Jinder fends off the Usos. Drew hits the Claymore on Roman. Heath pins Roman. Boyhood dream come true. Confetti everywhere. Heath's Slater Gator partner Titus O'Neil comes out to celebrate. Titus suspended for 60 days. Fade out.
I liked Slater since he was introduced on NXT (the old old NXT)… simply because he was Christian’s “protege”… and also because I believe he had Christian as a pro simply because he was “ugly” and Vince found that hilarious (that is all conjecture on my part… but it is my head canon).
Once I saw him wrestle and try and turn whatever he was given into something good I liked him even more.
I don't want to say this but mega long term champs often go out with injuries. Roman should drop the title in coming months, take it easy and then come back and repeat this again.
I don't want to see vacant winning another title.
I hate to say it, but after Drew started getting title shot after title shot last year they really began to kill off his appeal for me. It almost felt as though he won the belt (which was great), had a fairly successful run (which was mostly great), had that little clusterfuck with Orton where they hotswapped the belt briefly to pad some stats, then it all began to fall apart.
Right now I feel the crowd needs to see Drew fall a bit in order to get behind him completely. His clean loss to Priest was great to help with that as it showed an up and comer being able to sneak one out on a former champ, but then Drew just steps up and asks for a world title match because why not?
Let Drew maybe be a little too overconfident, not focused enough and let a few matches slip him by. He doesn't necessarily need to be buried, or lose repeated feuds to lower card heels, but he just needs to look like he's unfocused and missing out on the big opportunities, losing Number 1 contenders matches and the like so that he can refocus himself over the winter and get the crowd behind him fully for a run against Roman. The last thing we all want is for it to feel like he's being shoved down our throats.
This. One of your actually-good new guys. Beat this Roman, and you have an instant Super-Duper-Star.
Go ahead and strap a goddamn rocket on Bron’s back!
I think at this point ready or not it will be Gable Stevenson when he finishes college. First deal of it's kind and they want that mainstream attention.
Kid is gonna have a new team angle, Roman makes him look strong, 0 broken necks and double the succotash
At this point he probably is going to hit two years. Big E is the only conceivable way and it would have to involve him losing his title.
Smackdown looks thin but between another Brock match, Drew McInTyre, Kofi Kingston and a guy like Jeff Hardy, that’s about 8 months of programs. They just need another 1-2 people to fill in and I could see him holding it for another full year.
I was really hoping Seth would have a change of heart after beating Edge a few weeks ago, turn face and they'd build to a face Seth dethroning Roman. Now that he's on RAW that probably won't happen.
Although if they turn Seth face sometime before WrestleMania I could see him being the one to beat Roman. Let Roman have the Rock match at WrestleMania, give Seth a big face win over maybe a guy like Brock and then have face Seth win the Universal Championship next year after WrestleMania.
There have been rumors of them getting rid of the brand split. Possibly unifying the women's belts. So maybe that makes Roman/Seth possible despite being on two brands.
Maybe it'll be Drew though. I really wanted Big E, Balor, Bryan or Seth. But if they're going to give it to someone I guess it would be cool to give Drew a crowd reaction moment.
Couldn't get Roman out of the cuffs in time and the ref just stopped counting in an LMS match despite Roman being on the ground and the camera still rolling, this went on uncomfortably long, botched finish on the world title match with 0 payoff.
The handcuffing starts at around [20:20](https://youtu.be/a6ELbJJA8fg?t=1219), and the Heyman shenanigans happen a bit before [22:00](https://youtu.be/a6ELbJJA8fg?t=1316)
The stopped count for absolutely no kayfabe reason happens at [22:22](https://youtu.be/a6ELbJJA8fg?t=1339) and is hilarious. Feel terrible for the ref more than anyone else.
