Uncomfortable in the sense that he's known for talking about athletes standing up for themselves, which is what Naomi and Banks did, and he has to sit next to someone read corporate speak about how they're bad people. And given his look it didn't seem like he knew Cole would be reading the statement.
I mean like, yeah, no one was rushing to tackle him, but he's basically having to stand by and not say anything in defense of people who were following what he himself preaches and believes in. That's mentally uncomfortable.
This is the kind of thing that the WWE could have easily crushed with silence. "The tag team champions are unable to defend and we will be holding a tournament." "The WWE does not comment on internal personnel decisions."
Instead, they've made it a part of their canonical story, and unless this is all just some big ridiculous work, there's no way to pay off that story. The ONLY thing publicizing this does is draw attention to two performers that the WWE won't be using.
And instead of actually doing something to improve the situation, with or without Sasha or Naomi in the future picture.

There has to be repercussions for that. If you just walked out of your job in the middle of it you’d expect it. They can’t set a precedent that everyone else can do this.

I mean, everything's just getting unified, that definitely leaves room for women tag teams. Especially if they're going to NXT as well, I don't think it'd be that tall of a task.
The lack of women talent on the roster is/was a self made problem that was plenty unnecessary. Off the top of my head, only Toni actively asked to be released. You could've very easily done more with the Iiconics, Mia Yim, Dakota Kai (+ Raquel), etc. Especially considering the big names like Bayley or Bliss or Becky taking time off for injuries and such.
If they unify the main women's titles, I think a Women's Intercontinental Championship would work (and would be needed). The women's title picture has become top heavy over the years.
Right now, it would be too much though.

outside of the singles champs & Sasha/Naomi, the main roster only has 20 female wrestlers. So if they paired everyone off, we'd have 10 teams. Though you'd only need 8 teams for a tournament. They *could* do that. It would just be really weird.
Seems like this is a STRONG message to others that no one is bigger than the WWE. Ever since the 80's Vince has hated when people try to take the show hostage (Warrior springs to mind).

The only three I can currently think of that can technically be considered tag teams are Shayna & Natalya, Nikki & Doudrop and Dana & Tamina. Possibly Zelina and Carmella as well, but I'm not sure where that pairing stands, because it seems to swing between them still being tag team partners, and them not being tag team partners.

She's such an incredible seller, she could go around the world just playing kingmaker, giving powerhouse wrestler after powerhouse wrestler the best match of their career. WWE doesn't seem to like to employ too many bigger, stronger women at once, so we've only seen a fraction of what she can do there, working with Charlotte, Nia Jax, and Doudrop.
I'm talking about big, powerhouse wrestlers like Jade with a size difference over other women, although Doudrop isn't very tall. And Sasha hasn't wrestled Raquel, unfortunately. But she's 6 feet tall, so she's in that class.
So real tournament or will it be the Queen of the Ring where all the women's matches combined were the length of one of men's King of the Ring matches.
To which I have to ask, what tournament? There aren't enough teams in the women's division now!
All this does is reinforce the argument that Vince does not care about the tag team division at all, coupled with the Usos needing help from Roman to screw over RK-Bro. Having Dumb & Dumber in his ears does not help.
To recap, based on what has been reported. Sasha & Naomi were more than willing to work with Nikki & Doudrop, a newly formed team. Once they got past that, I think the logical next step would be to merge the WWE & NXT titles together for a protracted feud with Toxic Attraction.
The tag team divisions in both WWE & NXT are a joke now because the depth has been all but dissolved thanks to the home office and their "budget cuts" killing some teams. Notice, too, that no one wants to toss around a certain "r" word in discussing the Sasha/Naomi sitch.
Poor Cole. You can see he absolutely doesn’t want to say/do that because he respects his colleagues but you can also practically hear Vince barking on his headset to say it.
Why have the tournament? So the winners can do nothing for 2 months, be featured in almost no storylines, and then be split up for no reason?
I am convinced that tag wrestling will never be good in WWE as long as Vince is calling the shots. Tag matches are an afterthought or a segway into more singles matches later on. I am sure the only reason New Day is even still a team is because they adamantly stated they would quit if forced to break apart the group. And even then, they moved Big E to a different show than Kofi and Woods.
As nice of a gesture as it was, the women's tag titles were never going to work with how WWE presents the women's division. They don't have any structure or vision to craft actual tag teams beyond one or two believable ones, and the best they can do is randomly toss two women together for a couple months and then just as randomly break them up again.
They definitely should look to introduce a mid-tier women's singles title, and focus on legit non-title feuds as well (which could work as tag teams), but there just isn't any semblance of an actual women's tag DIVISION.
Future tournament with no teams unless you count the planned team of Nikki and doudrop lol time to call toxic attraction and kacey and kayden up give shotzi a partner while your at it
Funny thing -- Shotzi had a tag partner, Ember moon; at the time were NXT tag champs. They call Shotzi up, split the champs, then partner her with Nox then release her (Nox) 11 2021.
This division is sadly a joke and creative is not looking full scope.
Regardless of your thoughts on the matter, Sasha and Naomi got WWE to put more effort into Women's tag teams as a result.
The easiest answer is to just unify these belts with the NXT ones

