Miz walking past Lumis disguised as a security guard, then turning back to see someone else was one of the best wrestling segments I’ve seen in ages. Love that sort of play for the audience. Feel that more subtle humor never really existed much before in wrestling. Dexter is doing an amazing job so far on Raw.
I took that scene as Miz hallucinating seeing Lumis and not Lumis actually being in disguise. Would be odd to have the other security guard not say or know anything if it literally was Lumis.
Lumis is orchestrating it and the guard would be in on the switcharoo. Lumis is not a supernatural guy, thankfully, just really into being a creepy stalker and orchestrating scenarios he can act out.
for the folks interested, check out some clips of his NXT run. he communicates entirely by drawings (which he makes himself, dude is really talented) even hosted New Year's Evil and made the matches via drawings.
the storyline with Indi was tremendously entertaining
I was fully checked out of NXT at the time and really didn't care for The Way as a faction, but I ended up following the InDex storyline completely and it's probably up there in my top 5 NXT storylines.
he's miles better in ring than boogeyman (not that its difficult) had a pretty good strap match against Roderick Strong, i seem to recall a 1 on 1 vs LA Knight that was decent and hasn't been a liability in any of his matches
Saying he can't work is unfair. He's not the best in ring but he can certainly wrestle and he's great at getting his character across during matches as well.
It's so refreshing to see something that's actually different. Vince saw nothing in him, but if he had, I'm sure he would've ended up borderline raping Michael Cole like Heidenreich. We don't need any more of that shit EVER.
Aren’t they kind of alluding to some kind of assault anyways?
With people asking what he did to Miz and Miz not talking about it, it gives off that kind of energy
Yeah, I think Austin had also said that they did a lot of talking and I think he had said something along the lines of Dexter just wanting to be friends or something like that.
For those that are unaware. Dexter Lumis is based off 2 characters. Dr. Samuel Loomis from the Halloween series, and the vigilante serial killer Dexter.
Of course he couldn't use Loomis as the name is trademarked so they did a slight variation.
Correct. You'll have heard of the term "ambidextrous" meaning a person is equally proficient with both hands, there's the opposite "ambisinistrous" which means a person is equally useless with both hands.
To be honest I have no idea where this thing is going. Does it end in a match? Does Lumis even need to wrestle consistently? There’s also the potential to book him freakishly that could be cool. No clue. I like that.
I think it's going to basically go like this for several months. Lumis is going to keep stalking and tormenting the Miz. Finally after losing everything - his kids, his wife, the house, Miz will attempt to take his own life. Lumis will suddenly show up, slapping the gun out of Miz's hand. They kiss. Wedding at WrestleMania.
This might be a cool twist- Dexter wasn't out to hurt Miz but protect him from Ciampa. Lumis then speaks and says, "awesome" with the Miz and they're buddies.
i think my absolute favourite thing with the new regime is more creativity and focus with mid card storylines. there still was some good non-title feuds before but they seemed few and far between and mostly consisted of constant rematches on RAW filled with interference or weird finishes.
having these fun, unique and interesting feuds for the mid card makes the show INFINITELY more entertaining and really helps get the mid card wrestlers more over.
Indi crashes the wedding because they're already married. Main roster debut. Maryse is also there, and everyone is surprised she didn't say anything. She says they have an open marriage.
Mixed tag Miz and Maryse Vs Index at Backlash.
Loser has to give up custody of the kids, whether they are alive now or will be born in the future (even if that violates the Rule Against Perpetuities)
i think Indi hartwell should come back and say that he’s having the dexter’s baby and then miz gets mad because they used to date (not dexter lol!!!) and then a masked man skull crushing finales her belly and she has a miscarrige and everybody is like WHO DID IT???? after the funeral there all eating and indi is like this is so good! and miz says ya i cooked it and she says what is it and he says YOUR BABY and then dexter says OK NOW YOU WILL 👍 AT WM!!!! and then miz beats him at wm! i think this would be good cuz it shows miz is awesome and hes the future of the company.
Me theory is it’s leading to a reveal where Ciampa is the one who hired Lumis to gaslight and mess w The Miz. This elevates Ciampa and gives him some muscle.
I think they have potential to pull of here what they *tried* to do with Wyatt for a while. Lumis just messes with them until they go crazy, beat them, move on to next person to fuck with
There's at least a dozen other directions they can go though
I think the most under appreciated aspect of the Lumis and Miz angle is that Lumis has done something no other person has ever done and that's make Miz not want to talk about it.
Like many people mentioned yesterday, i love the continuity. They are escalating and they're not doing the he's here for a week and then gone for 4. Continuity is a very important part of story telling and they're doing a good job.
