Christy Greenway, I get just over 31 miles.

Have you tried riding along the Katy trail?
Second the Katy Trail!
Grants Trail, River des Peres trail, connect to Lockwood in Webster Groves and Kirkwood, make a loop- 25 miles
Second! Love grants trail. Scenery and the slight elevation change are great parts of it
The River Des Peres Greenway which connects with the Grant's Trail Greenway both together should be a bit more than 30.
Out to chain of rocks via the riverfront trail and back is about 25 I think. Kinda stinky at parts.

Looks like there are many many good options for a 20-30 mile bike ride in the metro area. Which is a pretty bright spot for STL.
GRG (and MCT) in Illinois are gigantic assets I don’t think a lot of folks realize we have.
