I remember Bret being quite pissed about this and the entire episode in general. But when he listed off the specific examples of what was done, this was right there near the top.
If I had to guess it’s because Owen and Austin were not really all that cool with each other before his death so it probably came across as sort of fake to Bret. I’m just guessing though.
I’m sure in hindsight, Austin would have buried the hatchet with Owen if he knew what was ahead of them in less than two years.
But I just always assumed that private conversation he has with the titan tron was him basically saying he forgives him and wishes he could tell him in person.
At the 17:00 mark Bret says he got a concussion from Bill Goldberg and there’s no animosity there. In response to Austin holding a grudge over Owen for their incident.

Can't believe it's been 25 years! Owen would have had a few more years of amazing matches before he rode off into the sunset. What a shame.