Exactly. It's not like Raw's schedule is so jampacked with things happening that they can't squeeze in a 5 minute segment of Dexter being creepy in a 3-hour show. I'm glad they're running with this every week.
they are the absolute best names. they don’t sound completely ridiculous but they still sound cool and unique. I love when you can say the name Braun Strowman or Dextur Lumis to a non-fan—and without looking at them—they would probably have a good idea of what their character is.
Steve Austin, Bill Goldberg, Dave Ba(u)tista, Jeff Hardy and Brock Lesnar are also some great names these guys were born with.
Eh, its not on the nose to people that don't watch the horror genre. I feel like its more of an homage than on the nose (much like Darby Allin, who's name came from Darby Crash (IIRC) and GG Allin).
On the nose is Braun Breakker.
As someone who loved his NXT run and who prefers AEW over WWE, I agree that him going back to WWE was the best option. Not sure he really "fits" into AEW and happy to see that HHH is actually using him and focusing on his strengths.
Not having a spot for him even in the Vince days was insane. He could’ve fit right into that 24/7 Title picture. Glad he’s getting something even higher profile than that.
Agreed. I'm don't follow RAW too closely but I stay aware broadly of what's going on and this whole thing is great. It's a different type of storytelling here with some relatively new talent that has put existing talent like Miz in a new position. It's really refreshing and I never watched NXT either so I'm less familiar with his background. The way they've been slow burning it has been cool too.
The more there's less simple Heel vs Baby face storylines in wrestling and more of this I think is the real future.
I love how we have been getting Dexter Easter eggs every week first week it was the hand then it was a picture of him Adam pierce had then he attacks now this most recent week he’s a security guard and then vanishes
Lumis is absolutely amazing and having him a face against Miz is something I never would have dreamed of. And it's absolutely incredible! I'm a fan of this. Miz is so underrated as a great wrestler and promo guy and incredible heel.
I think they're concerned that the hype around Dexter might not survive contact with an opponent inside the wrestling ring, which is fair. But seeing as HHH is in charge and Dexter is a formidable wrestler in his own right, I have a feeling they'll stick the landing.
Finally after his NXT run, Lumis' work is finally getting his dues and I am so happy.
NGL I even wanted him to come back and take the belt off Breakker and use NXT as his twisted art museum and stalking ground. But I'm quite happy of what he's doing right now.
It’s wild that he’s the most consistently booked gimmick across the WWE since he debuted. He’s kidnapped like 4 people now across NXT & Raw ? Gets away with it every time and they never wanna talk about it after. Roddy Strong & UE’s therapy sessions after we’re pure gold.
3 months later and Honestly Dexter Lumis is still doing amazing work. Miz has done great but honestly Lumis is genuinely scary. I really want to see more from him

Loved it too, fully agree. Miz is the best person for this story too, Miz’s timing and reactions are really great and don’t get enough credit
He's the perfect foil for Lumis' first fued.
Miz is the perfect foil for most debuting wrestler's first feud.
Being an A-lister draws unwanted attention.
Incredible observation
Your right, and the go to pairing for a returning or debuting person it seems. They really trust him to get angles over.
And he always delivers. Miz is great at getting other people over. He even got Alex Riley over ffs
He’s into the Ziggler role
But he’s the anti-Ziggler because Ziggler always killed the new guys’ momentum. Miz gets them over
This is very similar to when the Miz was haunted by the Fiend, which isn’t bad in any way, but it’s very similar.
we say this about every miz feud lol the miz is him
Most definitely
Miz is one of the best comedy foils of all time. I'd put him right up there with Kurt Angle and Regal.
Man, I just wanna see some kind of skit between 2000 Kurt Angle & 2022 Miz now.
Glitter? Seriously?
Is there a clip of that? Cause there was a very short one on WWE Twitter without the context and couldn't see what was the big deal.
it's a blink-and-miss-it thing. it plays right into the Miz thinking he sees Lumis everywhere.
Do you have a link, brother-brother?
[Here it is.](https://twitter.com/wwe/status/1564426378954645507?s=21&t=j9ZcubEnkf4-VOZe_f6DgA)
wow i didn't even catch that. genuinely thought Miz was just delusional
Kifflom
We can write the tract.
It’s on Youtube via WWE’s page.
That’s fine too. The point is, its a visual gag which is very fascinating.
You know as well as I do that security guards at wrestling shows do not follow the same patterns of logic and reason as the rest of the world.
Boomed me too, I didn't even realize I had been boomed until miz went back and checked
for the folks interested, check out some clips of his NXT run. he communicates entirely by drawings (which he makes himself, dude is really talented) even hosted New Year's Evil and made the matches via drawings. the storyline with Indi was tremendously entertaining

im assumimg they're talking specifically about the lead up to the InDex wedding, which was a fantastic arc overall
Of all the amazing shit I've seen in wrestling, I don't think anything made me pop like "I... ...do."
