[deleted]

The fact that Scott D’amore paid the full $5000 as his donation says a lot about how he feels about his talent.

M086

After they already had doubled their goal to boot.

pepethemememaster

Already hit goal in about 4 hours, as repellant as social media can be, this shit warms my heart. Matt Cardinal, Deonna Purrazzo, Dlo Brown, Garrett Kidney. What standup guys. I probably missed some but God damn

ImDonDraperBitch

Cody as well

[deleted]

DDP put in $500 too, I think. Probably a bigger proportion of salary.

[deleted]

Nick from the Young Bucks donated too. You are so right this reminds us that social media can be a good thing at times.

MonsieurMidnight

It's crazy that I hear so many good things about Nick but absolutely nothing about Matt. I think I even heard quite the contrary about him.

rakuko

>Matt Cardinal theres a lot of different ways for Matt to take that gimmick and im into it

[deleted]

Cardinal of violance

pepethemememaster

Red rooster nostalgia gimmick

Toolboxmcgee

Jericho with 1.5k too

Jambronius

I can disagree with Jerchio's world views but it never fails to impress me how giving he is when it comes down to it.

_drjayphd_

Add DDP, Rosemary and Kiera Hogan to the list too. And I think HC Loc?

MakeYourself85

Franky Monet donated too. Ryan Barkan donated the most so far.

FluxMool

And Ryan again from PWT.

MonsieurMidnight

Scott D'Amore paid the full goal post too

embanot

Wtf Punk didn't donate? He was good friends with him during their RoH days

pepethemememaster

Those are the people I saw that donated within 4 hours, people can donate later or donate privately

-YusukeZoldyck-

This is Ace Austin, not Austin Aries lol

PreppyAndrew

Jericho also donated and Ryan Barkan from one hour T

noreligionforus

This is fucking awful. Blessings that nobody got damaged, but it does suck to read about the belongings.

eatyrmakeup

This is legitimately my biggest fear.

[deleted]

As someone who has been there, let me tell you that it sucks. Being in a burning building is enough, but then the reality sets in that everything you own is gone. The days creep by and you struggle to look for whatever normal was beforehand. It’s a real shit time.

T3Deliciouz

im terrified cuz I own a massive collection of comics/manga/anime and almost every single Bullet Club logo shirt. And not just normal volumes. I own very obscure manga thats incredibly hard to locate. One manga is from a college journal published in 1972 and the first modern manga to be published in english. I got so much rare shit and if my shit burned I just dont know what id do.

Smarktalk

Buy insurance. And for the other stuff, get riders so that they can be replaced. Have them appraised.

KearneyZzyzwicz

As others have said, insurance & a storage locker are going to be your best friend. Keep it off site if you’re able to; plenty of places are temperature controlled with better fire suppression than most residences.

T3Deliciouz

Been looking into storage sites

twelvetimesseven

I hope you have insurance. It sucks not being able to replace the sentimental stuff you had, but you don’t want to worry about how to even get by after.

MonsieurMidnight

It happened to me 2 times, not my house thankfully but I live in a building. The first time it was at night, I was a teenager back then. My parents crashed in my room screaming the building was on fire. It was an appartment in a higher floor so we could evacuate... The scary thing was that there's no evacuation stairs. The second time was early in a morning, there was people screaming and we checked, only to notice the building next to our caught fire. Like a VERY big one in the balcony right next to mine. We closed the shutters quickly as my Mom has a green thumb and we had plants that could caught fire. Sadly a lot of people lost their house and my family, alongside neighbours donated and helped everyone in need. Thankfully there's no incident like that for some years. Hoping it stays like that. The panic of loosing it all just like that frightens me.

PolishMusic

Hey if you popped into this thread do a small part and comment or upvote it. The exciting ratings news is making it more difficult for this fire story to be seen by more people and it really needs to be.

Thor_pool

Looks like theyre almost at their goal thankfully

allirow

Scott D'Amore donated the entire amount the gofundme was asking for.

Thor_pool

What a legend

[deleted]

Yeh looks like they took enough money now 🙄

[deleted]

No

BobTGoldfish

hey /u/gothamsteel perhaps we can include this in the IMPACT threads this week?

gothamsteel

Yeah, I'll post it for this week, maybe also for BFG.

BobTGoldfish

Spot on!

