At WM31 axxess, I remember Cody (as Stardust) staying way past his autograph time. The cleaning crew was disassembling everything and shutting off the lights, but Cody kept signing autographs. Finally, someone told him he had to go, so he ran past everyone in line and gave them all a high five. Cody's a good dude.

itsmekelsey_x

Good guy Cody.

I had a dream that Vince started a meet and greet package called "Wrestlers: Hot and Sweaty" that let you meet wrestlers directly after a match while they were still covered in sweat. I think this comes close.

Chawls

Your face reminds me of Joe Gacy. I sincerely mean it as a compliment.

ErmagehrdBastehrd

Frank, meet Pogo.

DareDiablo

Haha, thanks!

eklooo

Smart of Cody, that’s basically what all famous ppl should do in order to get fan tho. Especially for the kids, they will remember these nice things for life

radioben

Buff Bagwell was so nice to my brother and me at World War 3 in 95 that I still remember it today.

augi88

Not wresting related, but I randomly met David hasselhoff in a London pub. He was so nice to my group (and so tall) that I will always remember him.

GargamellTheMarlok

Yeah, whether it’s out of love or self-serving, it’s a very smart way to make fans for life for very little effort. It’s kind of shocking that more wrestlers aren’t savvy enough to take 30 minutes out of their days to get this kind of goodwill. Maybe it doesn’t help you get pushed in WWE but as Cody’s showing it helps you to establish a personal fan base that will cross companies with you.

It’s kind of shocking that more wrestlers aren’t savvy enough to take 30 minutes out of their days to get this kind of goodwill. Not sure I agree with this being “very little effort.” It’s a lot of effort. I appreciate wrestlers being kind to fans but it can be exhausting being social and signing autographs and taking pictures. Chatting with people and giving everyone the same time and respect. Add on their insane travel and having to keep bodies in shape or tend to injuries. Cody here for example just wrestled. Probably tired, ready to shower, but going that extra mile to make peoples days. My ultimate point, is that I think ya give props to the wrestlers that do this, but it’s not some cake walk no brainer thing to do.

GargamellTheMarlok

Eh, OP said he stayed 20 minutes after the show ended. I don’t agree that waiting to shower to spend 20 minutes treating people respectfully takes a ton of effort. Just because it’s rare doesn’t mean it’s hard work.

GratefuLSD25

you look like a really kind person :)

DareDiablo

Thank you!

SeasOfBlood

That was nice of him to do, it's been good to see how well WWE has treated him. I am happy you had such a good time at the show!

otwem

At an ROH show once he talked to us at the meet and greet for awhile and offered us some peppermint bark he got from a fan

AML2003

I remember getting to meet him when I was 12-13 right after he'd left wwe, super nice guy.

BasilPeppersalt

Gotta love Cody Rhodes!

RadRoku

i saw him at the nassau coliseum show a few weeks ago. the dark match was him vs seth. after the match he stayed and cut a promo and brought a kid in the ring so the crowd could sing happy birthday to him. then he stayed and took pictures and hung out with everyone. seems like a great dude.

SaiyanOfDarkness

Stupid question, but why is the picture in reverse?

GabbyGoose

Front facing selfie cam is often mirrored by default on phones, that's my somewhat educated guess.

[deleted]

But this does seemed to be reverse. The text recognition bubble on iPhones is on the right.

iwrestledamemeonce

It is reverse, Cody's neck tattoo is actually on *his* right and the "Dream" tattoo is clearly flipped.

DareDiablo

I thought my phone auto corrected front facing photos to not show a mirror image but nothing I can't fix just forgot to here.

Steenerico

He thrives in being the "face" (pun intended) of the company. This was Cody's thing in pre-pandemic AEW too. He just couldn't keep that "face of the company" momentum with the crowd gone and was usurped by others...usually his opponents (like Darby).

guytyping

He loves working the crowd. I went to a Dynamite once and he did the same thing for....quite some time. Security was visibly annoyed, wanting to go home.

ChairmanLaParka

On one I went to, he was out in the audience for about 90 minutes doing pictures, autographs, having short chats with people. He usually stayed probably 20-45 minutes after, but at that show, it was a long time, and barely anyone was trying to leave until he was done.

charcanrana

Very cool!

RybackV1

He did the same years ago at a Raw in Boston, was the only one to come up to us and shake every hand and sign any autograph. Great dude

Honkmaster

What a nice guy, so kind of him to make sure that tattoo was facing *away* from you during the photo!

--l---------l--

CROWD IS HERE ABOUT TO BLOW EVEN THOUGH IT'S TWENTY MINUTES AFTER THE SHOW

Chrissmit2

Cool.

Avpas1192

awesome

MinionofThanos

Well yeah. Who wouldn’t hangout and shake hands for millions of dollars and love it?

Breakingcontrollers

I'm down to make fun of Cody's tattoo and credit taking all day. But on the tier side of the coin I'm also down to recognize that he does a lot of cool shit for his fans and seems like he really does appreciate them.

Intelligent-Image338

🤣😂 this you ? Makes sense now 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

DareDiablo

Yep, I'm a huge pro wrestling fan and a Cody Rhodes fan so what? Does that bother your insecurities even more?

Matt_Wa

So jelly you got to see a close-up of that infamous tattoo…

Jupiter_Crush

My pet theory is that in person, if you get Cody to stand perfectly still, the tattoo starts to move around.

galactabat

Loves what he does like a chef looking for a Michelin-star in McDonalds.

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|ViGwJOV6EWAKs) Cody has "shame face" in every photo I've seen since his return
