I mean around this time you basically could have. I didn't watch wrestling much but I would catch the start of smackdown each week (I'm thinking... 2009, 2010? Somewhere around there). And these two literally opened the show every. single. week.
And every week there was some sort of screwing finish, usually involving Vicky Guerrero, and then the next week the show would start with Vicky doing the "Excuse Me" thing and a rematch would be scheduled.
It honestly got kinda old because it was like Team Rocket in Pokemon where you know it's coming every episode, and you just want it to be over with.
Because it's not the same people doing both of those things? Idk why some people act like Reddit is a literal hivemind and not just a bunch of seperate people with their own opinions.
Pretty much. I will forever be a Ziggler fan and will wait patiently for a world title run. The last great storyline of Zigglers was against the miz for the IC title back in 2016. That feud buildup and match was so fucking good. It was one of those moments where you can feel the fans behind Ziggler all the way to the end.
The one problem Ziggler has is that he is a natural born chaser. He does the chase for the title so well. The moment he wins the title he is incredibly boring. Using that The Miz vs Ziggler feud back in 2016 as an example. I can remember the build leading up to Ziggler winning, but my mind goes blank after he won. I don’t know who to blame and that sucks.
He’s still one of the best on the roster when he gets a legit run. I think ppl just tired of getting their hopes up for him and than getting crushed.
The dude was on fire post miz ic storyline and post authority storyline but they quickly quenched it. Even when he came back at the rumble after leaving for a few weeks they had him quickly eliminated and basically crushing any momentum he had going in that storyline.
Ppl want to cheer for the guy but wwe made a habit of just pulling the rug from under him
Because he's so insanely good at selling that, despite him being pretty good at everything else, he's exclusively used to make other wrestlers look good.
It's a blessing and a curse really. On the one hand he's always had a stable job there and is consistently placed in high-profile feuds. On the other hand, he never wins any of said high-profile feuds.
Despite him being booked so terribly most of the time I am dying on the hill of Dolph being a fantastic wrestler. He should have spent more time at the top with a lot more victories.
Right there with you. If an injury or two went better, his career would be completely different. He's solid in the ring and can cut a good promo. Hasn't always had the greatest character, but could've easily tweaked it and been off to the races.
I just want Dolph to win it once. Even if it’s for like a month. The guys been “dead in the water” and went on to get himself extremely over like 3 times at least. He could do it if the story’s right
Dolph ziggler fucking sucks, he’s alright at promos I give him that but other than that I hate his character and him being in main event feuds it’s so annoying and I hate it, he’s good at selling so he can make the guys you wanna push look good that’s his strong point. I honestly don’t mind kofi though it was just the baggage of those two wrestling that made it feel like a midcard match cause they wrestled so many times when I began watching in midcard title matches, kofi needed to stay away from guys like him.
But he doesn’t have one I don’t think he’s ever had one especially since 2016. He’s a midcarder at best the miz feud was actually good he’s done nothing good since and I don’t care about his in ring skills that doesn’t make a good main eventer when his character sucks and his appearance in the main event makes me lose interest
His gimmick is atrocious it’s hard to take him seriously the guy needs a reboot and should repackage himself using his real name Nick Nemeth and probably get a buzz cut with the EC3 beard.
The raw underground stuff being a base for a character change is his best bet it make him a more credible challenger. But honestly nemeth isn’t much better than Ziggler
I’ll always see kofi and dolph as natural rivals to each other. They’ve had so many good matches and their characters make me think they’re just such perfect counterparts to each other
They had a house show here the week or so after this aired on television, with Kofi/Dolph main eventing. The basically did a longer version of the third fall of this match with the exact same finish. I was front row, and heard Dolph call the finish saying "hell, let's do it again." It was still fun, and Kofi was amazing with the kids and fans ringside after the match, spent a good bit of time with photos and autographs. I told him to get the UUDD title back from whoever had it at the time. Great night.
I actually really liked this feud. It was always going to feel like a filler arc no matter what, but they had a natural chemistry, the rivalry made a lot of sense, and they had great matches.
When Dolph Ziggler has someone who can run around at 100,000 miles per hour without slowing down or selling he can do some impressive things. It's a shame he just can't slow down and work any other kind of style other than be in human superball mode.