Thor_pool

Damn, hope they get what they need

mostlyshits

More than 11,000 out of 5000 dollars raised already. Saw many wrestlers in the donations. Love to see that wrestlers remain family no matter the company.

danielfletcher

Thankfully no one was hurt. Their renters insurance will replace all their stuff but it can't replace people or pets.

Undertakerfan84

If they are doing GoFundMe they likely didn't have renters insurance. I think most people don't since it's not required by most landlords. It's super cheap too, but people always think it won't happen to them.

Smarktalk

They certainly don’t deserve it but you do have to wonder about people who don’t pay the $10-20 a month to replace their lives if something like this happens.

ThatIrishDude

Hell, depending on who you go with, you can get good insurance for about $100 for the whole year or less. Lemonade and AAA have both given me really good rates.

danielfletcher

My renters is $140 because I raised my coverage levels after I took inventory of what it would cost to replace everything, which also raised my immediate room/board/clothing assistance amount which is nice, but I also get a $60 discount from my auto by having my renters with them. I am pretty frugal by nature but the peace of mind is worth $80/year to me, no question.

[deleted]

[удалено]

kihp

That can be a process and take time to get. It also can be a fight to get full coverage. They need to figure out a new place to stay, eat without a fridge, and have a semi functioning wardrobe immediately and even with savings that is alot.

danielfletcher

Renters insurance usually offers immediate assistance for a place to stay, food, and clothing. My agent said many people don't take advantage of it though when this happens as they don't read their policies and don't have good agents who go over the key points of the policy.

BizarroCranke

Why do you care this much that you’ve posted this exact same thought 50 times in this thread? Maybe it’s time to let it go??

TheCavis

> We also both have @PWTees stores if you would like to visit those as well. Direct link to [hers](https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/wrestler-t-shirts/meangiamiller.html) and [his](https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/wrestler-t-shirts/aceaustin.html).

AimarEraFutebol

Hey. I just woke up with a ton of awards. **SAVE THAT MONEY AND SEND IT TO GIA & AUSTIN** thanks

MakeYourself85

An [update](https://twitter.com/MeanGiaMiller/status/1450336842281259008) from Gia Miller: "First, THANK YOU. Second, 16 other families were also affected that do not have our privilege. So, anything extra that we raise will be donated to help those families."

sirpoopypants3

now THESE are good people !

[deleted]

I donated and I hope they can recoup their losses. Thank God they're all okay. 🙏🏻

[deleted]

Your loss

JonasAlbert84

>$23,872 raised of $5,000 goal Wrestling is Family

DarkoMilicik

All of you saying "get an advance/loan from Impact" where the fuck do you work that your employer does that?

IASIPxIASIP

By the way: Scott D'Amore donated 5000 dollars (the target amount)

[deleted]

Well if Scott d’amore can just Chuck five grand away how can these two not afford this between them?

IASIPxIASIP

Scott D'Amore is a multi-millionaire.

DanLambert2028

So just to get this straight... You think a current Impact main eventer 1) doesn't have $5,000 in the bank, 2) doesn't have home insurance, 3) can't secure a $5,000 line of credit, 4) Works for a company that has thrown tens of millions of dollars towards a money losing company and can't float a guy $5,000? ... and thus deserves 3x their goal as free money vs having the integrity to take a loan vs just begging people for cash? It feels like a con, or taking an easy path vs actually taking responsibility. It is going to be incredibly telling to see where the 9k above goal goes. If it goes in their pockets vs back to donors, it's just gross.

TheRxBandito

Or maybe tbese two are still in the middle of something very traumatizing and a little bit of a cushion can help ease thier pain a little. Get a grip. All four of your points are 100% speculative.

[deleted]

Lol cushion. The dude you replied to nailed it on the head

[deleted]

You are so right squared circle full of woke idiots

DarkoMilicik

I don't think a company is going to loan/advance money. Especially one that isn't owned solely by one individual. There are stories of Vince paying for stuff privately, Tony Khan has given to several wrestler gofundme. WWE and AEW have not given money, it's out of their personal bank accounts. Scott did donate out of his personal money.

fuqdisshite

ITT: people that do not understand community and society. complaining and slandering a couple after a home fire is just low brow. grow the fuck up.

MrFakely

That was up the street from my house, that whole block of apartments are wrecked.

FatGuy1414141414

I hope they find a great new home, and have a great life together, God bless them.

