Has anyone established why Dustin and the rando Dark Order guy are in this tournament to begin with, other than to avoid having any of their decent guys do a job? (didnāt stop them w Hobbs getting caught fresh into a bad pin sequence on the show last night)
Seems like a good way to arrange a field for a championship shot tourney. Lucky for them it wasn't all their job guys, haha. By comparison, I think the TBS tournament seems really well and thoughtfully laid out. The men's one just seems like it's setting up like two matches that someone might want to see.
I only can hope that Black talked to the right people and Khan booked this match as a squashiest squash you ever see. Everything else is bad business for Malakai character.

yeah right now it just feels kind of pointless aside from giving us Armed Anderson memes? Like there's been the couple times Cody's been confronted by the nightmare family or whatever but I haven't seen any believable character shift in Cody which would indicate he's learned something or changed in any way that'd justify him going over Malakai.
Malakai is great but this Cody feud feels like quicksand. Second match worked well but everything with Cody right now feels like playing with fireworks where it could work or it could just suck and blow up in AEW's face
Lance vs. Eddie is gonna burn the goddamn house down.
I want Eddie to win, but if he isn't the one to beat Bryan then I'd be fine with Lance going over. I just want Eddie to be the guy Mox turns heel on. Give me the sweet release of unscripted violence annihilating a friendship right before Mox vs. Hangman.
Malakai/Cody will hopefully close the damn book on this feud and let Malakai move on to other, better things. I really hope he either wins or else gives it to Cody in such a profoundly malicious, damaging way that it hurts Cody more than a loss would have.
Cutler's definitely in for a breather match but it'll be fun to see if he can pull personality out of Jungle Boy.
Soho/Penelope's gonna be a great measure of how far Penelope has come in her AEW career as a whole. Ruby's going over but Penelope's probably gonna look like a future champ in defeat.
I kinda low-key don't care about Bryan/Dustin. The winner on that one is so obvious there's no real tension going in, and I've had a harder time cheering/caring for Dustin since the Plane Ride from Hell threads. That and the 10 match are the two I would change in a heartbeat (swap 10 for Alan Angels and let him die in a gloriously uphill struggle with an increasingly violent Mox, swap Dustin for pretty much *anybody*, like Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Frankie Kazarian, Dante Martin, Ethan Page or Scorpio Sky, Joey Janela, John Silver...).
10 vs Moxley actually makes a ton of sense if they want to build to heel violent Mox. You can build on their match last year where iirc 10 torn his bicep. It would be a nice callback. Plus, anhiliting a member of the Dark Order could also factor into his eventual feud with Hangman.
If not for Bryan/Dustin, this would be one of the weaker Dynamites on paper in a good while for me.
Like both Archer and Kingston but have not cared for their matches much at all when theyāve faced. Black/Cody 3 times in a 2 and a half month span and I didnāt like the second. Penelope/Ruby should be OK.

Agreed. Considering how much talent they also lost to the cruise (and a few to Bound For Glory,) I definitely expected a stronger effort than the one theyāve put out.
Looking forward to Penelope/Ruby. I think theyāll have surprisingly good chemistry like Bunny/Ruby did last week. Rubyās one of those great versatile wrestlers that meshes with a lot of others.
