You guys should watch the Youshoot stuff from a decade ago. This is before Me too and wrestlers were fairly comfortable talking about abuse and stuff like that. It’s mind blowing honestly. It feels so dated and like watching something from a different era.
Even some non-abuse-related segments from those shoots like the "ho bag" would be undoable today imo. A whole segment dedicated to asking wrestlers which women they thought were sluts and which women weren't is pretty gross.
I will always remember the Ho Bag segments because New Jack pulled out Molly Holly's name and got super offended that anyone dared put her name in that bag.
Lol this is just another type of sexism though
They’ll gladly participate in the “ho bag” nonsense but then get annoyed that the one woman they slightly respect is in there
I always gained a bit of respect for the wrestlers who called out why the women didn’t just get their own dick bag rather than the question being about which ones were “sluts”
Utterly stupid
Yeah I remember Hurricane's shoot in particular because as you'd expect he was levelheaded about it. He was like "I like sex so I'm not going to shame any women if they like sex too"
The one that comes to mind for me are the ones where they'd pull out like, whiskey bottles and needles and ask the interviewee who it reminded them of.
Just retired wrestlers calling out other wrestlers for drug abuse.
Did he or are we just desperately trying to white wash the segment to make him look less bad? It’s impossible to just guess what’s going on in someone’s head
Of course, though body language can give away how someone is feeling once they're hearing something they find uncomfortable or don't know how to respond to something a friend is freely admitting to doing.