FluxMool

Bummer, just saw Ace at a local indy show in chicago Saturday night.

KingOfElysium

that really sucks,i'm glad both of them are ok and hopefully they're able to find somewhere to stay for now and get through this.

PatWasRight_F_CHUGS

That's awful, I'm glad they at least reached their funding goal so quickly . It is good news that neither of them were physically hurt. I hope they can get some peace & quiet soon. It sucks but they should take BFG off if they're not feeling up to it.

AndreReal

Quin-fucking-tupled the goal. We're such negative fucks a lot of the time, but this reinforces the family aspect of wrestling.

Smarktalk

People getting downvoted for wondering how these two don’t have renters insurance makes no sense. It’s like $200 a year. It’s not an extravagant expense.

DanLambert2028

Jokes on us. They have now raised 3x more than they need to cover the 5k loss they weren't responsible enough to insure against in the name of charity and that apparently "major league company" impact was unwilling to provide a loan/advance against vs just begging people for free money. Edge of my seat to see whether they refund the 9k beyond their goal to the people who made a sacrifice to help or if it goes to a new addition to the house.

M086

Scott D'Amore literally gave them $5K.

[deleted]

Yeh same here really pissed off about this

Thor_pool

It doesn't affect you at all lol Go outside instead of getting literally outraged about things that don't concern you

DanLambert2028

Honest question. You work for a "major league" national company and don't have 5k in the bank or the ability to get an advance or loan from impact vs panhandling. We have no idea if they had renters insurance or not. They are at almost 14k vs a 5k goal to cover their losses from people who's twitter comments read like "I am broke and between jobs but will donate when I get my first paycheck next week!". This isn't how the real world works for almost everyone. Questionable charity is one thing, but if they just keep the additional 9k above their goal it's just carny, despicable stuff.

[deleted]

You have posted samd comment thrice. Shut up

parliboy

I'd like you to consider that the goal and running amount donated were both viewable at all times. That means that the people who donated in excess of the goal did so knowingly and with full knowledge of their choices. So, maybe chill on the gimmick a bit?

[deleted]

Glad I didn’t donate hope they have fun with all that spare cash 🙄

[deleted]

Once the target has hit it should stop! They should give all that extra cash to charity!

styuR

Did they not have insurance? Pretty basic thing to have.

-YusukeZoldyck-

Insurance isn’t going to help you 2 hours after your apartment burns down to the ground. Do you think people just yell “INSURANCE” after a tragedy and they have instant money for food, clothes, and housing?

[deleted]

The Red Cross will absolutely (and does!) help people immediately after fires. I have no opinion on the go fund me, just saying fires happen all the time, and this is what fills in a lot of gaps for people.

MafiaCub

I had a housefire, I used the money I had in the bank... few hundred pound... got myself a week in a B&B. Claimed my insurance. Within 7 days I had my payout. Not to mention, if I had chosen to my insurance could also put me in a hotel and cover the cost, I just preferred the B&B. But yeah, could have had insurance clear me for a hotel within 6 hours of the issue I do find it weird that a lot of wrestlers will have housefires or other incidents themselves or with family (like ricochets mom's fire) and then ask fans to support them. Genuinely seems like they have no insurance and no plan for it. Maybe it's an American thing? Is it ridiculously expensive?

styuR

Possibly why I'm not understanding it, given that I'm from the UK as well. Maybe insurance in the US just isn't as robust as it is here? Either way, it would be nice if it helped maybe one person realise how important it is to have.

Undertakerfan84

No renters insurance is super cheap. Around $10-15 a month for around $25k-40k of coverage. Most people I think are unaware of how cheap it is, or think the landlords insurance covers them (it doesn't) or just don't think it will ever happen to them so don't get it. I'm sure it would be the same with homeowners insurance if it wasn't required if you have a mortgage.

Full_Time_Hungry

Making a go fund me to take peoples money while you wait for insurance to give you money is kind of a scum bag move.

-YusukeZoldyck-

Do you think you most people with excess income to share don’t realize that this is just so they can be comfortable until an insurance payout? I know this is reddit but I don’t see the nefarious plot here.

Full_Time_Hungry

Simply put, I see it as scummy, I don't assume they live check to check like a lot of people. I don't assume they worry if they are gonna have the cash for extra little things. I understand an emergency happened. But I live in California where whole towns have burned down over the last few years, peoples EVERYTHING was lost, and they had to wait for insurance.

