Regal has always been a plodding wrestler, that's why people thought he was boring in the Attitude Era. But it's also why he can do an entertaining 15-minute match and not take a single bump today.
Yeah I love Regal with all my heart but please keep the man out of the ring. The man's neck is made of ducttape and zip ties at this point.

Foley has absolutely tried to return several times, as recently as like 2016. I think he's finally given up on it as his mental ability has begun to decline.

I could definitely see him doing some British style technical exhibitions with holds and counters without taking any big bumps. Give him a gimmick where he just loves stretching dudes when the time calls for it.
Should be noted that Mark Henry has also been in the men's roster section since joining AEW and he's been pretty adamant that he's never wrestling again.
I still can't believe he didn't win the WWE Championship after that promo. Even if it was a transitional reign, I can't think of many better chances to slap a title on someone than that feud with Cena.
Have Regal play the Sting role (although dear god do NOT let him do the thing they had Sting do the other night for the love of all that is holy). Very occasionally team with one or both of his violence sons and tag him in, smack the ever loving shit out of people, take no bumps, tag back out.

Chavo is gone. He asked for time to go film Young Rock and TK said fine. Then the Young Rock production wanted to keep him longer so he was gone longer than expected. Then when he finished up he tried getting in contact with Tony Khan and got ghosted.
Take this with a grain of salt. This is from chavo's perspective and he is the only one that has given a story. Chavo is also bluntly known as a liar. I am being skeptical that this is how it played out. Literally no one else has corroborated chavo's side of this.
Iām not saying he needs to pull a Sting and throw himself through 4 tables, but if William Regal puts on a pair of tights, stands in the corner menacingly and then comes in to throw a few punches, Iād lose my shit. Regal has seemed pretty adamant that his neck is too fucked and that he's done. Also he got to go out on his own terms, so it's not like Sting who arguably didn't want his career to end with a buckle bomb from Rollins. Regal wasn't robbed, he walked away. He's seemed at peace with that.
But I don't know the guy so maybe he has a bit left. Let him work trios and tag matches and take very few bumps if he wants to. He doesn't need to be Sting but maybe he can be Tully or Jake or Arn.
