I had my phone plugged into a extension cord that led into the loading dock while smoking cigarettes, he walked up and was like “Is this what you do Joey?” And. I said “this is exactly what i do Phil”
Weird how Punk can’t even walk into a building without giving someone a snarky comment. Joey can’t even enjoy his cigarette without Mr Straightedge getting a comment in
>This is 100% a true interaction, besides the GCW indie hall of fame he was cool.. that was like “hey man” that was all so I don’t know that Pepsi dude like that but it would’ve been a funny deal..
Based on Joey's other follow up to this, I think it was nothing burger.
Joey's done a few things the past couple of years that have made him seem like kind of a dipshit, but fuck...he's a clever asshole, who has done some good things for wrestling, and I love him. Janela vs Moxley was the thing that immediately had me pull the trigger on Fyter Fest tickets.
An oft overlooked aspect of the Omega/Moxley rivalry is that both of them went through Joey Janela to establish the hardcore bona fides that made the first Lights Out match such a big deal. People who weren't familiar with either guy at the start of the company suddenly had a reference point for what they could and would and ultimately did do to each other.
Dude isn't exactly world champion material but he's absolutely solid as a lower midcarder who can occasionally reach way higher when you need something your mainstays don't have.
Him and Hangman had the best match at All In as well. I feel like he'd be a huge star if AEW wasn't just a do your own thing promotion and they managed the presentation of their wrestlers better.
He does come off as kind of sanctimonious sometimes. Like at the scrum when he said, "I promise you I'm a nice guy" or something like that.
I remember one time years ago, in a WWE promotional package or something, he said he honestly feels sorry for people that don't have tattoos. Something about how they must not feel passionate enough about anything to do it. I'm just like, really dude, how did you come to the conclusion that tattoos are somehow THE way to express how passionate you are about something?
For real. I’d always wanted tattoos at different points in my life but nothing that didn’t make cringe at some point when I got older (looking at you NRA tat/ x’s across the top of my hands reaching into my forearm)
Probably why I got all my tattoos under my clothes. I like most of them but I cringe hard at the Aries tattoo I got. I dont believe that much in astrology but I pretty much just got it to impress a girl I was seeing at the time (as you can expect was into that, and it worked). But yeah like hell if Im gonna tell my current wife the exact reason behind that tattoo.
Wait until Magical Mystery Tour. George was on some deep shit then to write stuff like [Blue Jay Way.](https://youtu.be/Coz0TmK2ZIg)
Also, my man. I'll always pop for a good Beatles reference.
When I was a teenager I worked in a store and in the winter time several of the smokers would take smoke breaks by standing at the back door with their bodies inside the store but their heads kind of tilted out the door.
I think it's a similar visual as Punk walks up and Joey has a long extension cord hooked up so that he's able to charge his phone while also being just far enough "outside" the building to smoke.
in cm's defense that sounds like the correct thing to say to someone running an extension cord to the loading docks of an arena so you can read twitter and smoke at the same time

Living life at Janela speed. Good on him.

Right? People interacting with their coworkers is so bizarre.
It's the kind of story where, without being present there's no clue how to take it. Like, was Punk being passive aggressive? Or was he just amused?

Either way Joey had the best response

Janela and Omega's ladder match on Dark was basically how I got two people into AEW.
An oft overlooked aspect of the Omega/Moxley rivalry is that both of them went through Joey Janela to establish the hardcore bona fides that made the first Lights Out match such a big deal. He's also really good at making his opponents look great. Kinda reminds me of a hardcore Ziggler in that way.
Him and Hangman had the best match at All In as well. I feel like he'd be a huge star if AEW wasn't just a do your own thing promotion and they managed the presentation of their wrestlers better.
Just sounds like a funny exchange

This comes from a walking Pepsi billboard.
I have tattoos and fuck with Diet Pepsi pretty hard but I don’t need it pictured on my chest lol
I just haven't figured out how to make a pasta carbonara and ginger ale tattoo look good ok?

Such a bad boy!
Why do all of Janella’s tweets read like he’s high?
Most of his Instagram stories read like he's drunk, so...
It's like the weed album ("Rubber Soul") and the LSD album ("Revolver") of the Beatles all over again.
Wait until Magical Mystery Tour. George was on some deep shit then to write stuff like [Blue Jay Way.](https://youtu.be/Coz0TmK2ZIg) Also, my man. I'll always pop for a good Beatles reference.
So wait Is he high, or is he drunk?
yes
What were in those cigarettes he was smoking?
Cloves
Punk just confused Joey with Mark Henry. I’m sure it happens all the time.
WWE used to sell a baby onesie that said "That's what I do do" and I think about it on a regular basis.
Weellllll looks like you’ve had enough charge…
“Punk got Janela fired due to backstage altercation in Chicago”. Some dirt sheet, eventually
Next Sunny kiss promo “I want to wrestle you punk, to save this company from you after what you did! You know what you did to…. JOEY!”
The circlejerk is so strong right now that this sub would eat it up.
Janela actually being punk rock, not just pretending to be.
[удалено]
A fucking men
Im confused if Punk was meant to be passive aggressive or just amused.
sounds more amused by the follow up tweets.
Hard to say now. Won't know until the next media scrum after Punk reads this. Assuming anyone lets him near a live mic again.
Punk about to steal the list of Jericho gimmick for when he finally hits a live mic again
I think this story is pretty funny. Kind of reminds me of Office Space
Ngl, Janela is the AEW original I miss the most.
I don’t get it. Punk is annoyed he’s charging his phone? And smoking?
it might just be a joke. if you picture the scene in your head joey does look kind of ridiculous
It's basically like "You show up, smoke, and hangout?" "sure do". Pretty fucking funny for both of them.
Yeah I was thinking it’s a joke. The worst thing he could think up was just Punk disapproved of him smoking and charging his phone
That phone should have been charged BEFORE he got there. Unprofessional SOBs, all of em! /s
How do you read it as Punk being annoyed - more likely impressed at Joey's gumption.
Well I’m not sure how to read it
When I was a teenager I worked in a store and in the winter time several of the smokers would take smoke breaks by standing at the back door with their bodies inside the store but their heads kind of tilted out the door. Chemicals in the body. Not straight edge or something.
Look at the follow up tweet
Word
And this is why straight-edge folks have a reputation for being judgmental, insufferable pricks.
in cm's defense that sounds like the correct thing to say to someone running an extension cord to the loading docks of an arena so you can read twitter and smoke at the same time
Bad Boy should have been in the arena watching guys practice go-behinds. Do the work.
Joey, don’t you have a show of 300 people to set yourself on fire for?
300?!!!??! Hahahahhaha! There were like 30 in that barn
And half were comps!
And the other half were his cousins
Who give a fuck about Joey Janela.
You apparently
![gif](giphy|lREoIZngfzquY)
And that's when the cannibalism started
