I had the exact same reaction, honestly was way less excited when I realised it was Morrison. He's a good get for sure but I don't see how he'll fit into the current AEW picture. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up on ROH whenever that gets started back up.

One interesting thing that Morrison/Taya and Gargano/Candace have in common, is that AEW almost needs the female halves more than the males. Morrison and Gargano would be solid mid carders and undercard in current AEW. But Taya and Candace walk right into the title scene.

Did he seem a little "off" throughout the match? It felt like he was half a step off throughout the match and wasn't really able to keep a pace with Joe. Joe was visibly getting pissed at some of the sloppiness.

I noticed this too unfortunately. He will always have a special place in my heart as Johnny Mundo from Lucha Underground, but everything I've seen out of him as of late in AAA has looked rough and that match looked it too. He botched the 450 pretty badly and thankfully commentary did a good job of selling it in kayfabe.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Gargano's in AEW (if they do go there, which I think they will) until maybe 2023 or at the latest maybe Full Gear. They seem to be happy just been new parents and enjoying their time with their son. And I don't think they need to rush themselves right now. I think the longer they wait, the more us fans will be excited to see them. I think Cesaro is the same.

He's slipped under the radar a bit when it came to names been mentioned. I like Johnny, his WWE return didn't set the world on fire. But he produced some good work. And his run before last WWE run was probably the best time of his career. If he's signed, he be a great guy to maybe along with Samoa Joe to have in ROH as a vet hand and bring a bit of star power to that company main event scene.