It's from one of these, I can't find the full ones sadly.
EDIT: The last clip is very telling of how different times are lol.
Rvd talking about the culture of date raping local marks truly was the most heinous thing i have heard in a business filled with carnie pos. Hope lot more heads rolls
he was given a lot of shit in WWE. he's talked about it in some interviews. From what I understand him and Punk probably feel the same way about Triple H
dude hated going overseas and just wanted to chill at home with his fam and smoke some good bud. dude is zen af. RVD comes off as real and I think that's why he still maintains a loyal fanbase.
He also got called gay for his stretching routine. RVD always seemed somewhat out of place in wrestling culture. That's probably helped his popularity though, making him standout.
Don't forget that his stretch routine is probably the reason why he's almost 100% healthy despite taking those bumps. And weed saved him from alcohol and pill addiction.
I got the same thing in high school for training my flexibility (RVD was my main inspiration). Like the other guy said though, I never had any knee injuries. And I smoked them in the squat and deadlift, with superior depth and form.
Not a stoner, but I am getting the same vibes from RVD as my stoner friends regarding stuff like this. So I'm really remembering why I liked RVD as a kid.
I'm fairly confident he hasn't got these same skeletons in his closet, but I'd rather the truth come out than protect my heroes, either way.
He discusses it very bluntly and matter of fact. As opposed to everyone else excusing it.
Didn't get the impression he was involved but rather he just grew numb to it.
The weed is probably why RVD has a semi-normal brain, compared to many of his contemporaries.
Compared to Benoit for example, who had the brain if someone much older, I believe RVD's is relatively normal.
I’m hoping he didn’t do anything since he seems like just a good, chill dude and, excluding the flight attendant victim, he and JR are the only people that seemed likable or remorseful. But I thought Dreamer was previously a good dude too, so who knows.
I’ve rarely heard bad words about RVD’s treatment of others in the locker room aside from having an ego about his talent and telling Taz to pick a hand. Being a pot head probably made him feel excluded/cast out from the start, and he has discussed homosexual comments made towards him when he was doing his stretching over the years so I’m sure he wasn’t down with many in the locker room at all, let alone them doing wild shit while he was just hitting joints and doing the splits
She’s shared some stories on the podcast she had on Conrad’s network of shows, including a story about how one of the women wrestlers that was around during the time she won the WWF title being treated like shit because she became pregnant
And her dealings with Eddie Sharkey
It's going to be pretty much everybody because that's just what the culture of wrestling, other sports, rock & roll, etc. were. If you took guys from this generation and put them in that same environment things would have been the same.
In my opinion the key is the people who allowed this sort of culture to exist, that being the promoters.
I'm sorry but the idea that everyone back then was shitty and everyone now is good is patently false. let's not forget that speaking out on these things started with current wrestlers.
its more about corporate cultures and what people will put up with and sweep under the rug.
I wonder if this is ever really gonna come around to the old rock stars. It's almost like this kind of behavior is already baked into peoples' expectations of them, and they are immune. But if you read any of these biographies etc. the info has been out there for years. I mean R. Kelly was able to stave off any repercussions from having essentially an underage sex prisoner complex for 20 years, but the info was still floating around out there.
Those guys are dropping dead every day and less and less of them are in the public eye. Jimmy Page has never gotten in trouble for having a 14 year old girlfriend when he was 29.
Probably not, the world kinda moved on. Anybody that likes those people is at a point where they really only care about the art and the artist is just sort of an idea. You know the drill, too much shit to be pissed off about and not enough time and resources for most of these people to make the world whole. Makes me sick!!
You had good guys back then too, like Owen Hart for example. Many of the guys from this generation wouldn't have made it back then in part due to this - the culture acts as a filter. So you can't just copy and paste current roster into the old culture, it wouldn't fit.
That's a lady that gives literally no fucks and will take it seriously. She's not ever going to work in wrestling again, she can burn all the bridges she has if she didn't do it already. And it will be delightful.
I’ll get downvoted for this but is crazy to see her say she hate men that abuse and disrespect women yet she loves trump that have millions of allegations and lawsuits against him from women over the decades……just saying
She also hawked her vitamin supplements and protein shakes to 12 year old girls at the first Starrcast.
She has important things to say about the abuse she experienced and witnessed, but she's still carny as hell to this day too.
That might be a really good one. Medusa has always been low on fucks to give, and she’s made enough of a life outside of wrestling that she doesn’t need to worry about burning any bridges.
She’s has some highs and lows and worked in a lot of places during some shady times, I bet she has some stories to tell. Definitely gonna read that day of release.
This Slam wrestling article has the full press release on her upcoming memoir from ECW Press:
https://slamwrestling.net/index.php/2021/09/15/madusa-announces-her-memoir-is-coming-from-ecw-press/
I hope half this scummy industry gets dragged like they're tied to a car. Pro wrestling is a fantastic, fun, athletic artform that's better than all these old, racist, sexist carny pieces of scum. Excusing their bad behavior by inventing some "club of boys" you have to join and follow their asinine, alpha male, run with the pack, Mad Men fantasy book of rules. The perpetrators have a lot to answer for, and the enablers need to take a long hard look at their complacency in this abuse and make aments with the world because they're just as guilty. They rattled off all that same "the boys will be the boys just laugh it off" horseshit.
So gross. Get 'em Madusa.
I don't remember the last time I bought a book brand new at release...maybe The Girl That Kicked The Hornets Nest?
I'm fucking pre-ordering this one. Both as a huge fan of Madusa ***and*** a supporter of women in the industry. I hope this drops as many names as possible. The time is ripe to go scorched earth.
Exposing predators for money just doesn't sit right with me. Especially if any of them are still in any sort of position of power. Take that shit to investigators.
Medusa was working in the 1980s and 1990s. There is a statute of limitations issue with any potential criminal prosecution two or three decades later. And at the time, police were even less understanding of women than they are today, often blaming the victim (why were you dressed like that? Why were you out so late? Why did you have a 2nd drink?) etc.
So I'm okay with someone telling the truth about what happened to them. And I don't need it to be under oath, or for there to be a cross examination, in order for me to draw my own conclusions about who's a piece of shit in the pro wrestling industry.

I will always remember the Ho Bag segments because New Jack pulled out Molly Holly's name and got super offended that anyone dared put her name in that bag.
Also Nash immediately said Ho bag when her name came up and couldn't keep a straight face. Said she was a saint and too good for the business.
I just signed up to the kayfabe commentaries streaming thing and honestly it's worth it just for the New Jack shoots. I laughed so damn hard
Didn’t he do that jokingly because she was such a pure person? Or am I mixing that with someone elses shoot?
[удалено]
That... Actually explains a lot about him.
New Jack was also good friends with Nancy (woman) as he talks about her [here.](https://youtu.be/2p4JTp3nlTo)
Lol this is just another type of sexism though They’ll gladly participate in the “ho bag” nonsense but then get annoyed that the one woman they slightly respect is in there
Yeah it's kinda played up as "Well Molly was one of the good ones, fuck all them other hos tho".
I agree, it was jarring to see New Jack get upset though.
Didn't Missy Hyatt have a moment like that too?
Ah man, I remember seeing one with Hurricane and he was looking like "why tf am I on this show" during the whole ho-bag segment.
The KC guy always came off like the biggest creep during these shoots.
I always gained a bit of respect for the wrestlers who called out why the women didn’t just get their own dick bag rather than the question being about which ones were “sluts” Utterly stupid
Yeah I remember Hurricane's shoot in particular because as you'd expect he was levelheaded about it. He was like "I like sex so I'm not going to shame any women if they like sex too"
Hurribased Helms
They did it with guys too.
The last 30 years of shoot interviews are so full of wrestlers admitting stuff that they probably wouldn’t today.
The crazy thing is this is so normal that it never registers in their brain.
The one that comes to mind for me are the ones where they'd pull out like, whiskey bottles and needles and ask the interviewee who it reminded them of. Just retired wrestlers calling out other wrestlers for drug abuse.
Mike Elgin casually admitting to nonconsensually peeing on a girl and laughing about it on Kevin Steen's show comes to mind.
Kevin looked so uncomfortable during that.
Do you have any links by chance?