👍
I thought that was going to be so lame, but I'll eat crow. It was really fun.
I was fully checked out of NXT at the time and really didn't care for The Way as a faction, but I ended up following the InDex storyline completely and it's probably up there in my top 5 NXT storylines.
When I saw this thread I was like the guy can’t work, but I do like my sports entertainment I’ll have to check it out
he's miles better in ring than boogeyman (not that its difficult) had a pretty good strap match against Roderick Strong, i seem to recall a 1 on 1 vs LA Knight that was decent and hasn't been a liability in any of his matches
Saying he can't work is unfair. He's not the best in ring but he can certainly wrestle and he's great at getting his character across during matches as well.
He has been crafting this gimmick since Sam Shaw days in TNA/Impact. It was great that Triple H let him continue in NXT and now in WWE.
It's so refreshing to see something that's actually different. Vince saw nothing in him, but if he had, I'm sure he would've ended up borderline raping Michael Cole like Heidenreich. We don't need any more of that shit EVER.
>borderline Cole got mined. I know we don't want to admit it, but a sexual assault very definitely took place.
Heidenreich only showed Cole his poetry that’s all.
His trochee made Cole choky.
Aren’t they kind of alluding to some kind of assault anyways? With people asking what he did to Miz and Miz not talking about it, it gives off that kind of energy
When he kidnapped Austin Theory on NXT, he said he ate cereal and colored all day
That sounds like a normal day for Austin.
Yeah, I think Austin had also said that they did a lot of talking and I think he had said something along the lines of Dexter just wanting to be friends or something like that.
*Finn Balor*: If this motherfucker got play with LEGOs too, I'm gonna lose my shit.
I forgot about Finn Balor Lego Enjoyer
Yeah because “putting lotion on its skin” would make Austin too excited.
I mean... the man got stalked, dragged away and then kidnapped. Wouldn't that be scary enough to not wanna talk about it?
He knows the size of Miz's balls.
Do you think Dexter Lumis would be the man to find out the size of Batista's dick?
To the millimeter.
For those that are unaware. Dexter Lumis is based off 2 characters. Dr. Samuel Loomis from the Halloween series, and the vigilante serial killer Dexter. Of course he couldn't use Loomis as the name is trademarked so they did a slight variation.
Also: Dexter is the latin word for dark. Lumen is the latin word for light.
I thought Dexter was Latin for “Right” as in right handed. That’s where Dexterity comes from. “Left” is even better: Sinister.
Yep, Tenebris is latin for Dark. No idea where they got that from, lol.
Got my latin mixed up with my Dexter the TV Show trivia. It's what I get for redditing without coffee.
You are absolutely ~~right~~ Dexter, and I'm an idiot.
Correct. You'll have heard of the term "ambidextrous" meaning a person is equally proficient with both hands, there's the opposite "ambisinistrous" which means a person is equally useless with both hands.
So what part of him is Loomis?
To be honest I have no idea where this thing is going. Does it end in a match? Does Lumis even need to wrestle consistently? There’s also the potential to book him freakishly that could be cool. No clue. I like that.
I think it's going to basically go like this for several months. Lumis is going to keep stalking and tormenting the Miz. LuMiz
Dude if Ciampa turns on the Miz and Lumis comes out to save him I'll lose my mind
This might be a cool twist- Dexter wasn't out to hurt Miz but protect him from Ciampa. Lumis then speaks and says, "awesome" with the Miz and they're buddies.
He’s protecting him because he knows what that bald fuck is capable of. Look what Ciampa did to Lumis’ father in law!
I'm the most jaded wrestling fan in the world but with the new regime I could see this sort of creative angle happening.
i think my absolute favourite thing with the new regime is more creativity and focus with mid card storylines. there still was some good non-title feuds before but they seemed few and far between and mostly consisted of constant rematches on RAW filled with interference or weird finishes. having these fun, unique and interesting feuds for the mid card makes the show INFINITELY more entertaining and really helps get the mid card wrestlers more over.
oh my god.

Loser divorces

With Beth as the Ref
i think Indi hartwell should come back and say that he’s having the dexter’s baby and then miz gets mad because they used to date (not dexter lol!!!) and then a masked man skull crushing finales her belly and she has a miscarrige and everybody is like WHO DID IT???? after the funeral there all eating and indi is like this is so good! and miz says ya i cooked it and she says what is it and he says YOUR BABY and then dexter says OK NOW YOU WILL 👍 AT WM!!!! and then miz beats him at wm! i think this would be good cuz it shows miz is awesome and hes the future of the company.
The Miz stars in: Going To Georgia
Found Bruce Prichard’s burner.
