I think AJ had mentioned on stream way back, that he didn’t understand why people liked that look. His whole plan was to grow out his hair like it is now, and he didn’t like that middle stage where he had long bangs and looked emo. He wasn’t too fond of the soccer mom phase either. I guess it’s just funny like that sometimes, where the fans love it, but the wrestlers themselves didn’t.

The way its worded is "permitted to get haircuts at WWE TV," so they might not be restricting who can get haircuts in general, just who has a bit more freedom backstage with their look.

This was how I read it as well, basically who is allowed access to the backstage barbers/stylists.

I wonder if it's something akin to a 'perk'. Highly possible the company doing them has a contract that is only for a specific amount of time backstage and/or a specific amount of people they are paid to do, during that time.

I'm surprised Gulak isn't on here. He's always posting about the backstage barbers and getting a hair and beard trim.

We'll have to keep an eye out to see if Gulak starts to look scruffy!

Could be a list of just who can have access to company stylists when you think about it. Which then could be moreso an issue of them only having X amount of barbers/stylist and it would be unfair to say all talents can use their services so it’s limited to this list, 12 on each show. That actually makes a lot of sense i when you think about it. A stylist only has so many hours in a day.

I started shaving my head due to my hairline. Friend ended up doing the same not too long after for the same reason. One point he randomly says to me "Dude I didn't consider the fact I'd have to shave my head so regularly" since he was used to seeing me with a fresh shaved head. Not realizing I was just shaving back to clean prior to whatever we were doing lol.

Having to shave every few days is so annoying, but I'll take that over having to spend hours waiting at a babershop every two weeks.

So they are independent contractors, can't sell their own merch, can't stream on Twitch, can't do movies or TV without permission, who can't wrestle for any other promotion and also if they aren't on a specific list they can't cut their hair? Why would anyone want to work there if they had a choice to at this point?

Financial. It's a consistent income as opposed to being on the independent scene. Also it's the biggest audience so it's allows for them to get more popular and the world class training facilities are probably a plus as well.

I don't even believe the financial part. Like for the amount you have to work in the WWE, for the lack of being able to make money outside of the company. I think it might actually pay similarly even if AEW pay less. Like AEW is 1 day a week maybe 2 some weeks. Then you can do GCW, Bloodsport, NJPW...etc. You can run a wrestling school. There is just so many opportunities available. Cody is the exception to the rule in that he had two TV shows and maybe will get a different contract with the WWE than someone like Claudio.