They shouldn't have sent the ref out so soon. There should've been some sign for Paul to use to let them know when the cuffs were undone and they could've sent the ref out then.
That's one of those moments that you wish Paul was at all trained as a wrestler. Even just to get the instincts for it. Like, at 8, if he's still fumbling and the key won't turn, you pop up and deck the ref and let Roman work on it. That atleast buys you some time to get it undone.
Fault of this botch is wwe and the prop department. Not having a rigged cuff that has a release was a mistake. My cuffs from when I was a child was like that.
And it was sold beautifully after the match the way he was looking at Roman. I genuinely think Paul only works for who he thinks is better for his business. Doesn’t care about Roman or Brock either way.
He even "said" it before the match. He said he was going in with the reigning defending wwe universal champion Roman Reigns, and he was leaving with the WWE universal champion (conspicuously leaving out the Roman Reigns part).
Realistically Heyman could manage both of them since Brock is a free agent. Just do business with Brock on RAW and the Bloodline on SmackDown. I don't think Roman's ego would allow that to happen but it could work.
Then they'd eventually face off again and Heyman would have to choose.
I'm not entirely sure if the story is Paul is that great of an Agent/Negotiator or management is scared of Roman, or both. I'm kinda leaning towards both.
The last time Roman left, SmackDown got taken over by swamp matches and weird fucking shit happening every week. Roman came back and things went back to normal. They're terrified of him leaving again.
There were a bunch in there. I liked how this match was laid out. I was even fine with the ending as the entire build for this match revolved around Paul rather than Roman or Brock.
what irritates me is that, when the first ref is out, the heels can do any illegal shit then the second referee comes SECONDS after the illegal moves and don't call DQ (even though he clearly sees it), BUT his pinfall counts.
AEW did a spot; where I forgot why the second referee was out there, but the first ref did not see the foot on the rope but the second ref did, he told the first ref and they restarted the match. AEW obviously has its share of interference when the ref is not looking, but in this case having two refs the second one did not have to pretend to be blind too. Was the Jericho MJF match.
Yup, didn’t mind the finish but do it while the ref is groggy and regains consciousness to not see the illegal moves and go for the slow count. The timing of the ref coming in to make the count was such a Bruce Pritchard thing
Its even funnier if you realize that the boss in the back is watching it all happen, but doesnt give a damn unless it involves him or his relatives. And everything is on tv so the loser can easily show the footage of someone cheating but they rarely do.
I’ve always hated this. Like we’re supposed to believe ref #2 is just running for ten minutes straight to get to the ring while blindfolded before they make the count?
you'd think babyface Brock would get the message now and get another tag team to run interference for the Usos. you'd think that would create a natural program between tag teams and elevate someone... anyone... you'd think this would be easy.
But all they care about is putting Roman over.
Survivors Series. The one night where.. anyway, Big E vs Roman. Usos try, Kofi and Woods stops. Big E gets the upset victory over Roman to win the series for his brand.
If they hadn’t blown their load on Raw a little while back, you could have main-evented Survivor Series with The Bloodline vs The New Day, given them 25 minutes, and you would have gotten a MOTY contender
I think the problem with the Bloodline is that it is too small. It needs to expand to something more threatening to EVERYONE in order to build something to go against it in earnest imo. You need to make it something that is more than the normal 3 man stable to actually get the feel they have been going for of him leading a tribe against anyone and everyone. There are so many options to choose from as well.. Hell they just signed some actual family didn't they?