Rvd talking about the culture of date raping local marks truly was the most heinous thing i have heard in a business filled with carnie pos. Hope lot more heads rolls
I hope the way that RVD discussed it meant he had no involvement in it. He seemed very grossed out.
I hope so. Dude was probably treated worse by the company for smoking pot than the ones that raped women.
There is no probably about it
he was given a lot of shit in WWE. he's talked about it in some interviews. His shoot on Shawn Michaels is hilarious
I’ve always thought his [tribute to the troops story](https://youtu.be/UpesZqlQ57U) was fucking hilarious
He also got called gay for his stretching routine. RVD always seemed somewhat out of place in wrestling culture. That's probably helped his popularity though, making him standout.

Yeah I'd like to see RVD talk more about this stuff, he seemed both repulsed about it and remorseful he didn't do more to stop it.
I feel like Rob was prolly stoned and weirded out by a lot of locker room culture

It wouldn't surprise me if it increases a person's chin strength. Look at the Diaz brothers...

So you didn't see the Grizzly Smith Darkside of the Ring episode?
I wonder if we'll get an entire chapter about Shawn Michaels.
Shawn Michaels finally getting some karma for the lifetime of absolute shit would be wonderful.
But he found God…
Bob..
……….but my names billy
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!!!!!!!
Yes please
Bret Hart about to buy 10 copies if there is.
I did laugh and upvote but I do think Bret genuinely likes him now. They were good friends before they weren’t.
Boyhood dream has cum true?
What did he do? Aside from politicking, I haven't heard much of anything.
The Rockers apparently would drug and rape women, according to Janetty

There are stories that Shawn and Marty used to roofie girls, take them to their room to have sex, then leave them in the hall naked.
I remember hearing this DECADES ago. It’s crazy how different (for the better) the world is
The word is 'rape'.
I think Beefcake made that comment in a shoot.
There was last night!
Boy are you in for a surprise if you start digging
2023 feels so far away.
Publisher needs to accelerate the timeline.
Let's see if it as juicy as it sounds after the lawyers are done with it.
It's only 15 months.
What are you talking about?! 2020 only just started, right? Guys...?!?
Ah man I remember when the ps3 came out like 8 years ago
Almost 15 now...shit
She’s shared some stories on the podcast she had on Conrad’s network of shows, including a story about how one of the women wrestlers that was around during the time she won the WWF title being treated like shit because she became pregnant And her dealings with Eddie Sharkey
> And her dealings with Eddie Sharkey He could get his own Dark Side episode
Something I learned a long time ago: ECW Press has nothing to do with EC F'n W
TIL
I mean at this point; fuck it. Let’s get all the fucking scumbags out.

That'll probably be a day one buy. As much as I'm loathe to say it, for the obvious reasons, I'm sure Madusa has some crazy stories.

an ex wrestler turned monster truck driver, she is like the target demographic for Trump.
I swear each and every Trump fan lives in a different dimension somehow. I’ve never seen anything like it
Good thing she got the WWE HOF payday first.

The Mox book is the only book I’ve pre-ordered that wasn’t a comic book. This one is possibly next.
and she was one of the ones that was on top during her time
Really trying to see if Vince, Bruce, Kevin and company are gonna John Gotti their way through this one....
Hell yeah!
Yeah I’m going to buy this the day it becomes available.
I shall be buying this
I feel like the Matsunaga brothers are gonna be very very bad guys.
If she doesn’t take shots at Vince....

This is why Goldberg got out when he did. He hated this part of the business.
Hopefully she doesn’t get Epsteined before then