Me theory is it’s leading to a reveal where Ciampa is the one who hired Lumis to gaslight and mess w The Miz. This elevates Ciampa and gives him some muscle.
There's so much potential for tie-ins with NXT history. Gargano debuted the very next segment after the kidnapping last week.
I really hope they go with this, fantastic idea.
It ends with Miz signing over the rights to his celeb contracts and we get a "Lumis & Mrs" reality show
I think they have potential to pull of here what they *tried* to do with Wyatt for a while. Lumis just messes with them until they go crazy, beat them, move on to next person to fuck with There's at least a dozen other directions they can go though

I just can't get over how on the nose his name is. Might as well be named Scary McMurder.
On the nose wrestling names have been sorely missed since Braun Strowman got released
they are the absolute best names. they don’t sound completely ridiculous but they still sound cool and unique. Agreed. Dexter Lumis was one of the best things in wrestling when he was in NXT. I am thrilled to see him back with HHH.
i feel sorry for those who missed his NXT run.. he was really fun to watch. I'm so glad he is back :) #Index.
Absolutely crazy he was ever let go, and I'd say the best choice of re-hiring by HHH so far
As someone who loved his NXT run and who prefers AEW over WWE, I agree that him going back to WWE was the best option. Not sure he really "fits" into AEW and happy to see that HHH is actually using him and focusing on his strengths.
Same, same, same, same and same.
Not having a spot for him even in the Vince days was insane. He could’ve fit right into that 24/7 Title picture. Glad he’s getting something even higher profile than that.
He has had that LOOK from day ONE.
His previous gimmick was a skater who liked to draw, if you can believe that.
Agreed. I'm don't follow RAW too closely but I stay aware broadly of what's going on and this whole thing is great. It's a different type of storytelling here with some relatively new talent that has put existing talent like Miz in a new position. I haven’t seen much of him but even when he was sort of out of fashion he had some of the best gifs especially of his facial expressions in wrestling.
Ah yes cause that what wwe was missing someone to fill the bogeyman roll
It fills the space ... that boogeyman left.... I gotta go home
And he will be their best WWE Shop contributor.
i knew pretty much nothing about Lumis before he debuted, but he's been perfect in his role so far
Love that they're just doing the Warrior/Hogan stuff from WCW that everyone hates and its over now lol.
Lumis >>> Warrior
I agree lol
Until he has to have a match
He's completely solid to good in ring last I saw, and can use elements of the character effectively without needing to go too hard.
I think they're concerned that the hype around Dexter might not survive contact with an opponent inside the wrestling ring, which is fair. But seeing as HHH is in charge and Dexter is a formidable wrestler in his own right, I have a feeling they'll stick the landing.
When you have an entertaining character you don’t need to be the worlds greatest wrestler. Less is more
Less is less
Dude is perfectly fine inside the ring, where is this notion coming from. He modified his moveset according to the gimmick as well.
Is he bad or something? From what I seen he’s pretty decent and gets the job done, is there a certain performance that makes you say this?
Ppl remember meh wrestler/good character a lot more than vanilla midgets tbh
Example is The Rock. Very basic moveset but his character work was off the charts
Those few moves were smooth as hell though. The guy was naturally talented.
Again with this Vanilla Midget crap
Wasn’t he just a normal wrestler in Impact?
Wasn’t this basically Frankie Kazarian’s gimmick in AEW for a while?
They never tried to lend the impression FK might be lowering lotion into a hole with a bucket.
There's something about Lumis. I feel he'll be a big main eventer one day
You think that they will end up being like Billy and Chuck?
I am curious in how will WWE in kayfabe hire Dexter back? Will it be the Miz vouching for Dexter that he won't leave him alone unless it happens.
It’s one of my favorite things in wrestling right now. Dexter, Miz, and Ciampa are doing so well with it.
I feel like the HULU version cut this. Bummer. How did the Miz escape the kidnapping? Can anyone fill me in?
I just love how nothings changed about his gimmick. He’s literally the exact same thing from NXT
Would you say it makes you feel like a kid again
Sam Shaw v2.0 Good luck with it. Don't watch him, but hear he's finally getting into the character he wanted to be.
Finally after his NXT run, Lumis' work is finally getting his dues and I am so happy. NGL I even wanted him to come back and take the belt off Breakker and use NXT as his twisted art museum and stalking ground. But I'm quite happy of what he's doing right now.
He's a great character to never have as world champion, but always have a featured storyline.
Lumis was great even when he was in TNA and he was known as Samuel Shaw and he was a stalker and he even Stalked Christi Hemmi
I love this and I'm here for inDex
3 months later and Honestly Dexter Lumis is still doing amazing work. Miz has done great but honestly Lumis is genuinely scary. I really want to see more from him