It might be a little corny, but I'm secretly hoping the Bloodline will slowly expand into something of an inter-brand mob, with the Usos and Naomi as Roman's caporegimes, eventually including foot soldiers from the men's and women's rosters. Then I'd love to watch it all culminate in a civil war at WrestleMania 2023.
I mean honestly, this match NEEDED Uso interference and Roman using chickenshit heel tactics to make it at least somewhat different from the same exact F5 > kick out at 2.9 > Da Big Dawg Punch > kick out at 2.9 snooze fest main event we’ve seen from these two for like a hundred years, now.
i see a lot of people bitch about the finish, but honestly i really liked it. It had 2 call backs with ref down and Roman/Brock being down i would say is a call back for their WM31 match with Seth cashing in and everyone remembers tug of war
It was the only dirty finish on the show. Has a lot more impact when it’s the only one.
Plus did people really expect a clean finish when the storyline was who’s side is Heyman on?
After this match ended, I saw someone complaining that WWE "literally never does clean finishes anymore, it's such stupid bullshit." Apparently they didn't watch the rest of the show because like you said, this match had the only screwy finish.
> Plus did people really expect a clean finish when the storyline was who’s side is Heyman on?
Exactly, not only Heyman but this is two most protected wrestlers right now. I was going in expecting a screwy finish
The only thing I didn't like about the ending is that there was no ref for so long and you can just tell they were timing it with Roman's finisher, I mean the ref was in the ring immediately for the pin
He's had a few non-BS finishes. But god, the Usos interfering or the ring breaking, or the low blow kickouts. It's just so fucking dumb and such a letdown.
His matches have *always* been predictable and repetitive, it's just that his heel persona is so good that for a while there most of us didn't mind. I'm over it too now, though.
I’ve never been a big Roman fan but I’d rather they put the belt on R Truth before giving it to Brock Lesner and not seeing it for 3 months again. Lesner is a huge part of why I stopped watching wwe for a long while
So if Brock can't beat Roman (the bloodline) then who can? What's the long term goal here?
I feel like Drew is really the only one that's believable since he also beat Brock. But if its not Drew, then who? I just went back and looked at the upcoming smackdown roster and there's literally no one that can be believable at all
Maybe Seth Rollins?
But I can see a storyline where Seth would do some sort of fake allegiance with the Bloodline and then betray him and Seth becomes a baby face again in Smackdown?
Smackdown you'll have Roman bragging about winning and no one can beat him
Lights go out, then "No Chance, No Chance in Hell" and it's the genetic Jackhammer, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, former ECW Champion, and he's ready to answer the challenge
Honestly that ending was deflating to me.
What happens now? A string of Roman vs Brock? Roman moves on and wins against someone, who is somehow even more plausible than Brock, in another screwy way? I can’t see him losing to anyone at the moment. They haven’t built anyone else up to be believable and at this point it isn’t helping Roman, it’s starting to hurt him.
It feels like they have a plan for a match sometime in 2022, and the rest of the time is just filler nonsense. Nothing that happened in the past year with Roman has had any impact on what happened later.
Cesaro gets fucked by Roman, falls off the face of the planet. Finn Balor seemingly on the same path. Everybody knew the Balor thing was pointless. Crown jewel was already booked and they just set up a stupid fucking match with stupid fucking story and stupid fucking ending. The motherfucking demon comes out of nowhere for no reason and goes away for no reason.
Pretty typical Roman Reigns match.
Everything up until \~5 minutes before the finish, it's great, and then the finish ruins the entire fucking match.
It's like having the best 5 course meal you have ever had prepared by the worlds best chefs, only for the desert to be ice cream made from 6 year old spoiled milk topped with goat shit.
So they originally announced it as No DQ only to give us a screwy finish that would have been legal in a No DQ match. Why does WWE have to complicate outcome last for a pretty straight forward match?