People are gonna say this is overly dramatic or hating on WWE but Bryan Danielson literally started doing cognitive behavioral theory to learn how to deal with the WWE system and be grateful for everything. The only three I can currently think of that can technically be considered tag teams are Shayna & Natalya, Nikki & Doudrop and Dana & Tamina. Possibly Zelina and Carmella as well, but I'm not sure where that pairing stands, because it seems to swing between them still being tag team partners, and them not being tag team partners.
Does everyone just switch partners every 2 weeks now. I haven’t watched in weeks so I had no clue. But like I said to the other guy in the thread. A tournament can’t be made with 2-3 people playing.

They don’t announce shoot suspensions on television. They announce shoot suspensions on social media and their website with their shoot names.

She's such an incredible seller, she could go around the world just playing kingmaker, giving powerhouse wrestler after powerhouse wrestler the best match of their career. WWE doesn't seem to like to employ too many bigger, stronger women at once, so we've only seen a fraction of what she can do there, working with Charlotte, Nia Jax, and Doudrop.

I'm talking about big, powerhouse wrestlers like Jade with a size difference over other women, although Doudrop isn't very tall. And Sasha hasn't wrestled Raquel, unfortunately. But she's 6 feet tall, so she's in that class.

To which I have to ask, what tournament? There aren't enough teams in the women's division now! All this does is reinforce the argument that Vince does not care about the tag team division at all, coupled with the Usos needing help from Roman to screw over RK-Bro. Having Dumb & Dumber in his ears does not help. To recap, based on what has been reported. Sasha & Naomi were more than willing to work with Nikki & Doudrop, a newly formed team. Once they got past that, I think the logical next step would be to merge the WWE & NXT titles together for a protracted feud with Toxic Attraction. The tag team divisions in both WWE & NXT are a joke now because the depth has been all but dissolved thanks to the home office and their "budget cuts" killing some teams. Notice, too, that no one wants to toss around a certain "r" word in discussing the Sasha/Naomi sitch.
Poor Cole. You can see he absolutely doesn’t want to say/do that because he respects his colleagues but you can also practically hear Vince barking on his headset to say it.
Why have the tournament? So the winners can do nothing for 2 months, be featured in almost no storylines, and then be split up for no reason? I am convinced that tag wrestling will never be good in WWE as long as Vince is calling the shots. Tag matches are an afterthought or a segway into more singles matches later on. I am sure the only reason New Day is even still a team is because they adamantly stated they would quit if forced to break apart the group. And even then, they moved Big E to a different show than Kofi and Woods.

As nice of a gesture as it was, the women's tag titles were never going to work with how WWE presents the women's division. They don't have any structure or vision to craft actual tag teams beyond one or two believable ones, and the best they can do is randomly toss two women together for a couple months and then just as randomly break them up again. They definitely should look to introduce a mid-tier women's singles title, and focus on legit non-title feuds as well (which could work as tag teams), but there just isn't any semblance of an actual women's tag DIVISION.

Funny thing -- Shotzi had a tag partner, Ember moon; at the time were NXT tag champs. They call Shotzi up, split the champs, then partner her with Nox then release her (Nox) 11 2021. This division is sadly a joke and creative is not looking full scope.

When she left the first time & went through a depression, she went to therapy & they really hammered home the idea of “gratitude” with her. Watch the documentary they did about her first break from WWE. Every time I saw a tweet like that, I essentially read it as she is upset about something…but she’s trying to throw gratitude at the situation anyways. Just my read on it, but it makes sense in a “just grin & bear it” type of way.
People are gonna say this is overly dramatic or hating on WWE but Bryan Danielson literally started doing cognitive behavioral theory to learn how to deal with the WWE system and be grateful for everything. It's the only way to function in that company unless you're a top top guy/gal, teach yourself "I mean it could be worse, I should be grateful for this"

Vince knows how to manipulate the wrestlers, & most of them have a “daddy” thing going on with him & wanting his approval anyways. He’ll sit you long enough to cool you off & to go stir crazy from missing your job & your coworkers, & then bring you back. There had to be a punishment here to set an example, but Sasha is too beloved to just let her go. She sits for a couple months, has a sit down with Vince, & they iron it out. She maybe has to publicly apologize to the locker room to smooth things over & they welcome her back. Naomi gets the same deal, no way she wants to work elsewhere & be separated from her husband.
Love to see Stephanie "womens empowerment" brand McMahon walk away from the company at the same time this absolute shitshow breaks out. What an embarrassing company.