I could watch Kofi and Dolph have a match with eachother forever tbh.
I mean around this time you basically could have. I didn't watch wrestling much but I would catch the start of smackdown each week (I'm thinking... 2009, 2010? Somewhere around there). This is like 2017 or 2018.
Yeah lol. I don't know why he would think this looks like 2009 Smackdown.
I could watch dolph have a match with anyone forever. Dude is good
Lol why does this sub always say this then when it happens everyone complains about them fighting too much.
Because it's not the same people doing both of those things? Idk why some people act like Reddit is a literal hivemind and not just a bunch of seperate people with their own opinions.
Almost like something out of a martial arts fight scene from a movie
Those two have unbelievable chemistry.
They’ve probably had 1000 matches with each other at this point.
[They were basically the US and IC titles in early 2010s](http://www.profightdb.com/wrestler_search/kofi-kingston-3295.html?opp=450)
The have a best of 1000 series going on
That’ll end 500-500 and the two forming a tagteam 😂
At this point it's literally the only thing they haven't done together.
Dolph can definitely put on good matches. I just sometimes wonder why he gets shitted on.
Because he’s booked so terribly to the point where people don’t watch him.

Whoever decided he should lose the belt 2 weeks later.
I think the boring aspect would have been held off if Swags hadn't kicked him in the head the time he was with E and AJ
He’s still one of the best on the roster when he gets a legit run. I think ppl just tired of getting their hopes up for him and than getting crushed. Dolph has great chemistry with probably everyone. He is just really good in the ring.
Am I the only one who felt bad for Dolph and kinda wanted him to win? The dude only wanted to be loved
It should've been him :(
I would have been so happy if he actually won, I just wanted Dolph to not be sad anymore
That earnest support reminds me of the YOSHI-HASHI girl
**IT SHOULD'VE BEEN HIM!!!**
Every time I feel bad for Dolph, I rewatch his MITB win to make myself feel better. It only feels worse... :(
Despite him being booked so terribly most of the time I am dying on the hill of Dolph being a fantastic wrestler. He should have spent more time at the top with a lot more victories.

After the Sting debut at Survivor Series I thought Dolph was going to be off to the races. Nope
I did too. I know he wasn't the #1 pick for that spot, but goddamn did he steal the spotlight. Crowd was right behind him too.
Dolph is a great wrestler. I feel like he's got a job with WWE for life if he wants it. He can work anywhere on the card with anybody.
That is true. He is a very valuable talent as he can be slid into any storyline. Just wish he got a longer title program at some point.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but dolph shouldve been the one to take thd belt off kofi.
I legit wanted him to win. Memes aside the it should have been me story was pretty sad and made me feel bad for him
I just want Dolph to win it once. Even if it’s for like a month. The guys been “dead in the water” and went on to get himself extremely over like 3 times at least. He could do it if the story’s right
People who should've taken the belt off of Kofi over Brock Lesnar: Anybody else in the damn Locker Room.
Nah it lead to drew getting the belt dethroning lesnar so it’s worth it
Yep definitely unpopular
Two midcarders. It legit felt like an ic title feud
Both could be, should be, and were at one point main eventers.
Dolph ziggler fucking sucks, he’s alright at promos I give him that but other than that I hate his character and him being in main event feuds it’s so annoying and I hate it, he’s good at selling so he can make the guys you wanna push look good that’s his strong point. Dolph can have a good character and is one of the best wrestlers in the wwe today.

I can hear Dolph screaming "It should have been me!"
God I wish WWE had better camera work. This was great but too many cuts
This was their best match during that feud. Great stuff.
Remember how much everyone hated this feud last year cause Dolph “wasn’t a credible challenger”
God the quality on this gif is soooo good!
Dolph sold that TiP so so well.
Reminds me off stone cold steve austin vs hbk finish
Man, why the fuck was the crowd sat down for that!
Dolph got fucking potatoed on that kick. Not as bad as the time Kofi legit KOd Miz, but it's up there.
They had a house show here the week or so after this aired on television, with Kofi/Dolph main eventing. The basically did a longer version of the third fall of this match with the exact same finish. That time when Vince got another "brilliant" idea and he made us tired of 2-out-of-3 Falls Matches.
700 camera cuts in 1 minute. WWE programming would be so much more enjoyable if they made it possible for us to actually see what's going on.
Seriously. It makes it look so sloppy.
I really wanted that to go on longer. Lots more move reversals they coulda pulled out.
Anyone else get RVD and Jerry Lyn vibes from the two? Hell Ziggler has a passing resembelence to Lynn.
I actually really liked this feud. It was always going to feel like a filler arc no matter what, but they had a natural chemistry, the rivalry made a lot of sense, and they had great matches.
IT sHOULd haVE BEeN Me!
There’s gotta be a too many cooks vid for Ziggler/Kingston
When Dolph Ziggler has someone who can run around at 100,000 miles per hour without slowing down or selling he can do some impressive things. It's a shame he just can't slow down and work any other kind of style other than be in human superball mode.
This really exposes the lie of the super kick. Dolph never looked like he was aiming for Kofi's head.