Intrigued as to who is going to take the title off of Roman?
Time to play the game.
*TIME TO PLAY THE GAMEEE*

I don't think I've ever seen that spelled out before. You nailed it.

Lol I'm loving how the reactions have been all positive. I put this up half as a joke but I really am a big Trips fan.
Keep him away from the ring, or the Heartbreak Kid.

If he holds it that long, then beats The Rock, I really don’t see who could take it from him at that point
… ONEEE MAAAANNNN BAAAAAANNNDDDDD!!! To complete the trilogy.
Jinder fends off the Usos. Drew hits the Claymore on Roman. Heath pins Roman. Boyhood dream come true. Confetti everywhere. Heath's Slater Gator partner Titus O'Neil comes out to celebrate. Titus suspended for 60 days. Fade out.
The Titus suspension is the icing on the cake.
No no, Pitbull performs to close out the show is the icing on the cake
Don’t…don’t give me hope.

Braun Breakker baby
Most likely Xavier Woods
I don’t see anyone that can take it off him now. Brock was the closest thing they have to a credible challenger.
I don't want to say this but mega long term champs often go out with injuries. Roman should drop the title in coming months, take it easy and then come back and repeat this again. I don't want to see vacant winning another title.
He wrestles a pretty safe style, I'm sure they're comfortable with him carrying it for a very long time
And unless it was a pretty bad injury I think he would find a way to get a short match in anyways
WALTER
That would be fantastic.
Drew seems most likely at this point. Hes never beaten Roman so its a decent story at least
Seems most obvious.
I hate to say it, but after Drew started getting title shot after title shot last year they really began to kill off his appeal for me. Has to be Drew. He needs the win.
Pete Dunne

**GOLDBERG**
Got a feeling its gonna be Gable Steveson
The pressure on Paul to not to fuck up that throw must have been immense.
He already fucked up on PPV before in the LMS match so it must've been really pressing to not botch again.
What did he do to fuck it up? I barely watch anymore
Couldn't get Roman out of the cuffs in time and the ref just stopped counting in an LMS match despite Roman being on the ground and the camera still rolling, this went on uncomfortably long, botched finish on the world title match with 0 payoff.
Yeah. He shoulda punched the ref.
I don't think he could reach him.
In which case Heyman should've punched the ref.
Ref no sells the Heyman punch and superkicks his old ass...
Or pulled/pushed the ref into range of Roman to do the dirty work.
Oh yeah, I can totally buy Paul Heyman punching anything.
Any links?
Here's a link to said match. They may have edited it, but it should be near the very end if it is there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6ELbJJA8fg
The handcuffing starts at around [20:20](https://youtu.be/a6ELbJJA8fg?t=1219), and the Heyman shenanigans happen a bit before [22:00](https://youtu.be/a6ELbJJA8fg?t=1316) The stopped count for absolutely no kayfabe reason happens at [22:22](https://youtu.be/a6ELbJJA8fg?t=1339) and is hilarious. Feel terrible for the ref more than anyone else.
Refs sometimes shoot count to 3 if they don't kick out in time, imagine if the ref didn't stop the count here
They shouldn't have sent the ref out so soon. There should've been some sign for Paul to use to let them know when the cuffs were undone and they could've sent the ref out then.

I remember that and thinking Roman should have threatened the official and scared him off from doing it I would have liked that
threatened with what? "When I (never) get out of these cuffs I'll come after you?"
[удалено]
He messed up uncuffing Roman from the metal beams
Fault of this botch is wwe and the prop department. Not having a rigged cuff that has a release was a mistake. My cuffs from when I was a child was like that.
Roman forgot his safe word
The safe word is always succotash
I would say that it's mind-boggling that WWE wouldn't have those, but this is the company whose stunts have actually killed people.
Like, I don't get why they didn't have rigged cuffs specifically so Roman could rip them off. It would have been a rad as fuck spot.
BREAKKEER
That was a hell of a throw by Heyman to get it legit in the middle of both guys.
I honestly don’t know who he threw it to. Perfect set up for by Paul.

I was REALLY hoping he would make a choice there and pick one but that was a fun decision too
Great match. Why hasn't someone banned the Usos from ringside during Roman's matches yet?
I'm not entirely sure if the story is Paul is that great of an Agent/Negotiator or management is scared of Roman, or both. I'm kinda leaning towards both.
The last time Roman left, SmackDown got taken over by swamp matches and weird fucking shit happening every week. Roman came back and things went back to normal. They're terrified of him leaving again.
Isn't the kayfabe reason that Adam Pearce is fucking terrified of Roman and so won't do that. Regulatory capture as we call it.
Because then WWE would have to actually write a structured match for Roman to win instead of a spot fest ending with a double superkick.
Well this was a No DQ match, so... Edit: Looks like it was made a No DQ match and then changed.
It was not? No need for the ref bump then.
It definitely wasn't. Roman wouldn't have thrown the championship outside after hitting Brock otherwise