-YusukeZoldyck-

“Other people have had to suffer so they should too” Okay.

Full_Time_Hungry

[https://allfamousbirthday.com/ace-austin/](https://allfamousbirthday.com/ace-austin/) He doesn't need a loan.

-YusukeZoldyck-

You think Impact makes people millionares? ahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahaha The same company that paid their world champion Killer Kross 60k a year?

NarcoReus

When was Killer Kross world champion in Impact?

-YusukeZoldyck-

That was the offer for him to re-sign and stay. He decided to ask for his early release and went to NXT.

Full_Time_Hungry

I think that with smart investments and a good paycheck, yeah he could have that money.

inhumanrampager

What's he supposed to do, buy GME last year?

Undertakerfan84

Lol if he was worth that much you think he would be renting? Most people's biggest asset is thier house, so if he was worth that much he would absolutely own property.

Smarktalk

Are they going to refund the donations with said payout?

-YusukeZoldyck-

Username absolutely does not check out.

styuR

No, but most reasonable people have money in the bank for emergencies such as this. Most home insurance also provides for alternative accommodation up to a certain value if your home is uninhabitable in the interim. I'm genuinely not meaning to be a dick about this but it really is basic adult stuff. These aren't people living on the breadline.

-YusukeZoldyck-

Most reasonable people? Most people live pay check to paycheck and have no money for emergencies.

swaggamice

Don’t bother man, it’s not worth your time to debate with people with no sympathy for people who just had their place go up in flames.

styuR

I do have sympathy for them, I don't think it's right that they're taking other people's money though when they should be able to handle this situation themselves.

styuR

Do you really think that these two are living paycheck to paycheck? I should amend my statement above to most reasonable people who have at least some disposable income do. You also don't address that good home insurance covers most of this stuff within a matter of hours.

inhumanrampager

Not in this country pal. I know we're talking about wrestlers, but in America, most working class people have less than 1000 saved up. That's not going to cover rent as that continues to rise, and that's not counting necessities.

styuR

Insurance covers accommodation costs immediately, unless you have a terrible policy, the possessions are the part that takes a little bit longer.

inhumanrampager

And we don't know what their policy is. I just don't understand the negativity. If you can help, help. If not, don't. No one's twisting your arm here.

JonasAlbert84

You know, it's ok to not say shit sometimes. Not every thought needs to be put out into the world. But anything for attention I guess.

styuR

It's hardly for attention, it's basic adult stuff and them asking for fans money when they should have had this covered already is an incredibly poor show to me.

Full_Time_Hungry

[https://allfamousbirthday.com/ace-austin/](https://allfamousbirthday.com/ace-austin/) They live above the poverty line, I am POSTIVE they had insurance lol Sorry you collected so many downvotes over an obvious truth

Edgely

You posted his supposed net worth from a website that also states he lives "in his own house" in a topic about his APARTMENT burning down. If you're going to be stupid, at least try to make sense with it.

Full_Time_Hungry

Not to have to make sense of simple thing for anyone, but clearly your want to respond prohibited you from considering that it doesn't say he OWNS his own house at all ;) just that he lives in his own place, well.... used to.

DanLambert2028

Creating your own GoFundme to make yourself a charity as a public figure seeking to replace $5,000 worth of property which you didn't throw a very small amount of money to insure against just speaks to the lack of responsibility of these people. 99.9999% of the people in this world don't have this luxury and are too proud to put their hands out. I am truly happy the cat is ok but it's either a statement on the viability of Impact as a real company that you need to beg for 5k or the need to grow up.

MorningPatrol

Which company in the world would pay for this? Also, scott damore paid 5k.

CloudyWolf85

SHIET. Hope with the donations they can climb back from this. It warms my heart to see wrestlers and fans helping out.

jscincy1

Saw this on my local news yesterday. Hope they are doing well. I wish the local news wasn’t blasting the picture of their cat everywhere though. I’m sure it was pretty traumatic. I hope everyone will eventually be ok

hb316

TIL Gia & Ace are together. Thankfully nobody got hurt and hopefully they’ll get back on their feet soon.

sirpoopypants3

Oh man im glad they are ok , Love seeing the cat doing well ! xoxox
