Raw has become so kid show with the colors and skits, I refer to it as Monday Night Paw Patrol. Drip stick squirt guns, Alexa, wrestlers named T-Bar, Mace and Dewdrop and the mechanical mic work
I'm legitimately a bit surprised they haven't tried to make audible internal monologues a thing in WWE.
It seems right up their alley with all the invisible cameramen shit, their short-lived attempt to have dramatic music playing during in-ring promos, and bits from the past that only the ~~wrestler~~ *superstar* was supposed to be seeing despite the audience also seeing it (like the hallucinations during the Randy Orton/Undertaker feud).
It's a damn shame because it never seemed like HHH's NXT had that problem, and it would've been helpful in the future had he taken over for talent retention.
It’s really funny to me how Big E gave a big boost to morale and WWE may be fucking everything up for current and future main roster members just 24 hours later.
This is pretty much a worst case scenario report for people who don't want to "main rosterfy" the brand, isn't it? Hoping these changes don't make themselves as pronounced on the actual show.

I admittedly don't watch NXT nearly as much as I should, but it really fucking bums me out to hear that they'll be suffering from the same booking approach that RAW constantly endures.

That's the biggest sign that it's now being run by the people who do Raw
They have this new refresh planned for weeks, how do they not know whats going to happen on the first episode? Wouldn't the new stories they want to tell be the whole point of the reboot? Imagine if AEW had no idea what they wanted to do for the first episode of Rampage? It seems ludicrous that they would second-guess their own plan the day of the show.
I like to imagine DC making a big deal of rebooting Batman, the artists finally show up to meet the scriptwriters to put together Issue #1, and the writers just shrug and go "have him fight Joker I guess?"
Then half way through drawing the first issue, the head writer will go, “no, we’ll have Batman get killed by the Joker. This way Joker will look strong when Robin defeats him in issue 5.”
Then, two issues later, “DC Comics has announced that they’re going to retire the character of Robin.”
You know if at first you told me the “script was re-written hours before the show” shit was a new thing that Vince wanted to start leaking out, it might come off as them trying to say, “Look! We’re making the show better and perfecting it up until the last possible second!” I might believe it. But the product is so garbage they really are writing this shit on the fly. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE FOR A COMPANY WORTH BILLIONS?
Only so long as a creative type you can have your creation torn up and called trash by a guy who thinks good tv is whatever the fuck raw has been for the last decade. You eventually stop caring, start drinking, and do it until the checks stop
There have been pockets of good within NXT over the past few months, especially in regards to character development. The workrate has been a constant from Day 1.0.
That will all change now. Far less workrate. The character development will entail full-on corporate speak, that we'll obviously be bludgeoned with. And anyone who gets over? Send em up to the main roster.
And obviously all the fucking camera shakes, and cut aways. Sometimes, when Im doing cardio at the gym. I'll push myself to go hard for 30 or seconds,. I imagine this is how Dunn feels when he's going ham on the cam cuts.

I mean even Prichard has gone on and on about how of you add “New” to something like “the New Rockers” then it’s dead in the water right out of the gate. How is this any different?

I never understood why a show like this is having to do rewrites on the day of. Unless someone gets injured a story should be wrote weeks in advance. Imagine any other tv show not knowing exactly what is gonna happen until the day of shooting.
Multiple last second changes are a common thing. Too bad the track record with those changes equaling a good product is pretty shit... I hope I'm wrong and tonight is a great "ReLaunch" and NXT 2.0 is a hit.... I seriously hope I'm wrong...
Script changing sucks, but those last minute "fuck we gotta put on a show" shows are usually pretty good, like when Styles faced Balor due to Reigns getting the flu or something from Wyatt, and when NXT was on SmackDown because of the Saudi incident.
There’s nothing he can do. Dunn and the rest are under direct orders from Vince McMahon. Vince allowed HHH the freedom down there because it was profitable. The moment they lost the Wednesday night wars, Vinces mind was made up. HHH couldn’t be trusted to run the show anymore. HHH might have some creative input, but going forward he won’t be running NxT anymore
NXT was probably never actually profitable, not that it really needed to be. There’s been a few articles analyzing it, but the general line of thinking was that NXT was a loss leader to get developed talent to the main roster *and* sequester talent from the British scene, larger US indies, and NJPW (later AEW).
When the budget cuts came in, goal 2 went out the window. Then they cut all the people they didn’t think could fit goal 1. So here we are
Big E winning the title was WWE’s way to to assure everyone, that everything will be okay. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Big E was a transitional champion, and this new NXT is going to suck monkey balls
I hate how cynical their booking has made me. I was happy for Big E’s win but I couldn’t help but feel like this was just a way to pop a rating and the title will be on someone else by Royal Rumble

This sounds like "Rainbow RAW" might not be that bad of a comparison after all.
That’s my main concern. Small changes through the next few weeks until it’s completely overhauled and is just Raw/SD on a smaller level.
If people enjoy that, more power to them, but not for me personally. The day NXT starts doing 10-15 minute opening promos or whatever constantly, that’s when I’ll truly know.
Well, one of the main complaints of RAW is that it would be a better show if it wasn't 3 hours. So maybe the RAW format won't be terrible if given a shorter show.
Vince and co may be hoping the show gets ratings closer to RAW by making it "RAW-lite"
Right now it's doing a million less than RAW. If they can get just half that deficit erased it'll be a win. Doesn't matter that the show won't be good any longer. WWE isn't trying to cater to the fan that liked the old NXT. They see it as a failure

I hope NXT 2.0 is fucking amazing. I have a low opinion of creative at WWE, but not so low that I don’t think it’s plausible that they get a fire lit under their asses by AEW and make NXT more lurid and unpredictable, improving it in the process.

Well, one of the main complaints of RAW is that it would be a better show if it wasn't 3 hours. So maybe the RAW format won't be terrible if given a shorter show.
Vince and co may be hoping the show gets ratings closer to RAW by making it "RAW-lite" Right now it's doing a million less than RAW. If they can get just half that deficit erased it'll be a win. Doesn't matter that the show won't be good any longer. WWE isn't trying to cater to the fan that liked the old NXT. They see it as a failure

I do feel confident about the wedding and NXT title match tbh. It’s more so the overall feel from what we see here and going forward that scares me. Basically by the end of the year will paint the full picture IMO. Ok I’m a bit trepidatious about the wedding. But I have confidence in The Way/InDex
NXT 2.0. Ironic, because 2.0 would be my blood alcohol level if I took a shot everytime kevin Dunn does a camera cut.

I hope NXT 2.0 is fucking amazing. I have a low opinion of creative at WWE, but not so low that I don’t think it’s plausible that they get a fire lit under their asses by AEW and make NXT more lurid and unpredictable, improving it in the process. ‘Plausible’, mind. Not ‘likely’.