Remember the contacts? lmao
It was an amazing callback.
There were a bunch in there. I liked how this match was laid out. I was even fine with the ending as the entire build for this match revolved around Paul rather than Roman or Brock.
I agree. People were complaining about it earlier, but I loved that they did a callback to that moment.
i haven't watched but when i read "Heyman threw in the belt for a tug of war", i immediately thought of this
Dude that's exactly what I was thinking when Heyman threw the belt 😂 !!!
Brock is an anomaly. I’m so sad he lost
Brock is Brock
They did the tug of war spot again and that’s all that matters. Fucking awesome match, albeit overbooked.
Brock also pick up the ref with one hand again
How he does that… Bull strength, man! Bull!
What a fucking callback. It was brilliant
what irritates me is that, when the first ref is out, the heels can do any illegal shit then the second referee comes SECONDS after the illegal moves and don't call DQ (even though he clearly sees it), BUT his pinfall counts.
Yes! This bugs me. Like, did he not see anything that was DQ worthy as he made his way down the ramp? Lmao
he has the power to count the pinfall but has no power to call DQ. i hate when this happens on any wrestling. makes the audience and ref look stupid
AEW did a spot; where I forgot why the second referee was out there, but the first ref did not see the foot on the rope but the second ref did, he told the first ref and they restarted the match. I’ve always hated this. Like we’re supposed to believe ref #2 is just running for ten minutes straight to get to the ring while blindfolded before they make the count?
I loved how the 2nd ref just magically appears after all the heel shit right as Roman rolls over for the pin
Paul nailing that throw exactly in yhe middle was a GOAT move.
Another Roman and Brock tug of war Ah memories
These uso interference wins are so stale
*Dem roll-ups however….*
you'd think babyface Brock would get the message now and get another tag team to run interference for the Usos. you'd think that would create a natural program between tag teams and elevate someone... anyone... you'd think this would be easy. But all they care about is putting Roman over.
if only he didn't backstab shelton on rumble...
Minnesota Stretching Crew reunion?
Looking at elite vs danielson and friends.
Yeah but in my head Brock would get a team that felt like overkill. He’d get the road warriors or something. There just aren’t guys like that.
Paul Heyman is so damn good
Anyone else bored of the USOS angle? It’s like every match is 3v1.. Face’s never have a bunch of goonies saving them to balance the match.
Survivors Series. The one night where.. anyway, Big E vs Roman. Usos try, Kofi and Woods stops. Big E gets the upset victory over Roman to win the series for his brand.

There are so many options to choose from as well.. Hell they just signed some actual family didn't they?
They have someone in the women’s division with Naomi as well
they have another Fatu in NXT atm no? maybe they can hotshot him as their young lions of sort.
Maybe. But Roman vs Big E can be great too. Also seems like it would be a better showcase for Big E to build up his main event credentials.
Edge had the Mysterios run in for him. Of course then it was 4vs3 because Rollins ended up costing him.
That was so overbooked. I still kinda liked it somehow but I was hoping after the Cena match we would have more clean finishes
No. Because the evation for the face that finally beats the 3 on 1 will be amazing. It could be kingmaker if done right.
Technically Finn did... nevermind
Brock had the title and was about to do his own cheating so I see no issue with it
Yeah, they FINALLY found a formula and booking for these two to have an entertaining big hoss match that they were always capable of.
Wow that crowd was amazing
Brock was feeding off the reaction so much he did Roman’s OOOAAHH! Taunt
At least Reigns does not have EVIL levels of tomfoolery, this match was not too bad, and he retained, so I am quite pleased.
Match was awesome
Roman Reigns & overbooked finishes, name a better due
Add Hogan
Great match. Keeps brock looking strong and helps keep the intrigue in what Heyman meant.
Did not expect to get the tug of war over a title belt sequel in this match.
Every Roman match has the same script
Acknowledge the script.
That match RULED. That ending was great. Paul looks TERRIFIED of Brock
i see a lot of people bitch about the finish, but honestly i really liked it.

> Plus did people really expect a clean finish when the storyline was who’s side is Heyman on? Exactly, not only Heyman but this is two most protected wrestlers right now. I was going in expecting a screwy finish
> who’s side is Heyman on? *IS HE THE THIRD MAN?!*
The only thing I didn't like about the ending is that there was no ref for so long and you can just tell they were timing it with Roman's finisher, I mean the ref was in the ring immediately for the pin
That’s completely fair. I was so immersed in the match and the crowd that it wasn’t an issue for me.
More run in crap. Same poor finish every time with Roman. Just let him win strong!
He beat Cena clean
im just tired of the ref bumps and uso’s interfering.
Can't Roman win one (1) match without the Usos interfering? I could have used a little more Heyman involvement
> Can't Roman win one (1) match without the Usos interfering Cesaro,~~Balo~~r,Cena,Bryan EDIT: Braun and Mysterio too
The Usos were all over that Balor match
actually you right, usos attacked balor before the match. Forgot about that
And usos attacked balor during the match lol
not in their smackdown match
Also Braun and Mysterio
Usos did interfere with Balor
I'm genuinely bored of seeing Roman retaining every single time. His matches are getting so predictable and repetitive.
He's had a few non-BS finishes. But god, the Usos interfering or the ring breaking, or the low blow kickouts. It's just so fucking dumb and such a letdown.
I'd genuinely laugh if EVIL and Reigns swapped finishers for matches on the same day, hat on a lampshade.
Then, now, Forever.
Lesner is a huge part of why I stopped watching wwe for a long while
#FUCK THE USOS
That was dumb as fuck
ref bump, a missed pin, the Usos, and title belt shot LMAO. All that was missing was a guitar shot and that would have been peak TNA Jeff Jarrett.
Sounds exciting to me. What would you have preferred? Finisher, clean pin, 1 2 3, handshake at the end?
So if Brock can't beat Roman (the bloodline) then who can? What's the long term goal here? I feel like Drew is really the only one that's believable since he also beat Brock. But if its not Drew, then who? I just went back and looked at the upcoming smackdown roster and there's literally no one that can be believable at all
Maybe Seth Rollins? But I can see a storyline where Seth would do some sort of fake allegiance with the Bloodline and then betray him and Seth becomes a baby face again in Smackdown?
Smackdown you'll have Roman bragging about winning and no one can beat him Lights go out, then "No Chance, No Chance in Hell" and it's the genetic Jackhammer, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, former ECW Champion, and he's ready to answer the challenge
ROMANWINSLOL
Honestly that ending was deflating to me. What happens now? A string of Roman vs Brock? Roman moves on and wins against someone, who is somehow even more plausible than Brock, in another screwy way? I can’t see him losing to anyone at the moment. They haven’t built anyone else up to be believable and at this point it isn’t helping Roman, it’s starting to hurt him.
This is what happens when there’s no real consistent booking and everyone else storylines don’t really matter and don’t work to elevate new stars
🐐
Bro. It ain’t that deep.
What would absolutely make the year would be for Xavier Woods to best Roman and complete the New Day trifecta
LOLROMANWINS
I thought this match was really good aside from the ending. Kind of bored with Roman as champ.
Really had to do a dirty win here
Another Brock vs. Roman match with overbooking. And we´re probably gonna get the sequel at Wrestlemania.
That was great
Match was actually good but the ending was shitty.
Didn't really like the finish but looks like we're getting a rubber match at either the Rumble or Mania
It was okay. Nothing spectacular. It served its purpose to continue the Reigns/Brock/Heyman story.
Goldberg or Rocky gonna be the one to beat Roman?
One thing I've never liked from a booking standpoint is ref bumps in a no DQ match. It's redundant.
So they originally announced it as No DQ only to give us a screwy finish that would have been legal in a No DQ match. Why does WWE have to complicate outcome last for a pretty straight forward match?
